Trip to the Luberon from Avignon
It was a guided tour but most of the information was given from the van pointing out places to see and paths to take that couldn’t be see by everyone. The guide could have gotten out and shown us the various directions and what to expect from the choices. The back of the van couldn’t see what was pointed out. We did appreciate the small group. Even so, a microphone on the guide outside as well as in the van would have been nice or don’t start the explanations until all are present. Whisper earbuds are always a good idea so all can hear.

      Our first trip to Avignon.
Our guide was lovely and knew so much about the area. It was a perfect tour. We saw so much and learned so much in a half day tour.

Organizer your trip in advance to spend few hours on each site
Avignon is small maybe is good for a day visit, careful with your pockets and bags. From there the best is to visit Pont de Garde, it is expensive but it is worth a visit, also Orange and Nimes are places for a half day visit

      Great tour!
Excellent tour and information about these sites! There were four of us (my husband and myself, our son and his wife) and we enjoyed learning and seeing these Roman and medieval sites!

A great day at several locations in Provence-Alpes-Côte
Ann was very good with the historical facts. The locations were such that we would not have been able to do them on our own without a car. We spent just the right amount of time at each location. We recommend this trip.

      Provence - all the wows!
Anne made a wonderful tour of the Provence region - she called it the wow tour and boy, did it WOW for sure. She had in depth knowledge of the area, with wonderful insights. She got us from each point to point without feeling rushed. I appreciated that she took a few pics for me - I’m so rarely in any of my photos!! Especially the fun pano at the Pont du Gard. I’m really glad I went and can’t wait to get to know the area even better on future visits!

      A quick taste of Provence
A long day with a lot of quick stops, but a great way to get a good taste of a lovely region of France that is both beautiful and rich in its history and culture. The hostess is very knowledgeable and engaging, but mostly with a light touch. On several stops, she simply gave us an introduction while we were driving then dropped off us to explore with instructions to meet back at the van 45 minutes later. Other times she guided us through the more historical places we visited. Expect to do a fair bit of walking but nothing strenuous. If you have mobility limitations you wouldn’t be able to enjoy as much but you could still enjoy a lot. Very nice to be in a small group and get to know some people.

Beautiful towns and countryside. Would have liked more information while walking around the towns. Tour guide was very pleasant but somewhat difficult to understand.

Good overview of the area around Avignon
Excellent tour of the area surrounding Avignon by a local expert. A full day tour that includes picturesque villages as well as scenic and historic sites. Professional, articulate and well informed guide who was also friendly and charming. The company runs a range of tours and we wished we had time for one pf their wine tours as they appear quite knowledgeable about the subject.

      Informative, scenic and accomodating.
Much more than we expected. Our guide, Anne, gave us a primer on all Cote du Rhone wines on the drive. The winery, Ogier, welcomed us with four fantastic wines. Two Chateauneuf du Papes, and two regional wines we did not know before. Trips to the Roman theater in Orange and to the Pont du Gard were a great accompaniment .

Perfect Kayak trip down the Gard with Canoe Colluas
Absolute gorgeous kayaking along the Gard. Go on a week day morning if you like to bask in the peace and quiet. The first view of the Pont du Gard is awe inspiring. Was easy to rent the Kayak and they picked you up at your own requested time at a point 1/2 km past the Pont du Gard.

Emile was amazing. He had all the facts because they were his story, his family history, back to his grandfather. I never had such a personal tour. I only wish I could find his equivalent in every tour I take going forward. As we travelled from important site to important site he used the travel time to prep us in depth for what was next so that when we arrived we were prepared, We were ready to grasp the history, the human story of this slice of the past as if we had witnessed it ourselves! I shall never be able to thank Emile enough. Thank you trip advisor.

I was lucky to join a tour last minute. The communication and booking was easy and friendly. Gordana was our guide and she was amazing with telling us about the history of Arles and St.Remy which involved Van Gogh and a few other significant locals. I would say the only disappointing part of the tour, for me, was not exploring the asylum in St.Remy where Van Gogh spent time there. She explained that this is still being used and to respect the privacy of the patients, which I totally get, however, I would have liked to have walked around. I'm giving this review 5 stars because it was a great trip and Gordana was a friendly and knowledgable guide.

