Isle of Skye Day Trip from Inverness
US$ 68.60
Overview
The towering sea cliffs and traditional fishing villages of the Isle of Skye lie off the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. With this tour, save both time and money by taking in the island’s highlights on a day trip from Inverness, including Kyleakin, Portree, and the Cuillin Hills with stops at Loch Ness and Eilean Donan Castle along the way.
What to Expect
Make your way to Inverness bus station and travel by air-conditioned minivan through the Scottish Highlands. Stop in Loch Ness, where you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the lake and hear the legend of the notorious Loch Ness Monster.

Continue to lakeside Invermoriston and then pass sights such as the Thomas Telford Bridge, Glenmoriston, and the Five Sisters mountain range on the drive to the west coast. Stop to admire the striking ruins of Eilean Donan Castle, before crossing the Skye Bridge to the Isle of Skye.

On the island, break for lunch (own expense) in Kyleakin and marvel at the rugged landscapes of the Cuillin Hills and then visit the island capital of Portree, where you will have free time to sightsee or browse the shops.

On the return journey, listen as your guide points out landmarks such as the Isle of Rum, Achnasheen, the Black Isle, and the isle of Eilean Ban. Arrive back in Inverness in the evening.

Awesome scenery

This tour is a great way to see the Western Highlands. The grass-covered, treeless mountains are magnificent. We stopped at numerous picturesque spots along the way. Our guide Richie gave good information without talking too much as some drivers tend to do. Highly recommended.

Great views, stories and info about Scotland

We don't have a car, so this trip was our only option to see the Isle of Skye. We weren't disappointed - the views are amazing, even when it's rainy. Our coach driver was Alan and he was great - on the way he told...More

Average... Could have been more fun- Skye and Eileen Donan Castle

Check in was easy and the tour ran on time. Larger bus but the seats were very small and not very comfortable for a full day tour. Thought they should have offered bottled water at one point on tour. Although not part of full tour,...More

Great day tour

We really enjoyed our tour to the Isle of Skye. The coach was very comfortable and the driver was good. Glad we were able to see this part of the country. Not sure we would have driven it ourselves.
