About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- styles00240 contributionsPaolo was a great guideThe tour was great. Paolo was an expert in every way. His passion and knowledge for Roman history led to one of the best parts of our trip to Italy. It was our first time at Pompeii and we hope to return.Written 23 January 2025
- Tyler C0 contributionsFantastico!BOOK IT! Paolo is the best tour guide we’ve experienced. Extremely knowledgeable, took his time explaining things and went out of his way to make sure the entire group got the photos they needed. Really easy to find the tour operator and loved everything they showed us.Written 21 January 2025
- A2201AEjohnb0 contributionsGulia, Thank YouGulia WAS AN AMAZING GUIDE🥳 Don’t let her short jokes about her little flag stick “so you can find her”fool you. She was an absolute powerhouse of knowledge, fun to be with and passionate about Pompeii and the surrounding area. John & Joana BWritten 17 January 2025
- henryw5020 contributionsWe dig Diego and Pompeii!Diego was an absolutely amazing guide. He was so informative and took time to explain all of the history and also explain elements of the archaeological process. The audio headsets allowed us to linger a little at certain parts and still hear the narration until we caught up and could be closer. We could have spent all day there with Diego!Written 16 January 2025
- AandA_70 contributionsA wonderful way to experience Pompeii!Anna Sorento was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and an excellent storyteller. She brought Pompeii to life, while also giving us the insights of an archeologist.Written 16 January 2025

- sisteradventures0 contributionsExcellent tour and experiencePompeii was incredible and our guide, Sergio was very knowledgable. We covered a lot of ground and history in 2 hours and feel like we got to see the highlights of the city as well as places we would have had a hard time finding on our own. Highly recommend!Written 12 January 2025
- jstern1170 contributionsGreat Tour of Pompeii and HerculaneumThis tour was "Pompeii and Herculaneum Small Group tour with an Archaeologist Tour + Transport from Naples," and we went on Jan. 9, 2025, with Askos Tours. Raphael was our guide and he was terrific - very knowledgeable and entertaining and we all learned so much. We were picked up in Naples in the morning in a very nice van with 15 total people on the tour. We saw Pompeii and had lunch there (not included in price) and then toured Herculaneum, and we returned to Naple well before 5pm. It was a wonderful day.Written 12 January 2025
- Bayley S0 contributionsA wonderful expert made for a great experienceThe guide we had was extremely knowledgeable and a true expert on the subject. She was able to not only thoughtfully explain in detail where we were and what we were looking at but was also able to give her opinions and interpretations as an expert in the subject. I am so glad I decided to book with a guided tour rather than an audio guide or amisly wandering around the ruins myself.Written 12 January 2025
- hughj5220 contributionsFantastic guided tour of pompeiFantastic guided tour …our guide (Sergio) was so helpful and brought pompei to life …we stayed on for 2-3 hours to see the rest of the site…highly recommended to have a guide unless you know pompei alreadyWritten 12 January 2025

- Kenny1006530 contributionsBucket List doneWhat an amazing site. Luckily our guide - we booked through a travel agent based in Europe - was an archaeologist who has worked on the Pompeii site and his knowledge was invaluable. I was amazed at the extent of the site as it was much bigger than I had imagined. Our 2 hour tour touched the surface of the whole project and being in a place that once thrived over 2,000 years ago was for me quite an emotional experience. If I had the time ……. Well worth almost any cost. A must see site.Written 11 January 2025

My wife and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, and after a long day of traveling from the U.S. and landing in Italy at 6 am, Askos Tours was an excellent decision for a private car transfer from Naples to Sorrento. We stopped for a 2-hour private tour led by an archaeologists - he was knowledgeable, detailed, friendly, and a pleasure for our two hours. Our driver, Giovanni, was wonderful. He met us at the airport early and safely helped us on our way from the airport to Hurculaneum to Sorrento. He was pleasant, friendly, and a pleasure. Great first experience in Italy!

Hi - We will be travelling from Rome to Sorrento - and will take a train to Naples. We would want to meet a tour guide in Naples, then tour Pompeii (while we leave suitcases in the car), and then get a ride to Sorrento. Are their tours that offer this service?
