Overview
Get ready to explore St. Pauli’s world-famous red-light district around Reeperbahn street, as well as the Port of Hamburg on this 2.5-hour tour. First explore the Port of Hamburg, and catch sight of the Landungsbrücken (landing stages) and the Soviet submarine B-515 (also known as U-434). From the port, go on a ferry ride through the harbor to St. Pauli. Then take off through St. Pauli, and see sights such as the Beatles-Platz, Hans-Albers-Platz, and walk down Große Freiheit and Herbertstraß.
What to Expect
This 2.5-hour guided walking tour departs at 7 p.m. outside the clock tower near the Port of Hamburg.

Hamburg’s world-famous red-light district stretches along either side of the Reeperbahn, the charmingly kitsch backbone of the proudly alternative St. Pauli. Its foundations as a refuge and self-made colony led it to develop into one of Hamburg’s most vibrant and welcoming districts. The legendary nightlife that makes it so popular highlights the tolerance of a neighborhood that has seen (and survived) it all: riots, prostitution, drugs, organized crime, world wars, booms, and busts.

Hamburg’s relationship with St. Pauli is complex. Its raw (and sometimes raunchy) edge stands in contrast with the image the rest of the city exudes, yet is an integral part of what makes Hamburg the much-loved city it is. New buildings and renovations compete with the thousands of residents who fight to keep the character of their colorful neighborhood. St. Pauli draws millions of visitors a year, and makes a massive contribution to the economy and fame of the city.

Along your way you'll see many important sights, including the Port of Hamburg, the Landungsbrücken (landing stages), the St. Pauli football club, the Davidwache police station, the Nobistor gatepost, Beatles-Platz, Altona Fish Market, U-434 (a Soviet spy submarine), Hans-Albers-Platz, and the Millerntor Gate.

The tour concludes in the area of the Altona Fish Market at about 9:30 p.m.
