    Great history lesson
Great guide (Nonia) that gave us clear explanations throughout the tour. Very interesting and many possibilities to ask questions but also many photo opportunities. Overall, it was a great tour, length-wise it was perfect and the combination of the Colisseum, the forum and palatine hill is great. The group was small and allowed for questions to be asked. A big thank you to the guide!

Great tour of a great venue by a great tour guide
Informative, well paced and enjoyable. Our guide certainly knew his stuff and was happy to take questions as we went. The only slight issue at times was with the quality of the audio reception … occasionally the cracking made hearing the guide a little difficult

Only Way To Go! Small Group Guided Tour of the Roman Colissuem.
This is a well worth it experience to not only skip the general admission line, but also to be guided in a small group environment. Our tour guide was an expert on the historical relevance of the Forum and he brought to life the activities of the gladiators and Roman crowds who cheered on their favorites. We were in awe the entire time!

    Best Tour Guide IRENE
I had the wonderful experience of visiting the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum with a small group of 14 members with IRENE. I would totally recommend it. She is lively and jolly. I was with my wife and an infant in a stroller. She made sure we were comfortable and waited for us as we were with the strollers through the stairs.

    Very terrible experience
A very bad experience of the tour!! The tour guide Raul Mana is very rude, unprofessional. He left me and other two tourists behind, so we had missed most of the tour in Colosseum. We had completely lost the tour because the tour guide is not carrying any signpost or flag with him, like other tour guides do. Also, he did not check regularly with his group if anyone is missing. When we raise the issue to him, his reaction is very intimading and, no apology at all to us, although we had missed most of the Colosseum tour, because of his negligence and unprofessionalism. I am very unsatisfied with the tour guide, Raul Mana.

We accidentally stumbled upon this group of tour guides, but were happily surprised. The tour started with an interesting insight in the Colosseum's history and roman history about the area around it. Once in the Colosseum, our guide Lorenzo knew very well how to vividly tell and explain how a day in the circus would look like. Afterwards, another guide, Nikke, took us with him on a dive in roman life on the Fora. With precision and funny details he knew how to make the ruines come back to life.
In short, a great experience. These guides know how to make a pile of old stones come back to life. They take you back in time and show what all these rocks, stones and bricks have to tell. What for the untrained eye seems to be just a pile of rocks, something that once was... Now is turned into a great insight of what are the fundamentals of our modern world, in more ways than one would've thought.

(We, two students from the EU, paid €20 per person. The tour takes around 2,5 hours. After that, we were free to continue looking around.)

What a brilliant tour - our tour guide Ranu was full of knowledge and passion, and his storytelling of Rome was entertaining and really good fun!

It was great being able to see the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill in one day - the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill felt slightly rushed, as we spent more time in the Colosseum.

I would recommend booking in the morning, as it would be less busy / less crowds and a lot cooler! Overall, a great day out and well worth booking if you want more context and history about the sites.

We had a tour with Marco who was friendly and informative. Unfortunately the venue was very busy so we spent a lot of time battling the crows. I think this caused us to run behind as the second half of the tour (Roman Forum and Palatine Hill) was very rushed and ended very abruptly. I would recommend booking a skip the line ticket for entry in to the Colosseum/Roman Forum/Palatine Hill and give the tour a miss- you would probably see more rather than trying to chase a guide around for 2-3 hours.

We had an amazing time following David Battaglino around Rome. His dry wit, personable attitude, and wealth of information kept us all laughing and fascinated. He also took special care to make sure the children in our group were entertained. We loved our tour so much we signed up for his Pantheon tour in the evening, which was also excellent!
He finished both tours with a barrage of recommendations, all of which have turned out to be on point. The best food in Rome! Very highly recommend this tour guide, and this is coming from a die hard do-it-yourself sightseer. He may have converted me.

While the tour guide Rocky was good and we had an enjoyable time with him, I was disappointed the timing in each section is not as advertised which is 50 minutes in each of the 3 parts. It was an 1.5 hours in the colosseum, 10 minutes outside of the colosseum about the old roads and the front of the forum, and then 15 minutes at palatine hill. We did not walk and tour the forum. Some bigger buildings of the forum were pointed out while on the top of palatine hill. But that was it. The forum is what I was most looking forward to. Since the tickets do end at palatine hill/the forum we went down on our own and tried to listen into other group tours. Next time we go to Italy, whenever that may be I think I'll book a private tour for the forum.

We do a city tour or two everytime ee visit a new city, most are good, fun, informative and helpful. However today was quite simply the best ever with our guide David Battaglino who made the tour plain and simple. His refeshing, open, honest and funny style and delivery made him stand out from any guides I have had in the past. We are going back to Rome and will definitely seek him out for another tour or two.

The tour was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Rome. Radu was largely responsible for this! He was extremely knowledgeable and presented facts and stories in a way that kept everyone engaged. Looking at other tour groups made me happy to have been with City Walkers and especially Radu. Would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants a tour with a guide who is passionate, funny, and loves what they do!

Meh
The Guide we’ll call him “L” seemed very bored most of the time and from the beginning his voice was monotone and unenthusiastic. He didn’t seem to really wake up until about one hour into the tour. For a group size of 30 people, you would think the guide would be engaging and have some interesting stories but he talked a lot about building materials and just plain observations, even had periods where he didn’t seem to know what to talk about next. We spent hardly any time in the Roman Forum, most of that area on Palatine Hill with “free time”. I think the guide was knowledgeable but doesn’t know how to hold a crowd at all. Considering the price we paid and the size of our group, I was expecting so much more. My family (big group of adults) was completely underwhelmed by this tour and that’s sad because I know the Colosseum has a lot to offer. Also I would highly discourage going during summer, too hot and crowded. This was my second time visiting the Colosseum and fall is better.

Would highly recommend city walkers. We had Jessica guide us around the colosseum who was extremely informative. We then joined David who took us around the roman forum & palatine hill, he made the tour so enjoyable with his sense of humour and hidden facts. We also met with him later on in the evening to roam the pantheon which I would 100% recommend, full with recommendations of where to eat and more to end the tour!

We were on the English speaking tour which was really fun and highly informative. You will not be bored.

Our tour guide Radu had so much energy and kept our attention the whole time. We really valued his expert ancient history knowledge, myth-busting and dramatic re-enactments. If you’re curious you can also ask Radu any question and he always answered with so much depth. I felt sorry for anyone not on our tour, as Radu had so much charisma that people walking by would often stop and latch on to the back of our tour to hear one of his amazing factual stories.

The tour is the perfect amount of time with a break in between so that you can fill up for water and use the bathroom. There’s also a small opportunity for your photo to be taken in a prime spot overlooking the Colosseum, which Radu will take for you with a variety of different angles for the perfect insta snapshot!

You also get given a headphone and a little device so that you can hear everything your tour guide is saying - there’s nothing worse than their voice being drowned out by background noise.

Overall this tour is excellent value for money and really great if you want to know the real history behind Rome.
