I was unsure when booking as it seemed quite expensive and was concerned it might be rushed to fit so much into a day, but it was well worth every penny.

Overall a great experience, made so much better by our very informative Argentinian guide (I think Luisana) who managed to memorize everyone's name and country which made the experience much more personal as she referred to everyone throughout the tour which was a nice touch.

The tour does last a good 7 hours or so, it does get very hot and much of your time will be outside, so you need to be prepared for sun exposure and bring plenty of water. One aspect that was not made clear in the itinerary was details of any breaks during the tour, we did stop for 1 hour to have lunch before going into the Vatican.

Unfortunately we took the wrong exit going through the Vatican's chapel and so got separated from the group towards the end and did not get to say goodbye and thank you to our guide, so for anyone else you need to go via the rear exit next to the large wooden doors....or just listen to the guides instructions.

By far the highlight was the Coliseum and having a guide meant you learnt so much more about the history rather than just walking past unaware of the significance of various aspects of the structure.

The only negative was that after doing Rome in a day, we had no idea what to do on the second day onwards other than rest....and eat.

Fast pace tour that takes you to the main sites in Rome. Our tour guide was also an archeologist so he was very knowledgeable about the ancient sites. I liked skipping the line in the Colosseum and the Vatican museums. These sites tend to be very crowded with long lines. I just want to emphasize this is a 99% walking tour. We took a very short ride on the air-conditioned bus. I would of like to spend more time in the Vatican museums but the large crowds and tour guides move you right along.

We had two full days in Rome and this tour was THE BEST way to see the major sights. Our guide, Luigi, was fun, energetic and brought the history to life. There were 18 people in our group and we each had a radio with earpiece to hear our guide. This was helpful because the sights were crowded and if we got separated from him, it was possible to keep up with the narrative. Luigi made frequent stops to ensure the group was together.

We started at the Colosseum, then passed the Forum, Vittoriano, Trevi Fountain, Panthenon, Piazzo Navona then took a bus to the Vatican. Along the way, he pointed out other minor sights. We had 90 minutes for lunch and enjoyed Luigi's recommendation (Amalfi Ristorante). The rest of the afternoon was spent at the Vatican where he gave us an in-depth understanding about the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums.

This tour is informative and takes you to the major sights in an efficient manner, i.e. avoiding the entrance lines. You WILL get your steps in on this day!! We walked about 7 miles in total. Note that there's a lot of standing as the guide explains things so wear comfortable shoes.

We only had a few days in Rome, so we booked Rome-in-a-Day to see as many sights as we could. Our guide, Gigi, was DELIGHTFUL. Very knowledgeable, warm, engaging, and very funny. He made the historical sights come alive with his descriptions of significant historical events along the way. I highly recommend this tour to any who want to see as much of Rome as possible in a day! Tips: bring a refillable water bottle. The ladies must have shoulders and knees covered to enter the Vatican, but they seemed to have no problem with men wearing knee length shorts (it was a very hot day). Comfy shoes are a must!

We liked the nice facts that were brought up, from switching to ancient facts to how it is used today and what led to it. The Colosseum facts of the phallow, urinals, and pointing out small details throughout the walk were amazing to hear. The quality of the first microphone was very very good. The Vatican one was not bad but not as good as the first one. I enjoyed the storytelling of each historical place, statue, tapestry. Nick was incredibly knowledgeable and funny. Nick as a host was also very accommodating - we had an elder couple who had no idea what they purchased and was able to facilitate them to the best ability and was incredibly patient. The walk was as expected but the experience is a must. It’s going to be a long day but that’s because you’re trying to see it all in a day! Nick also accommodated us to the exit of the Vatican Museum which was incredibly nice seeing we could get lost easily. He also pointed us to a very memorable lunch place as well as directions to St Peters Square and where to pick up taxis. If I had the time, I would like to go on another tour with Nick but for St. Peter’s. It was a bit of a long day but we definitely could’ve stuck around for more. There will be a lot of people even though we started the 9:30am to I believe 4pm. And I mean, A LOT of people. But that comes with the touring. If you want a lot of empty pics, you’re gona have to go at night or stupid early mornings. I didn’t care though, this was dope.

This was a fabulous way to see the city on foot. The day started at a meeting point close to the Coliseum and ended at Vatican City and covered pretty much every noteworthy site in between. Our guide was Luigi and he was incredibly knowledgeable. We learnt loads about the history and make-up of Rome from past to present.

We would highly recommend this way of getting about but do remember that it's a walking tour so take sensible shoes and something to drink with you.

Andrea was our guide, he was amazing!! Incredibly knowledgable and answered tons of questions. The tour itself was great, we skipped a lot of the long que’s and had audio equipment (very small and easy to carry), so the whole group didn’t have to huddle round to hear our guide.

We saw so many amazing sights in Rome and had time to take pictures, absorb what was said, ask questions and take in all the sights.

Timings of the tour were good, full on but great value for money! Lunch areas were recommended (we went to a beautiful organic restaurant near the Vatican City).

Really impressed with the quality of information and how well it was organised.

I’d highly recommend this trip!! The only downside for me was the availability to go to a loo (as it was so full on, and there are huge que’s for public toilets, be aware of this when you go), particularly near the Collesium!

Also a ton of walking up and down steps - wear sensible shoes!!!

Wonderfully informed, talkative guide Francesco. He had an artistic bent and explained arcing themes of history and architecture. A slightly cynical bent made his commentary authentic and believable.
He ensured our comfort with explicit instructions for the tour, including rest rooms/water stops road crossings, lunch suggestions - all on a hot day. He was mostly accessible to answer questions.
2 suggestions to make even better- have the guide take group around interior of St Peters rather than end at the outside. And warn a bit more clearly that the tour ends miles away from its start and that you are responsible for your own way back. (At least city buses were free).

Fantastic tour which gave us a good detailed guide on all the best must see sites in Rome. Our tour guide Ambra was brilliant, so knowledgeable and very helpful, she was engaging and happy to answer any questions. The skip the line access was definitely worth the extra money as the queues in the regular line were very long, especially at the Vatican. Thank you for this experience!

Rome in a day was an absolutely brilliant way to see this beautiful city with speedy access to all the sites, as with all guided tours the guide is integral to the experience and I have to say that luigi our guide was masterful. The charismatic way he showed his passion and love of both Rome and Italy was there for all to see and the 8 hour tour genuinely flew. The tour itself was jaw dropping.... this city is unbelievable and I'd encourage anybody who is coming to Rome to take this tour as you will see all of the main attractions but many more hidden gems that would otherwise be missed. Thank you luigi so much
