We spent two weeks in Europe (Greece and Italy), and we took a dozen tours during that time. This tour was at the top of our list of best experiences. We stopped at 7 or 8 places for food or drink, and Gretta was a wealth of knowledge about the food and the neighborhoods. Having a guide who is passionate about their job makes the experience worthwhile, and she was passionate. We learned more about the history of the neighborhoods we visited than we learned on some of the history tours we took! Dinner in the old theatre was the perfect blend of history and fine Italian cuisine. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to break away from the tourist scene and enjoy the best of Italian cuisine in places Roman's prefer to dine.

As a foodie and a lover of Roman History and Art this was quite literally the perfect experience. I decided to do this tour as a way to finish my visit to Rome, and I ended up having a beautiful evening filled with gloriously prepared food, wine and history of the city which was lead by our tour guide, Alessandra. For me, I think she made the tour so special as her love of the city and Art history knowledge came through in everything she told us. We started off in the Jewish Ghetto and made our way through to Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori. The tour was definitely a food tasting but we tried over 8 different foods, a mixture of street food and one sit down meal where we tried the pasta dishes. It was definitely enough for a whole meal so come hungry! If you are both a foodie and a lover of history, I definitely recommend this tour.

I planned this for out first activity upon arrival in Rome and it was everything we’d hoped it would be. A perfect orientation to the center of Ancient Rome, an introduction to the delicious food of Rome and an educational and entertaining immersion into the Jewish Ghetto/Navona area in which we were staying for 5 days. Our guide Simona— a historian (and amateur comedienne— she was delightful and hilarious) was a joy and really knew her stuff! The food, the company, and the amount of learning made this the perfect way to begin our stay in Rome!

Learning the history of the Jewish Ghetto was fascinating. Guilia our tour guide was excellent! She was so very knowledgeable about all of the city’s history and made sure that all of us got the best experiences, trying the local foods, pasta, pizza, fried artichokes, as well as expresso, gelato and tiramisu and seeing all of the wondrous fountains, squares and monuments.

She was fantastic, The tour was awesome! Highly recommend the tour and Guilia!!

The food and drink tour we went on was absolutely brilliant the tour guide was so friendly,
It taught us loads of tips we wouldn't of know in and around Rome.
Every stop the there was enough food for everyone and even had out own plates of food and individual gelato.

I can't recommend this enough it was worth every single penny.

Only one criticism the guide could do with a microphone as some places were really busy and people among us talking it made some thing difficult to hear so had to piece together what she said.

Amazing food and Guilia was such a lovely guide, with just the right amount of talk/historic info during the walking portion. It’s a great time to see Rome (post lockdown, less tourists), and the stops on the tour are well chosen. I won’t give away the food choices, but they’re all fab! If you’re a real wine fan, the tour is outweighed by food (just two wines), but otherwise I’d highly recommend it.

We were extremely lucky to have the tour guide to ourselves which made the whole tour even better. In between the historic visits where our guide was extremely knowledgeable we had seven different courses in different locations.

We started off with Artichokes, followed by cheese and wine and then into a shop to try the roman pizza. Next was our main meal which was in restaurant whose cellars had the remains of an old theatre. Then we had Tiramisu, followed by the most creamy coffee I have ever tasted ending with some very tasty ice cream.

The whole tour took about three an a half hours and it was worth every penny. I can really recommend doing this. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

We found that our tour guide had limited English language skills and was not very fluid in expressing her ideas. She also didn’t seem to know some basic facts about the Jewish Ghetto. (Ie. She didn’t know how many Jews lived in that sector during WW2 and how many live there now or in Rome so she had to google it to find out. She told us “a lot lived there”! She would mention Popes but never distinguished who they were.

We were under the impression that we would be spending most of our time in the Jewish section but it seemed to only be the first part of the tour. The food was good and there was a good sampling of Italian cuisine and wine. We did suggest that the guide sit in the middle of a table rather than an end so all guests could hear her. It was a disappointing experience.

An outstanding tour that combined history of Rome with great food, adult beverages. It was a treat for the senses while giving us an overview of Rome. We have already told our travel agent to recommend it. Our tour guide Dani made all the participants feel included while she provided knowledgeable detailed information. Bravo for a five star tour.
