    What to Expect
Meet your guide and small group of no more than six people at the Central Dock in Marseille’s Old Port, and set out on a walking tour of the city’s historic heart. Follow your guide past the medieval monuments and historic buildings of Le Panier, the city’s oldest neighborhood, as you hear stories of Marseille through the centuries. Learn about the city’s Greek and Roman roots, the Renaissance era, and the years of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution.

Along the way, admire the 17th-century Fort St Jean that guards the Old Port and the modern façade of the neighboring MuCEM; see the striking Cathédrale de la Major; marvel at bold street art; and learn more about the city’s monuments, attractions, and neighborhoods from your guide.

After three hours exploring the city’s street art hotspots, your tour ends back at the Old Port.

I booked this tour 2-3 week in advance as English speaking option. When I got there I realized that it is not uncommon, at least in Marseille, to mix English and French together, so it was me and 2 French couples. Most of this tour...More

A wonderful way to see Marseille on foot. Small group (5 of us) with Ugo who was a fabulous guide. From the outset, there may not seem like a lot of history, but I was actually amazed how much there is after Ugo took us...More

The pickup is at the end of the old Harbour. Cruise ships dock at the dock to the left of the cathedral. Probably a couple of miles away
