Saint-Emilion Day Trip from Bordeaux
From US$ 133.04
The medieval village of Saint-Emilion is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular Bordeaux wine region destination. Get more attention from your guide as you discover the secrets of Bordeaux wine and learn about French winemaking and classifications. Enjoy a walking tour of Saint-Emilion, three tasting sessions, and a visit to a Grand Cru Classé chateau in Pomerol.
What to Expect

Meet your guide and small group of up to 8 near Place des Quinconces in central Bordeaux. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned minibus, set out on the scenic drive into the heart of Bordeaux.

The first stop is at a wine chateau in the Saint-Emilion region. Tour the winery, with views of the vineyards, to gain insight into winemaking. Learn about terroir, and discover Bordeaux varietals during a tasting.

After a second winery visit and tasting, continue to the medieval village of Saint-Emilion. Stroll the cobbled lanes on a 45-minute walking tour, before enjoying free time to browse the shops and purchase lunch at a local restaurant (own expense).

Your final stop is at a Grand Cru Classé chateau in neighboring Pomerol appellation. Peek into wine cellars while your guide explains the complex system of French wine labelling and classification and you sample wines.

Your tour ends at the Bordeaux departure point.

We had a fantastic day on this tour! Our guide, Jerome, was gracious, knowledgeable, and witty. Our traveling companions—five women from Norway— were also delightful. During the day, we pedaled across the countryside, and had several wine tastings and a delicious lunch in one of...More
