Overview

The Colosseum, a 1st-century amphitheater, is one of Rome’s most recognizable landmarks—and it’s just as incredible inside. Breeze past the entrance lines on this skip-the-line tour, which also covers the heart of Ancient Rome. Perfect for first-time visitors, this tour allows you to tick off the Roman Forum—where you'll also skip the line—Capitoline Hill, and the world-famous gladiatorial arena even in limited time.

What to Expect

Begin your tour with hotel pick-up before heading to Rome’s well-preserved historic center, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Skip the lines outside the Colosseum with VIP admission tickets and step inside to marvel at the ruins of the amphitheater. Wander at your leisure while listening to stories of the ancient gladiators and wild beasts that entertained up to 60,000 spectators at a time with their gory battles.

Continue your visit of some of the world’s oldest surviving structures at the Roman Forum, the seat of ancient political power, where you'll also jump the lines. Your guide will explain the gods of the ancient world and the foundations of our Zodiac signs. Learn how the pagan festival of Saturnalia—in honor of the planet Saturn— evolved into Christmas celebrations. You’ll also visit the remains of the Temple of the Vestal Virgins, where priestesses kept alive the sacred fire of Vesta.

The tour concludes with a panoramic view of the ancient city from Capitoline Hill, the smallest and most picturesque of Rome’s legendary seven hills.

Beautiful day in Rome to see the Colosseum and Forum

Sunny skies and clean air. Giuliano was a knowledgeable guide and a sharp dresser. We learned a lot about the history and recycled uses of the area, and had a great time! Superb value.

Our guide Luisa was fantastic!

Before booking, my father and I were asked which specific subjects interested, and our guide Luisa's high level of knowledge went above and beyond my expectations. Her English was excellent, and she patiently answered all of our many questions in great detail. My 87-year old...More

I would email Eyes of Rome. Our tour was 195 euros and was worth every penny. A little expensive but you definitely get your money’s worth. I can’t recommend them strongly enough.

Hello. That sounds very high. Did you specify the amount of time for your private tour i.e. 3-4 hours, 5-6 hours, all in one area or multiple places? For our tour in April there were four of us and I think it came to... More

We didn't request that. You should check on the website to see for sure. Our tour did not include access.
