With its magnificent turrets and archways, the entrance in the heart of the village could have sprung from a fairy tale. This magnificent Renaissance palace is adorned with 17th-century Flemish tapestries, elaborate painted ceilings and antique furnishings. As you walk through the castle itself take in the detailed panelling in the drawing room, the magnificent Chapel Royal and fascinating painted walls of the library, as well as the recreated royal apartments. Explore the gardens designed by Percy Cane in the early 1950s, the historic apple orchard and the wild flower meadow. Falkland Palace and Garden is also home to the oldest real or royal tennis court in Britain (built for King James V).
