- EW-MMD0 contributionsLuxury Private French Rivera tour from MonacoWe stopped in Monaco while on a Mediterranean cruise and used Liven Up for a private tour from Monaco Port. We previously had visited Eze, Nice and the Monte Carlo casino on a prior cruise so we wanted the opportunity to visit some of the other nearby towns. I checked out Liven Up’s website for great ideas, and then contacted them via email. Marion then assisted me with organizing a tour specific tailored to my interests. She was full of great suggestions and quick to reply to my many many questions. She was amazingly helpful and the reason I chose to book with Liven Up. We decided on a visit to Antibes to see the Picasso museum, a stop in St. Paul de Vence with pre-arranged reservations for lunch at a restaurant with a nice view, and a visit to Monte Carlo to drive along the F1 track. We had a great day! Xavier was our very pleasant and knowledgeable driver. He picked us up in a luxury Mercedes Van. We took a scenic drive along the coast to Antibes, which gave me a better understanding of all the different towns situated along the coast. The Picasso museum was a bit underwhelming, but we enjoyed strolling around Antibes and visiting the market. We drove to St Paul de Vence, which is a beautiful and charming hill top town with lots of interesting art galleries. I would have liked to have spent more time there, and my husband and I are already hoping to visit St Paul de Vence again on a return trip next year. We ended our day in Monte Carlo, where we visited the small church, visited the palace, and strolled around the town. We then drove the F1 track back to the Monaco port. Xavier did a great job telling us interesting stories and historical facts about F1. Overall he was a very pleasant, safe, and informative driver. In fact, I would have loved to have had him as a walking guide at each stop because he is so knowledgeable! The tidbits he shared with us while driving were great, however, and we very much enjoyed our day. The tour was costly, but I would say fair given the lavish location (Monaco), luxury transportation, ease of booking, ability to customize the day, and importantly 5 star door to door service with drop off and pick up on time at the port. Liven Up will definitely be my first choice for any tour or transportation needs whenever in the French Rivera. Highly recommended!Written 28 November 2024

Awesome tour to Eze, Monaco, and Monte Carlo. Our guide, Xavier, is extremely knowledgeable and gave us a lot of interesting info about all aspects of Nice, Eze, and Monaco. The group is small enough (6 people) so he had time to answer all of the questions we had, as well as gave some very good recommendations. The tour started with Eze, where we stopped for about an hour to explore the village and about 45 minutes or so in Fragonard perfume factory. The village is absolutely gorgeous. I’m so glad that we visited during winter, although the hotel and most restaurants were closed, but we had a great opportunity to enjoy the village for ourselves without competing photo spots with 2000 other people during peak season. I highly recommend to go up the garden on the top of the village (you have to pay for ticket tho). The panoramic view of the ocean and all the cacti are so worth it. Then the tour continued to Monaco where we stopped at the Prince Palace and had 2 hours to explore and had lunch. We were lucky enough to get here on time for the guard changing event (they started around 11:45am). One thing I love about this tour is that it s kinda like a semi-guided tour where the guide dropped us off at a meeting point and we can freely explore for a certain amount of time before getting picked up. Then we headed to Monte Carlo where we can explore for 45 minutes. The last part of the tour is he drove us on the Formula 1 track where they host Grand Prix every year in May. A huge shoutout to our tour guide Xavier for this great experience. I highly recommend this tour

It was an all day tour that began in Nice, followed by Eze and finally Monaco. The pace of the tour was great and the guide (Sebastian) had excellent knowledge of the area. He is also very funny and lively which was needed for an 8:30am start. We were given information about the area, suggestions for places to eat, places to visit etc. The views at all stops were incredible. If you like a culture tour, I would suggest getting this one. Overall, 5 stars from us! Also very great value for money, worth every penny.

1. Probably he’s too new to be a tour guide. The whole experience is just like we have a Uber driver driving us less than the number of hours as per the itinerary.
2. He didn’t speak much in the car and didn’t use the speaker so we barely heard him except in the first row but he didn’t do the introduction anyway so looking outside the car window still ok with a Uber driver!
3. He just dropped us to the spot and asked us to walk here and there and met us at a particular time. He just mentioned very briefly like “just walked and you would find restaurants to eat”… that’s quite an experience for tourists haven’t been in a place and not knowing French.
4. 15 mins at Monte Carlo which we are supposed to have 30 mins. Driving all the way just for a 15 mins? The whole group felt this is ridiculous!
5. Overall I think this tour guide has no passion and need more training to be a professional tour guide who will brief the people who are so eager to explore and experience the places. We are not impressive at all and also have a not very good impression of the places. Last but not least, what is the tourist guide’s name?

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback, which helps us to improve.
For most of the clients, the microphone is not useful in such a small vehicle and dehumanizes the relationship between the clients and the guide. However, some people find it a necessary comfort.
Our guides usually receive very positive comments regarding their knowledge and skills. They often share this information during the vehicle journey to ensure ample free time at each location. However, we will take your comments into consideration and address any areas for improvement.
We wish you all the best!

Went on an excursion through NCL cruises.
Our tour guide didn't speak very good English, laughed at her own stupid jokes. She wasn't very informative. Got there the people are not very friendly in Monaco. We were told to meet at our drop off location got there couldn't locate our guide there was too many people standing out at the stop. Our guide gave us no information in case we couldn't locate her like a phone number or email would have been good. We ended up missing half the tour and had to spend $200 euro for a taxi to get back to the ship. Beautiful place horrible people, who don't know anything or just have their heads stuck up their b..... h.... Rude and deceptive.

We were staying in Nice and we wanted to see more of the surrounding area. Mac was our guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very considerate. The weather at times was terrible but Mac did his best to work around difficult conditions to make the tour as comfortable and valuable as possible. Time allotted to each stop was limited but sufficient. Overall an excellent experience.

Leó was a joy to be with. He picked us up at our hotel showing up 10 min early, he did not rush us. He was very professional and polite and knew the history of the Nice and Monaco region like the back of his hand, which made the whole experience very interesting and informative. He was honest but polite and did a great job at explaining what life was like in Monaco. He was a safe driver and very nice man. He went out of his way to provide a good experience by stopping for good views and photo opportunities. I would recommend this to any couple or small group looking to get to know the nice and Monaco area.

A day to remember for the rest of our lives! I travelled with my family and we took a day trip to Monaco. Our guide Sabine was excellent. Besides being a pleasant person, she was very professional and a great driver (the roads were narrow and steep) and made us feel safe and comfortable. The duration of the tour (7h) was just perfect. The tour is suitable also for teens, at least ours enjoyed it a lot. However, the tour will not be suitable if you have bad knees and cannot walk up and down a hill or two. This tour is a must when visiting French Riviera.

This is one of the most scenic, fun and informative tour we have ever been on. Xavier, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable with the local history, geography and anecdotes as well as a great driver. He was professional, friendly, punctual and organised which has made our trip a relaxing and enjoyable one. We would highly recommend this tour especially Xavier as the guide.

Despite a rainy morning, rare occurrence in this area, everything went very well on the visit starting in Nice and passing through Monaco, Antibes, Cannes. Finished in Saint Paul de Vence, a traditional village full of art and artists. The guide Raphael was very competent throughout the trip clarifying all the details regarding the places visited.