We drove from Lyon to Avignon for the tour on our way to Aix-en-Provence the Saturday before Bastille Day. We left at 9:30 am for our 2:30 pm tour and barely made it in time — so my first recommendation is avoid driving on the Saturday before Bastille Day (it should have taken roughly two hours).

We arrived frazzled and Gordana, our wonderful tour guide immediately made us forget our stress with her lovely car (we wound up being her only two guests that day) and cool bottles of water, as well as her welcoming and friendly manner. We started in Arles and visited several locations that were subjects of Van Gogh’s paintings. In addition to Van Gogh, Gordana is very learned in local history and we enjoyed seeing several Roman ruins, as well as the ruined bridge that the French Resistance destroyed in WWII.

From there we drove to Baux. On her way Gordana stopped to check if the line was long for the Carrieres de Lumieres multimedia show on Vincent Van Gogh. Fortunately and unusually (perhaps the benefit of being there on a holiday weekend) we were able to go in for an additional charge (well worth it) with no line. Held in an old quarry, Van Gogh’s work is displayed with a light and music show — it was absolutely spectacular — as Gordana aptly described it you felt like you were a part of his paintings. Apparently this is not a usual stop in these tours so we were incredibly grateful circumstances allowed us to see it. Gordana generously told us to take our time while she waited, and we spent an hour enjoying that amazing experience.

From there we drove to Baux, stopping at a beautiful overlook. We spent about a half hour of free time in the charming village. As I mentioned Gordana is very knowledgeable about Provence and its history in general and we learned much more than just about Van Gogh.

Finally we went to St. Remy. Gordana drove us by the mental hospital where Van Gogh painted Starry Night as well as many other works. Because he checked himself in voluntarily he was granted extraordinary freedom to roam St. Remy and the surrounding countryside.

This was a wonderful tour and I highly recommend it. Gordon’s was a delight and made this something I will always remember.

Had a wonderful experience with Gordana on this tour. Very knowledgeable, friendly, excellent English and funny. Vehicle was excellent and bigger than most of the other 8 passengers vans used by others. Very willing to stop at what interested us. Also did another tour with William and had the same excellent experience. Highly recommend this company. I also think they cost a little less than some other tour companies.

We went to the south of France primarily because of a lifelong fascination with Van Gogh. Anne was our guide for this five-hour tour and we can't say enough good things about her. She's multilingual and expert in the culture and history of Provence as well as Van Gogh and other artists. She has also very kindly helped me follow up with a shop owner.
If we ever return to Arles and Anne and/or Gordana do a full-day tour, we'd like to take a closer look at the site of the Yellow House and the view from there of the harbor and of what used to be the "Poet's Garden" (Van Gogh's name for it) which was visible from VG's bedroom. It no longer has even the scruffy trees of Van Gogh's day, but it would be good to check out the original sites of the "garden" from the vantage point of the Yellow House's location, the police station diagonally across from the Yellow House, the original locations of Cafe de la Gare, and the Venissac restaurant which were also across from the park. We'd also like to see the general location of the House of Tolerance no.1 where VG took his ear to "Rachel"/Gaby. The short street still exists but the building is now a private home and the house number is not publicized. We'd also like, on our next trip, to go inside the monastery at Saint-Remy despite it being NEXT to the still-active asylum where VG stayed and not where he actually was treated. But the monastery has set up a room similar to what VG's room looked like and there are original art works by current patients that can be purchased. Also, the gardens of the monastery were painted extensively by Van Gogh so that is worth seeing.
We also want to thank Gordana who communicated with us by email during the planning of our trip...other reviews point out that she is also a terrific guide!
*It's good to know that this is a WALKING tour, mostly on cobblestone streets. Bring your best walking shoes.*

Gordana was a wonderful, intelligent guide. The tour itself was just the right length and we loved the fact that it was a bus tour only in going from place to place. In the 3 places we visited we got to walk around and even had some free time to sit in cafes and absorb atmosphere. Gordana was punctual, the mini-van was spotless, and I would recommend her company to anyone who wants to do day trips from Avignon.

We loved this tour because not only was it incredibly picturesque but we learned so much. Tour driver was very, very knowledgeable and patient, probably because he was a local. Every thing was run on time, and the cost was quite reasonable.
