- njcavalier0 contributionsPicturesque, history-filled Regensburg! We thoroughly enjoyed our guided walking tour of Regensburg. The picturesque old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is filled with historic gems from different eras. Among these are the remains of the Roman gate and walls that date to the 2nd century. Also of interest are the 12th-century Stone Bridge that spans the Danube and the twin-spired 13th-century St. Peter Cathedral, both major emblems of the city. An unexpected treat — just across from the entrance to the magnificent cathedral — was the building that served as Napoleons headquarters during the 1809 Battle of Regensburg. Yet another surprise was the Historic Sausage Kitchen of Regensburg near the Stone Bridge. Said to be the longest continuously-operated public restaurant in the world, it is housed in a building that was erected in 1135 (!) and which was originally the construction office of the Stone Bridge. A guided tour of the Old Town of Regensburg is very much worthwhile. I highly recommend it.Written 23 January 2025

- winniel4340 contributionsA great place to see Passau and 3 rivers joining togetherThe view is great. We saw Passau old town and 3 rivers joined together. The castle does not have much to see and the museum is so so.Written 26 August 2024
- Z5544LOpeterh0 contributionsHome of Baroque Classical MusicLocated in the former East Germany, this central German city has been home to renowned baroque classical musicians namely Bach (father and sons), Schumann, Mendelssohn, Wagner among others. It was partially destroyed during WWII so it has a combination of original, reconstructed and new buildings all side by side. Another historic importance was the 1989 protest that called for German reunification. It’s a walkable city, all of which can be seen in a day.Written 14 July 2024

As a first-time visitor, I found the tour perfect for getting acquainted with the city's top attractions. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, providing fascinating insights into Freiburg's history and culture. The tour covered beautiful spots like the Freiburg Cathedral and the scenic Old Town. - The_Concierge_80 contributionsMust do a guided tour of Goslar to see all the history and hidden gems! Best done in sneakers as it's all cobblestones! There are so many layers to Goslar as an UNESCO World heritage town that you won't know where to start and what to see. We spent more than 90 minutes with an english-speaking guide that took us into all the narrow winding alleyways to all the main attractions and hidden gems, especially the oldest buildings. We saw special features of the architecture, learned about the history of Goslar, religion, power, art, business - so varied in its content. It was rather long and we were getting to the point where we just couldn't walk much more. There aren't many places to sit so just tell your guide when you've had enough as they are so passionate about the town that they'll happily go on. But they are highly knowledgeable and can answer just about any question anyone has.Written 2 March 2024
- Sharie94710 contributionsGreat inner city and historical journey await you!Claudia was our energetic guide to bring Rothenberg to light. We walked through the Gallows tower gate and began our journey through a medieval era of Rothenberg. We walked through the town learning beautiful historical facts of this town. I wish we had more time to stay and learn. There’s gems waiting to be discovered as you walk along the inner walls! Great guide, great tour! Highly recommend!Written 18 December 2023
- lissi170 contributionsBeautiful Historic CityThere were no English tours to join but the Information Center were excellent in offering a self guided map (€2) with all the highlights and explanations. Although we didn’t get the full experience we loved every moment walking this beautiful historic city.Written 29 November 2023

- ilyasR5620DJ0 contributionsGreat Koblenz experienceHighly recommend visiting the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and this tour in particular. We took the Seilbahn (cable car) from the Deutsches Eck up to the fortress, took a short walk to the entrance and met our guide there. We had an excellent local guide, with professional knowledge of history and very good english -- could not wish a better guide. The views of the city from above are another reason to visit.Written 17 July 2023
