Essential Hamburg Combo: Hop-on Hop-off Tour, Cruise and Lake Alster
US$ 48.15
Overview
Enhance your Hamburg experience with a hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour by land and water! Aboard a double-decker bus, pass main city attractions and disembark at any of the 28 stops for close-up views of sights like St Michael Church and the renowned Reeperbahn red-light district. Your ticket includes two 60-minute boat trips through Hamburg’s historic harbor and Lake Alster. Do everything in one day, or spread the three activities over three consecutive days!
What to Expect
Discover the highlights of Hamburg by double-decker bus and boat with a hop-on hop-off sightseeing pass! To start your land adventure, head to St Pauli port or Central Station and hop on the bus. Grab a comfortable seat, relax and enjoy the flexibility of determining you own itinerary and pace.

You'll have the option to ride the entire 90-minute loop or disembark at any of the 28 stops (full itinerary listed below) to explore top city landmarks like Town Hall, the German expressionist Chilehaus, St. Pauli fish market and Hamburg’s famous Reeperbahn red-light district. Bonus: Head to a 17th century teahouse in the historic Krameramt district (St Michael Church stop) for a complimentary cup of tea!

For a glimpse of Hamburg’s maritime history, hop off at St Pauli port and transfer to a harbor cruise boat. (Cruise runs from April to October only.) Along the 60-minute roundtrip cruise, enjoy commentary in German and English about the rich history of Hamburg’s international trade. Catch impressive views of the city’s key harbor-side landmarks such as Harbor City, the picturesque warehouse district and the eye-catching Elbphilharmonie concert hall.

Enrich the day by adding on another leisurely cruise through Lake Alster. Ride the sightseeing bus to Jungfernstieg Passage, where your lake float begins. Settle in for an hour of panoramic sightseeing, listen to an interesting audio tour, and snap photos of Hamburg’s lovely lakeside neighborhoods.

To end your tour, simple disembark at any of the stops. Easy!

Note: Your single-day ticket offers the option of splitting up your tour across three separate (consecutive) days. Each leg may only be taken once.

Bus tour

This was all right but too many references to where the rich and famous live and the cost of houses. The forced laughter of one passenger was wearying after a time. But a good way to see the city centre.

Both boat trips are nice but the bus experience is quite poor

Both boats were nice. Interesting to see the port and the lake was beautiful under the rain. However, the bus was a poor experience; there was a person giving a live explanation in German so loud that it was difficult to enjoy the recorded ones...More

Not worth going if you don't speak German

As the other reviewer noted, non-stop live commentary in German. The recorded playback was out of sync much of the time. No wifi and no credit cards accepted. That is very unusual now. We like hop on hop off in general but this one was...More

Loud Non Stop Commentary in German

We took the hop on hop off service and although we got to see the entire city, the tour guide (in the bus), spoke non Stop throughout the entire trip, which was rather weird given there is ear phones and people can tune into their...More

If it is Hampton by Hilton City Center, the hotel is close to the Hauptbahnof. So that might be your best bet since most hop on hop off tours depart from there although you can check at the hotel if there is a closer... More

Depends on which tour company you choose. Normally, there is a bus every half an hour during the day.
