About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- cjyap0 contributionsA great tour and wonderful dayMy group of 4 adults really enjoyed this tour. I loved that all the planning and logistics was taken care of for us. We met the bus in Downtown and were first taken to Linderhof Castle then to Neuschwanstein. Along the way, our guide gave us information about what we were passing, and where we were heading. There are beverages and restrooms on the bus. The entrance fees to both Linderhof and Neuschwanstein Castle could be bought on the bus. Once we arrived at each castle, we were clearly given a return time. Both castles provide a guided tour. You are not allowed to take photos inside either Castle. Both tours were set for a specific time. This allows you, especially at Neuschwanstein to walk around, have a meal etc. Of course, don't miss your time slot. One word about Neuschwanstein, it is not handicap friendly. To get to the castle it is a walk straight up a steep hill. There is a horse drawn shuttle, but the line to get on is long, there's a fee and it only takes you up half of the hill. I saw a lot of people with dogs and strollers. These are not allowed in the castle, so I have no idea what or where those people put them. We went on one of the prettiest days. While cold, the sky was clear, everything was covered with sparkling, icy snow, giving it a magical feel. The ride to the Castles was beautiful as well as the Castles themselves.Written 17 February 2025
- GmarcM0 contributionsExtraordinary experienceOur Tour guide Jacqueline was amazing. Very knowledgeable and guided us well throughout the trip. Very please to have her abroad on both our tours,Written 6 February 2025
- rubenjE7799WP0 contributionsHaina and Smiley great service. The tour was great Haina and Smiley were great on particular Haina who was very helpful. The only problem is that the tour ad does not give you approximate times of arrival to the castles being Linderhof and Neuschwanstein, I had previously purchased admission tickets to both castles and it was quiet an adventure to change times but thankfully it was resolve and all good at the end. It would help if the operator gives estimate times of arrival to the castles that way if you buy tickets in advance you don’t go through the same problem I did or buy the tickets on the bus.Written 1 February 2025
- Jonahcardiff0 contributionsWonderful dayout, another ticked off the listExcellent full day out, timing and arrangements worked like clockwork; Romantic Road scenic, Rothenburg amazing and castle tour interesting; probably could have done with a bit more dialogue en route, still had a great dayWritten 31 January 2025
- JohnRWebb0 contributionsDay Trip by Coach to Castle and RothenburgEarly start to get on the coach for this trip and after arriving first when allowed to board coach others were asked by guide to board before us. The journey to castle was good and not too long. The guide taking us around the castle rushed us from area to area to keep in front of group 2 following us. Not given enough time to enjoy each area fully for price of 10 euros charged. Rothenburg arrived next and our coach guide took us all to show us things to do to see and where to have lunch at. We had lunch there and found our food to be both very tasty plentiful and not expensive for what we ordered. Rothenburg we found very pretty and we very much liked the Christmas museum and shop, along with our walk around the city walls taking many photos. Returning was a 3 hour journey back to Munich before we left the coach. Enjoyable day apart from castle rush which lost it one star we felt John & Sue Norfolk UKWritten 22 January 2025

- ddev540 contributionsTake this tour with Deyse! The premium tour to Neuschwannstein was better than we had hoped! We did this with our adult children and 6 year old grandson. Our tour guide, Deyse, was great! She gave us SO much information, prepared us well for our independent time and made this tour much better than if we had done it all on our own. The driver did a great job making sure we always had refreshments and, of course, got us to and from Neuschwannstein safely. We have done many tours and this was one of the nicest, most comfortable tour busses we have been on and having the refreshment bar was an added perk!Written 1 January 2025

The tour we experienced was good. However, we were very disappointed in the tour operator. They were aware days in advance that Eagles Nest was going to be close due to snow from the prior week and they did not communicate this in advance to participants. Several of us were disappointed to learn the morning of the tour (too late to cancel for refund) when the weather was a clear blue sky and bright sunshine. Additionally, there were 61 participants which is more than the stated maximum 48 participants. The description should be updated! Or Operator provide promised services.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour overall, but we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. We understand your disappointment regarding the late notice about Eagle's Nest being closed. What an amazing tour this was!! Well worth the time and money! While the Eagles Nest isn’t large and doesn’t take a lot of time, it is quite the experience to be there and learn about more of the authentic history and to visually see it. We had very dismal weather which impacted views but really added to the feeling. We walked to the top of the mountain peak. It was surprising that we were all fogged in but just as we were about to board the bus, we looked up and the fog had lifted over the Eagles Nest and we got a great view!
We were fortunate and had Elisabeth as our tour guide and Robert, as our bus driver. Elisabeth is a wealth of knowledge about the WW2 history and much more. Being a tour guide is so obviously not just her job. It is her passion and she exudes this from start to finish. Our day ended in an unfortunate manner as there was much sad flooding in the area and it was difficult to find a route that would allow us to get back to Munich. Robert did an absolutely amazing job of taking us down different backroads, some of which worked and some of which resulted in us having to back up. Both, he and Elisabeth were excellent at maneuvering this unexpected event. Again, highly recommend this tour and the very competent and engaging staff, Elisabeth and Robert.

