My wife and I hired Stewart for a day in early October. Had a great day. Saw Golden Eagles, Sea Otters, Pine Martens and had an absolutely great day. Stewart knew exactly where to go and knew the habits of the animals so we were able to wait when necessary to see them.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Stewart, it was a top day all round and we both really enjoyed it.
We are not into photography and hired Stewart as a wildlife guide, money really well spent and went to places off the beaten track.

I can honestly say this is an experience I will never forget and will hopefully get the chance to repeat in the not-too-distant future. Stewart’s knowledge, experience and fieldcraft is second to none, he knew where to go and when to be there to maximise the opportunity of sightings without impacting on the wildlife itself. His ability to spot otters in the distance, predict their route and track them coming closer to us was amazing. Aside from this, Stewart was great company throughout both experiences (Pine Martens and a day tracking wildlife – predominantly eagles and otters) and his knowledge of camera settings was also of great help.

To maximise success I can offer that you dress sympathetically to the environment (as camouflaged as possible) and avoid any scents (strong deodorants, aftershave or perfume). Patience is a virtue and you will likely be richly rewarded with some fantastic sightings of wildlife in its natural habitat.

Amazing experience with Stewart getting to see the best of Isle of Skye. My first time seeing an otter five minutes into our tour - all down to Stewart's amazing eye for them. He is so knowledgable and knows all about the behaviour of the wildlife and where to look for them - would highly recommend for a nice personalised tour. Also had soup and cheese on toast at his house :)

Me and my friend went on the wildlife tour and we had a brilliant time. Steward, was a very knowledgable and helpful guide. We felt throughout the whole tour that the wildlife was considered the priority and the tour was ethically set up and would not disturb them. We saw Minkie whales, dolphins, cormorants, golden eagles and learnt about lots more. With the knowledge Steward had given us we were able to spot more wildlife throughout the rest of our holiday and we saw another golden eagle.
We would thoroughly recommend this tour for anyone to understand more about Skye's wildlife

Head a great day exploring Skye with Stewart. Between bouts of wind/rain and gorgeous sunshine, we we able to find a family of red deer, several white-tailed eagles, mama otter and her pups playing on the rocks, and finally Stewart’s beloved “goldie” - a golden eagle soaring above the glenn. Stewart was kind and gracious and worked hard to get us in the best position to see the wildlife. Between wildlife sightings, the Skye landscape popped with color and contrast changing from one moment to the next. Even got to watch a sheepdog at work pushing a herd of sheep from one pasture into another, great fun! Great day spent in the Skye countryside.

My husband and I spent a day with Stewart on a wildlife tour. We were able to see a nesting pair of golden eagles, sea otters, deer, dolphins, and many other birds (sea eagle, black guillemont, multiple gull species, great tit, great cormorant, common eider, hooded cow, eurasian blackbird, european robin, eurasian oystercatcher, buzzard, and many more). We were able to watch a sea otter through a spotting scope for a while as she hunted and ate which was such a neat experience. Stewart is extremely knowledgeable about these animals and would event predict the otter's next move as she hunted. It was quite impressive! He was also very aware of the distance needed to safely observe these animals without causing them stress or an effect on their behavior. Binoculars were also provided if needed.
Overall, it was a great day of conversation and wildlife touring. I would recommend this trip to anyone coming to the island!

Thankyou for the fab review Emily, it was a joy showing you the local wildlife and glad you enjoyed the encounters, The eagles where present at a roost site and not the nest as I do not observe near the nest sites as they are protected species like the Otters, the Wildlife here is magical and I am glad you noticed my commitment to the welfare of the wildlife I show to clients as it is important protocol. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and hope to see you both again in the future . Thankyou . Stewart

What an amazing day with Stewart.
He is really talented at observing wildlife in its diversity (on earth, in the sky or in sea coast), gifted at finding the best angle ahead and brillant at getting close without disturbing.
Few hours teaming with him and we manage to film at 10ish meters from 6 otters, and 2 beautiful stags challenging each other.
In addition of those privileged moments, We’ve learned so much about the method to encounter animals, and all insights about their habits.
      I highly recommend.

Had an amazing experience. I've always wanted to see an Eagle, stewart was great company, thought we weren't going to see anything but near the end we were treated to a fly past if a pair of golden eagles. Not only that but they came down on the hillside and through a spotter scope saw one eating its dinner. Once in a lifetime experience! Would highly recommend

Stewart is exactly the person you want to introduce you to the wildlife on Skye. His knowledge and instincts are unmatched, and it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see these animals in the wild, guided by someone so familiar with them.
We had an incredible morning complete with golden eagles, otters, far-off stags, several different bird species, and sheep - boring for the locals, but cute for us tourists!
Highly recommend booking a tour with Stewart as part of your visit to Skye.

We had a superb time despite the weather being not very good with strong winds, rain & low clouds. Stewart took us to many different areas of Skye that we wouldn't know about to see the wildlife. His knowledge was very extensive & was so helpful with his advise on camera set ups. We had the best Golden Eagle experience we could have wished for, also had a good sighting of a White Tailed Eagle & many others. Well worth the money. Thank you Stewart. Andrew & Bianca.
