Glasgow Bus - This trip was a gift to my mum for Christmas 2019 , so firstly I would like to thank the team for honouring this booking so long after it was booked .
Start point is in the Merchant City , seating is allocated by the driver , if you have any preferences eg upstairs , at the front , table for two you should let them know when you are booking .
We were upstairs at a table for two , afternoon tea was lovely with sandwiches , rolls , hot scones and dainty cakes and tarts , choice of tea or coffee , we also had a cheeky wee glass of Prosecco .We toured around Glasgow and out to the Riverside museum and back in again , tours are not guided but the sightseeing good. Tour lasted approx 1.5 hrs . Staff were friendly and efficient …..it’s not easy serving on
on a stop start bus !
We met some lovely people and had a great laugh , I would thoroughly recommend this tour …a great time was had by all !,!

A great, fun and wholesome experience every time ! I was fortunate enough to go on the Red Bus Bistro twice last year. First for the gin afternoon tea with my family and then again for the pizza and Prosecco evening with my boyfriend for a date night. Both trips were great fun, the bus itself is decorated beautifully and staff were very friendly and attentive. We were given the opportunity to stop mid tour for photos (see attached photos). By this point my family and I had enjoyed a couple of Prosecco's and were socialising with other guests on the bus. Everyone was in high spirits and having a wonderful time.
We passed several Glaswegian landmarks whilst we enjoyed the delicious sandwiches and cakes. The food was fresh and the afternoon tea set up looked so lovely I barely wanted to eat it to ruin how pretty it looked.
At the end of the tour we were given the chance to purchase Red Bus Bistro vouchers at a discounted price, we bought 5 vouchers (each for 2 guests) and we are planning on going on another gin tour this July !
We can't wait !
If you are looking for something different, quirky and fun to do in Glasgow I would highly recommend this tour.
It also makes for a fantastic gift !

Purchased voucher for Mother's Day in March. We joined yesterday as a party of 4. A lovely experience and was great to drive around Glasgow. You think you know Glasgow but once on the bus it takes you to places you haven't been in ages. Afternoon Tea was great. Choice of sandwhiches could have been better and the plastic cups for tea and coffee were of course required but both my mums worried who has used them first. I am sure they are cleaned but just a side not unusual to use a cup with a lid that someone has used before. We used the QR code on the side of the bus to order additional drinks. These did not come, and we had to ask for them as we had already paid via the app. My only tip is the bus is an old bus which does add to the character of the whole experience, but it is very tight for two normal sized people to share. Thanks, again for a lovely day

We arrived early as instructed at 11.35am we saw bus outside Aldi and on approach were directed to Shuttle street, the bus came round about 10 minutes later. We stood at bus and were not allowed to board bus until 12.15pm tour was due to start at 12.00 during this time the bus was prepared surely this should already have been done much earlier, then engine wouldn’t start, so driver had to work on it. One staff member seemed to then disappear behind fence over the road so another delay. Once tour started the serving of food looked fine though journey very bumpy we were then told that this was a replacement bus as our actual tour bus was on a private bus tour, this should have been pointed out in advance of tour as some people on tour had booked downstairs seating which was not available on this bus. The tour had virtually no commentary pointing out landmarks listed on itinerary also we did not see many landmarks as bus only visited :Clyde street, Broomielaw, Riverside museum car park, Dumbarton rd, Argyle Street. When I asked why we did not visit landmarks I was told that roads were closed and I should have known about it from the news. We arrived back at Shuttle Street about 1.25pm which meant our tour lasted just over an hour. Some guests had still their bottles of Prosecco and cocktails to finish as they were being told tour was finished. To sum up if you could not offer the proper tour booked it should have been given an interesting alternative route or offered some incentive e.g a bottle of Prosecco per table or at least an extra glass, It should certainly have been advised to customers in advance. We were looking forward to this but it did not meet expectations. Also I thought staff would have had a uniform to give a more professional look no one had a uniform apart from bus driver. Hopefully you will accept these comments as advice on how to improve and not disappoint.

Hello thank you for taking the time to leave us a review we would like to answer the points raised and respect that you felt best to leave us a review however if you had contacted us direct before placing the review we could have advised explanations and found a resolve .
Bus tour time - We advise to arrive five to ten minutes early so that you are there to find the bus not half an hour before the tour we do not board earlier than the tour time stated as the bus is set up directly before the tour to ensure the food is fresh and each table has there allocated dietary requirements .
Bus - The bus out on tour is a 65 year old vintage bus and mechanical issues can happen and you experienced the driver is very competent to deal with this . As for the comment from staff this was incorrect and the staff member is new and they will be spoken to about this comment . We do have more than one bus but the bus you where allocated to was the bus that is out on Weekend tours so this was not the back up bus . No one would have been booked for downstairs as there is no availability for this on this bus and the public headline on the bus advised anyone booking of this .
Road closures - We are advised by Glasgow city council of road closures we where not advised of this at the weekend and the unplanned event that took place had a lot more people turn up than the organisers themselves therefore this was out with our control and rather than cancel a tour with all passengers onboard a full tour the driver instead worked hard to find a work around and find a work around .If you look on our website you will see we have big event dates locked off such as the race for life event
Uniform -The staff where in full uniform and we have checked the videos to ensure this was the case the staff where denim trousers and a denim shirt .
commentary - We do advise on our website and terms and conditions we are not guided tour and staff will point out key landmarks outwith providing the hosting service onboard.
We reviewed many of the videos including the sing along video where everyone appeared to be having a lovely time onboard we hope this gives an explanation to the points you have raised