This was a very informative tour, with an enthusiastic guide, who provides an abundance of interesting nuggets of information about the region, the history and notable accomplishments, throughout the journey. This is clearly what separates such a decision to book, from the chance to go it alone. All is taken care of by the tour company, which makes the very long day, go by with very few setbacks. There was enough time to enjoy and explore the site, because the interiors are rather limited in scope.
The weather is the biggest gamble, which is where Alpine regions can make or break your photo album. We arrived to a prolonged downpour. Views of and from the summit were extremely limited for the entirety of the trip, which was extremely disappointing, especially when you look at the postcards. The documentation museum is well worth time dedicated to it and the audio guide therein, is simply fascinating. The guide and driver combine wonderfully to engage the tour participants for both stretches of the long journey from Munich, pointing out and slowing down (where possible) to allow scope and splendour to be fully absorbed. Highly recommended...if only the weather was as good!

Fantastic tour with Peter who was very knowledgeable and filled us in on all the details of how the hideaway came to be built on the road down. A very comfortable bus and the alpine scenery on route is stunning. At the arrival point there were buses arranged to take our coach up the mountain (short drive) to the Eagles Nest. The Eagles Nest itself didn't disappoint. Breathtaking views. Hard to imagine the terrible decisions that were taken among that beautiful scenery. A nice stop off on way back in Berchtesgaden to admire this pretty town as the Documents Centre was closed. Peter was clear on all the times to be at the different meeting points and we found everything ran smoothly. On the journey back he entertained us with interesting commentary on the areas we were passing through. We were home about an hour late due to traffic so recommend you don't book on a day you need to catch a flight.

Directions were a little lacking in how to find where we were going. We were given a corner, but didn't know we were looking for the busses and not a building. Our guide was good if a bit hard to understand at times, but overall a good experience. Paid for the entry fee on the bus (credit card) as there is a possibility of not being able to get up to the Eagle's Nest if weather is poor.
You take the bus (was no air conditioning, so it was pretty warm) to the base site then transfer to a shuttle bus that takes you up to the elevator to enter the Eagle's Nest. On our day the weather was very cloudy, so unfortunately we did not get a good view of anything.
Then you stop in a quaint little town for a small bit to do a bit of souvenir shopping before the 2 hour drive back.

We really enjoyed the trip. Beatrix, the tour guide, was friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery was incredibly beautiful and there was ample time to see the Eagle's Nest, visit the museum and have lunch. Everything was well organised. The museum was very respectful and moving, with the audio guide included. The listing said that payment for the bus up to the Eagle's Nest would be cash only, but it was actually card payment.

This trip was the centrepiece of our holiday and we had a wonderful time. Lotti was a fantastic guide; friendly, super efficient and incredibly well organised. She added a lot of interesting information on the long drive to and from Obersalzberg and is a real credit to the company. Gary, our driver, was friendly and pleasant too. The only small issue was that the AC on the bus was a little iffy on the journey home, but there was nothing anyone could do about that in the middle of the autobahn and Lotti kept everyone informed and hydrated; she couldn’t have done more!

Elizabeth was an excellent guide with equally excellent English! We learned a lot on this tour from the minute we started our drive out of the city which was appreciated, understanding some of the historical context of the buildings, streets, and districts. The tour was informative, and her instructions were very clear regarding meeting points and times.
One point - there were no wifi or charging capabilities on this bus compared to other tours I have taken in the past, so please plan accordingly since it makes for a very long day!

The trip is a good way to sightsee, since it takes all day. The Autobahn from Munich to Salzburg is not very scenic, but the rest is interesting. Not clear from the description is that this is just the cost of the tour bus, and y you must pay extra for the bus to the top, about 24 euros per person. Also the bunker museum is additional. Overall it probably costs less than a rental car and gas. The views from the top are superb!

Booked this tour for ourselves and our teenager (16yo) for a bit of history. Bit of an early start from the city centre followed by a couple of hours' drive into the German Alps. Very good English speaking guide.
Entrance to Eagles Nest is not included - payment is card only. This is clear in the conditions but worth mentioning. The ticket also gives entrance to the museum.
Eagles Nest is ...weirdly touristy for a place with a dark history. They do a decent Apfelkuchen. The views are stunning of the weather is clear.
The museum (Dokumentationzentrum) is very thoughtfully done and worth the visit.
There is a traditional beerhall type restaurant in the same complex, which does a top Schnitzel and a couple of souvenir shops (which seemed a bit tacky given the history, but such is tourism).
This is worth the trip for the views and for history buffs.

Hi, can this trip be done with 4 years old kid? Is stroller necessary to carry for kid?
Written 5 August 2019
It depends on how much you want to explore when you get to Obersalzberg. You are going to be on a bus for 1/2 the day. Back and forth from Munich, then up and down to Kehlsteinhaus. When you're up at Kehlsteinhaus, there is a lot of exploring you can do further up the mountain peak, down below you can walk to the Document Center, into the Bunkers, over to the remains of the Berghof, etc. So, if your little one is up for exploring that day - you'll definitely get more out of it. I don't recall seeing anyone with strollers - the fold-up umbrella style would be your best bet.
