We booked this tour same day in person, after our previously booked tour with a different group cancelled on us. This tour for €69 per person exceeded our expectations!!! Dennis was an incredible, knowledgeable guide and showed us the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, and the Colosseum. He moved at a good pace and our tour was capped at 26 people (there were a bunch of tours leaving at the same time, 3pm), and we all had one-eared headphones to hear Dennis talking even if we were roaming around the sites. We expected the tour to be 2 1/2 to 3 hrs, and it was about 3 hrs 10 mins ending in the Colosseum, so people could spend even more time there if they wanted. Amazing tour that was a highlight of our trip to Rome!!!

Our 8 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the nearly-three hour tour of the Forum and Colosseum, so it was a success for our family! It was his big birthday wish while we were visiting friends in Rome, so he went into the situation already very interested, and we were not disappointed. We all enjoyed the tour guide Marchus, who seemed very well educated in the history of the place, and he brought in a lot of historical context throughout the tour. It was super hot, so I think the group was a bit too exhausted to really engage with Marchus and ask a lot of questions, but he kept up the enthusiasm amazingly on his end through the heat, even without a lot of feedback from an overheated group of tourists. We stopped for water at the fountains along the way, so bring a water bottle that you can refill. Maybe it was a bit pricey as far as tours go, but we weren’t disappointed at all, and anyway that’s what you get when you book your son’s biggest birthday wish at the last minute.

I booked a small English tour of the Roman forum and the colosseum with arena access and it was really easy to find the place we had to meet. The group was small which was very nice and the tour guide was excellent. He was friendly and very informative and clearly very passionate about the city’s history which made for an even better experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Ancient Rome and learn a lot about it at the same time, well worth the money !

Flavia's knowledge and communication on so many levels was fantastic. Her insights gave a depth to this experience that was welcome and really enhanced our experience. I highly recommend this tour if you want a thorough understanding of what you are seeing all around you.
On a logistic note, her professionalism was highly evident despite the large group she had to manage. The day of our tour was dreadfully hot. She made a point when stopping to speak to the group to have us all in shade whenever possible and made sure we were able to refill our water bottles frequently. There was an excellent balance to keep moving, but enough time to take in sights and take pictures. I did wish there was an earlier bathroom break.

Our tour guide was great. While she was very knowledgeable she was also determined to give us our money's worth. It was pouring rain and she kept checking with the group if we wanted to go on. We did and she did, never cutting any corners.

Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, really brought the Collesium to life especially for an 11 year old. Much better than a school history lesson. The heat was almost unbearable but he took this into account and talked in shaded areas where possible.
I would recommend this tour..
August is a very hot month in Rome, hotter than I'd imagined which was apparently down to its 3rd heatwave. Probably around 35deg by noon. We'd booked the 10am tour.
We had to leave the tour at the Roman Fort due to having pre cruise Covid test and also it was just so hot.
Be prepared to walk a fair bit in places the ground is a little uneven, there are also a few steep steps, prob 20-25.
Take water with you, it's essential in August.

Actual tour around the colosseum and palatine gardens very good, however if under the age of 40 I would recommend not bothering with this tour, over priced extra 20 euro a head just for someone to speak none stop down your ear for 3 hours. If the information given was interesting and relevant then this would make the tour better. However, Andrara was too interested in explaining every little detail about some silly rocks rather than the colosseum as a whole an the history behind it. I didn’t come half way accross the word and spend 45 euro to stare at some rocks and Motor for half of the tour.

My wife and I do not normally do guided tours but we had been warned that queues into certain places would be very long and that the pre-booked tours get priority access inside. With that in mind we decided that the best use of our time in Rome was to book tours, but I have to admit, I’m a changed man now, we’ll be booking many more tours on our future travels.

Our tour guide, Andrada, was incredible. She was so passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Forum as well as Rome in general. She was very friendly and approachable and was always happy to answer any questions or advise on other places to visit.

When you arrive at the meeting place (which is not necessarily the Colosseum) you are divided up into groups, assigned a guide and then all given little radios with headphones. These were great, we had no technical issues with them at all and they allowed you to freely look around and take photos as you wanted, even when you’re in more crowded areas you do not have to worry too much about being separated as you can always hear your guide well.

I almost feel that going to the colosseum and surrounding areas without a guide is a waste of time, as you will only get 10% of the story and understanding of these impressive structures and the history of the people who built and used them.

Our guide made our tour. Andrada(?) was so full of information, painting verbal pictures for us, passionate about her subject, fun, engaging and witty. I was a bit dubious about the single earbud audio system but could hear her really well whether stood next to her or at the back of our group of approx 25 people, toiling up the Palatine Hill or slowly negotiating the many steps within the Colosseum.
Finding the original meeting place was a little tricky, so leave plenty of time. It's a vast site and even though the tour lasted well over 3 hours we only scratched the surface. And ask questions - later in the day we had a whole list of things we wished we could ask Andrada once the experience had sunk in!
It is tiring - wear sensible shoes, bring water and don't expect to sit down much. Oh - and use the loos near the start of the tour as it might be the only chance. My other tip is don't forget the gift shop. We did, and really regretted it. I hear it's very good.

Guide was pleasant and informative. Looked after everyone well in very hot conditions, in which a couple of members of the group struggled. The area covered is huge and to see and discuss everything would take a week, so he did well to cover what he could. I recommend doing a little research about the history and area yourselves to ensure you don’t miss anything you may want to see.