Shocked and disgusted with this company’s total lack of “empathy”. Booked for the Glasgow Gin experience afternoon tea and then found two days before the event of a family bereavment, preventing us from going on the bus trip.
Now their Terms and Conditions are clear and say you can cancel 48 hours before but we learned about 36 hours before and contacted them immediately. Thinking a company with a genuinely caring attitude would at least at worst offer to rearrange for another date and show some empathy but sadly no! My money was already lining their pockets and was never seeing it’s way back to me under any circumstances.
Companies can hide behind T&Cs but they cannot hide their lack of care for their paying customers. Disgusting.
More the fool me, though, had I read more fully their reviews I would have found the swathes of other poor reviews all over social media outlets and saved myself £103 …. But lesson learned!

Hello, we are very sorry to read the above, but we were aware to expect this from your threatening abusive email that was sent to the inbox. We as a small business and with the current climate have had to survive very tough times our team work hard, and we have many positive reviews. We are sorry that you had a funeral to attend but when cancelled less than forty-eight hours before a tour we have everything planned and bought for the tour if we were to cancel or change every booking this would not be viable for any company this is why we have terms and conditions I am sorry that has resulted in the review and the email sent to the office team and i hope the above explains our decision

Firstly, I do not usually write reviews. However, given the negative experience. I believe it is important to highlight our experience so that others do not find themselves in such situation.
I would suggest if you have mobility issues not to book this trip. Despite, informing ‘Red Bus Bistro’ of my physical impairment and need for a down stairs, forward facing seat the same was not facilitated. In fact, on arrival our bus allocation had changed, documentation stated bus one but we were moved to bus two and we were given side seats which had a huge step and nothing to provide any stability. It would have been impossible to remain seated given my physical impairment. Please note, not only was my mobility issues communicated with the company verbally at the point of booking, this was also followed up via email in which red bus bistro confirmed downstairs, forward facing seats would be facilitated.
The humiliation of having to explain to on board staff my situation and inability to take the trip due to reasonable adjustments having not been made. I may add in front of two full bus loads of people. Minor adjustments would have omitted this disgraceful situation we found our self in, and the disability discrimination I faced.
In your terms and conditions the company clearly states “due to the age and design of the bus we cannot accommodate wheelchair passengers”. “We have a small storage area to store a fully collapsible wheelchair, if the passenger can transfer to a seat downstairs”. Furthermore, your terms and conditions state that immediately prior to booking you should contact us to ensure a “suitable” downstairs table is reserved free of charge.
The on board crew contacted a colleague by telephone to inform them of the situation. In which, I requested an email be sent to me confirming the cancellation in which they agreed (voucher through red letter days). No communication received despite my email, no reply. The company had the audacity to offer to schedule. We had travelled some distance and were only in Glasgow for the weekend to take this trip not only was our day ruined, it was my mums birthday and Mother’s Day.
Clearly, there was no respect or attempt to ensure I was placed on a level playing field with our passengers without my disability. This resulted in disability discrimination. It is evident there is a need for disability awareness training and for the company to consider and uphold their duties to comply with the provisions of the Equality Act, 2010.
Unfortunately, there is no option to rate less than one star. The customer service and behaviour of this company is absolutely appalling.

Hello After several emails back and forward from yourself with several changes to your booking after making the initial booking we actioned each one the seating request that was so important to you was not advised at time of booking and emailed in as a late request . We are an inclusive company and that's why we ask at time of booking if any mobility concerns and this is the opportunity to specify seating requirements the day of the tour the staff offered multiple options as a work around to assist you nothing we did was suitable the side seats has a step up to them the same size of a step it is to get onto the bus . The crew tried hard to move several passengers around to accommodate you . we can ensure you we are fully aware of disability rights and we employ many staff with additional needs who will be very saddened to read the information you have provide on this review . we can ensure we did not and would never discriminate as per our terms and conditions state Red Bus Bistro company ltd will go out its way to cater for a diverse audience as possible within the confines of the bus and will follow the equalities act all times

Dear Admin,
I wish to give feedback on my experience on Friday for the Glasgow bus. The bus itself was great but the afternoon tea was disappointing, due to food being very dry, I ordered a vegan one and this k it was vegetarian ( the girl I think does not know the difference). In addition there was not any commentary on, where we were in the city on the tour. My guest knew where we were ( I didn’t ) but there was a group of tourists on the bus so bad show for them. I would not have been happy if I was a tourist. It seems they discovered the microphone wasn't working that morning so could not speak people through the tour. We were all upstairs so it would have been possible to still speak to passengers without microphone but it didn't happen nor did they have a back up like a tape or recording they could have used. These tours are not cheap so sadly would not recommend it to anyone and hugely disappointed .

If your attending the expirience bus make sure ur not ushered to the two front seats at the top. Worst seats and ruin the expirience there not appropriate there are only two of these. We were not offered different seats and were left squashed into seats we did not fit ruined our hole expirience whats worse when we emailed management they told us staff offered us seats and asked were the seats OK and comfortable all lies they stated we were mortified and embarrassed enough as it was there was no way we were making a scene infront of everyone it was visible we were uncomfortable. Management was in no way helpful my concerns were not met with kindness or compassion. From my expirience I wouldn't recommend giving this tour the custom however if u do go keep the above in mind. They do not care about your misfortune if they can make a buck off it. The expirience has the potential to be good as other were able to expirience but not us we are at the loss of time money and confidence.

Very disappointed and not what I was expecting. This should be advertised as a sing along party bus with half a sandwich thrown in.
I wouldn’t have minded if it hadn’t been almost £80 with the Saturday supplement.
The staff were friendly but the girl shouted into a microphone for most of the journey, played music and encouraged singing. The bus was noisy and the afternoon tea consisted of half a sandwich, with some vol au vents and a couple of petit four, one cup of tepid tea in a cup that smelled of coffee and a glass of cheap Prosecco.
Not value for money and I couldn’t wait to get off.
Save yourself the money. Get a sandwich and a cake from Greggs and get the bus home.

We are sorry to see you did not enjoy the experience as you will see from many reviews many passengers enjoy what we provide but we can not please everyone . From the review if our videos and pictures our afternoon tea was set as per our standards there was more on your slate than what you have advised here on this review we also take video's of the teas and coffees made to show how warm they are . You where seated near to the speaker our staff are often praised for there support on the bus and speaking with the staff you where provided two cups of tea and they would have addressed any issues you had onboard if you had raised it there and then and could have provided more food if requested we have the photos of the table and food provided that shows no issues and you left a tip for the staff when you left so a little confused why if it was that bad ???

Shocking customer service. Had booked on as a large group for a celebration event and was told last minute they had not received their alcohol license in time so would not be serving any on the trip. When queried as to why that was the case and as to why we were then being charged extra corkage fees for this, we were sent horrible emails from the staff including comments insinuating our party had alcoholism issues. They then cancelled our booking with 1 days notice.
Do not purchase this experience as I believe it is likely a scam!

hello the office team work very hard to resolve the issue that happened for the tour and this was an error not made from us and outwith our control we offered you several work arounds to resolve the issue none of witch was not suitable and it went from dealing with one person to three . We are shocked and saddened to see Nhs health professionals especially in management lie and slander a business especially in regards to alcoholism issues witch we can prove from the emails is false and complete lies . Its also taken over two weeks since the incident to leave this review and we are now looking into professional conduct and police advice for slander and false accusation

PLEASE CONSIDER
I am one of small community group of around 20 older people who are in a wee group called Peoples Past People's Future. We are based in Rutherglen, Glasgow
Our ethos is to spread happiness and joy by staging events etc. We do lots of things like use our local library to do events like an annual Robert Burns afternoon, a Matt McGinn memorial Event, and best of all our drama Tenement Tales, a performance about growing up in the 50's in Glasgow, which is written and performed by the group. These dramas are to get older folk involved by getting out into our community and jogging long lost memories of growing up in the 50's 60's.
One group aim is to help especially people who are socially isolated and we know from our experience that this is very prevalent in our community, in fact old people seem to become invisible to society. It is heartbreaking. We want to help stave off loneliness and depression. COVID has hit us hard and we need a boost. We try not to charge entry for any of our dramas or the events we organise, our group has been lucky enough to get donations. But sometimes we need a little boost ourselves.
We would love something to look forward to and would be great for us especially for our less able members
We would love to have that special experience.
I do hope you consider this request for 20 tickets from a group of folk who have worked hard all their lives and are still striving and working for a better community and life. I hope you will look kindly on our request, if you could make this happen we would be so so grateful.
Thank you for taking time to read this..... I know you will do what you can, Kind Regards

How do we book a specific time slot? I see under ‘what to expect’ the tour times offered are noon, 3, and 6. But under ‘important information’ there is not a 6pm under departure time.

We were offered 11am or 3pm. It may be that they don’t do it at 6 as they do a gin tour in the evening. If you call them they are very helpful and will advise you.
