Was pleasantly surprised about our day at Warwick Castle. Clearly they have created an experience far greater than just seeing the castle. All very we;;put together to maximise the days enjoyment. 2 very nice cafes, inside the castle visit were amazing exhibits, nice woodland walk from car park of of course the peacocks. (+ More)

    Warwick Castle
We visited Warwick Castle for afternoon tea on Sunday, 16th March 2025, and from beginning to end, the customer service team was absolutely outstanding—they truly went above and beyond to ensure our experience was unforgettable. I was a little nervous about going, as my mobility had become an issue in the weeks leading up to our visit. My husband was considering cancelling, but he discovered that the castle offers the option to hire a mobility scooter—a service that turned out to be a game-changer for me! When we arrived, we headed to Business Services, where we were warmly welcomed and promptly provided with a mobility scooter. The team gave clear instructions, a helpful guide, and, to my surprise and delight, we found out that the scooter hire was completely free of charge! I cannot express how impressed and grateful I was for this incredible service. Thanks to the scooter, I was able to explore the castle grounds fully and capture some beautiful photos that I’ll cherish forever. The highlight of the visit was our afternoon tea in the conservatory—it was an absolute dream! Everything, from the setting to the food, was exquisite, and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. Thank you, Warwick Castle, for your thoughtfulness and care towards your disabled guests. You truly made my day unforgettable, and I look forward to visiting again soon!

    A Wonderful Short Break
I got yet another deal from Hot UK Deals with the overnighter, best breakfast I’ve ever had in my life, & tickets to Warwick Castle. It was the best day out we’d had in ages. I loved it so much that I wanted to move in. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the expensive, horrible, mean, sandwiches, change your supplier! However, the drink, & pie & chips we had in the Knights Tavern more than made up for it. It was great going across the bridge to get to it, I know, I never grew up. We were in room 333 which was huge, & absolutely perfect. It was an accessible family room (that we requested) with 3 beds for the kids that we didn’t have. I was so tempted to have a sleep in the top bunk bed, but I never. There was biscuits, tea, & coffee too. The bathroom was huge, with an over bath shower, 2 sinks, & loads of lovely shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, & hand cream. We had a good old soak in the bath which was a real treat, we only have a wet room at home. The shops we found were a bit expensive, £15 for a Christmas decoration, come on! We spent about 4.5 hours around the castle & enjoyed every minute of it. Just as we were flagging & thinking we’d never get through the bird thing as we were so exhausted, but the man with the birds was the best bit for us. Talk about excitement as we stood there as the birds skimmed our heads. Woohoo! Staff were all lovely, & we can’t wait to return.

Fine day foiled by food foul up
We arrived early in the day, and enjoyed climbing the tower, and viewing the archery and bird shows. The day went downhill when we got hungry. We went to the chicken strip shack, and after a ten minute queue, we waited another twenty minutes to get our food. This was made worse as an order numbering system was instituted after we ordered, which led to many people who ordered after us being served before us. A complete shambles, which even the most inept school drop out could have handled better. After that hiccup, we continued to tour the castle for another hour, but the mood was soured by the food foul up.

    Warwick Castle Review
We visited Warwick Castle and booked the light trail for late December/New Year. We have visited quite a few times before, and we normally have a nice time. It’s definitely worth booking if in the area. The castle is very nice and well-maintained; however, it can get quite busy. We didn’t take long to explore the castle rooms, which are beautifully decorated, especially during Christmas. The winter birds of prey show was enjoyable. Since it was the winter season, everyone stood at the top of the riverbank to watch, as you aren’t allowed down by the seating area during winter. The Falconer was very informative and made sure that everyone had a chance to see the birds by walking back and forth along the edge of the grass, ensuring everyone had a good view. It was disappointing that we couldn’t see the birds of prey outside of the show times. We spoke to a staff member who explained that they no longer have the birds on perches and we could only see them during the show. We only saw around 6 small birds of prey (3 birds per show) during our visit. When we visited before we could see quite a lot of them. It would have been nice to see at least a few bigger/less common birds of prey. We visited the Time Tower, which offers many fascinating facts about the history of Warwick Castle and its past owners. While the experience was enjoyable, there were constant distractions. Many visitors pushed the automatic doors open before they automatically opened and before the video/audio prompted them to move on, which disrupted the flow. Additionally, groups of people wandered back and forth through the rooms, and staff members constantly walked through as well. If there hadn't been so much noise and if everyone had followed the directions the audio was giving, the experience would have been much better. The light trail was very good, it took around 1 hour to go round. We finished the trail by walking across the castle walls which was great. We were however a bit shocked that you were allowed to walk across the castle walls when it was that dark especially since the majority of the wall including the steep spiral staircases had no lights whatsoever. We could barely see anything when walking down the stairs and were relying on the small light on our phone to not trip and fall down. The light trial was definitely worth visiting. During our most recent visit, we did not do the dungeons, Princess Tower, or the War of the Roses show. However, we have experienced them on previous visits, and most of the time, they are quite good.

Great experience except for waiting time for a drink
Fabulous Castle and grounds with some great new features not seen on last visit. It was rather busy as it was half term and we had to stand in a queue for 30 minutes just to get a drink!!! There was only one lady serving. As the castle shut at 4om, this delay was unfortunate. The rooms in the castle were amazing and staff on the archery were very lifelike. Please please please improve your waiting times for food and drink by getting more staff and or outlets as not enough to cater. And £4.75 for a latte is ridiculous.

    Take your own food.
Although the castle is great plus entertainment/events, the provision of food is not! Not much choice and not healthy at all. Immensely overpriced! £54 for Yorkshire pudding wraps for 2 adults, 2 children after a very long wait in the queue! Also surprised that you have to pay for car parking on the way out.

Overcrowded & Food is poor and extortionate!! TAKE YOUR OWN FOOD!!!
We've visited twice before in warmer months and it's been tolerable! I can't fathom why in February it's busier than ever! Queues for the food outlets were obscene and we ended up lumping for the conservatory as it had the shortest queue, we had the last two adult sandwiches on the shelf and almost cleared out the last of the kids sandwich bags which were £11!!!!!!!!! I kid you not....£11!!! Trying to sell it by saying it's a souvenir bag, it's the cheapest looking bag you've ever seen!!! Please if you are going to visit TAKE YOUR OWN FOOD!!

Perfect for disabled people with mobility issues.
Always wanted to visit. Went with my husband for my birthday trip. Stayed in a little village about 20 mins drive away. Best thing of the visit has to be doing the dungeon tour. The Jester was the best. He loved my mobility scooter even though it took him 5 mins to turn on so he could bring it inside for me The actors were so good and made it an interesting experience, rather than just walking round some rooms. Even though I have mobility issues (fibromyalgia) and use a crutch, I managed ok. As a disabled person, trying to find activities I can visit is a chore and Warwick castle seemed very accessible. I did have to use my crutch to walk a few times but was well worth it. The disabled loo by the tea rooms was so clean and well set up with a shower, hoist and changing bed for an adult. The staff were so helpful all around the castle and in the tea rooms they came to us so we didn't need to queue. We almost walked out forgetting we hadn't paid. Would love to go back when it's warmer and visit when they have their events on.

    Fantastic tour guide
We love Warwick Castle and have visited many times with and without children. For the first time we did a tour of the state rooms, we were lucky to have the charismatic and entertaining Andrew as our guide. The highlight of our day! Helen Mirren couldn’t have told the ghost stories any better herself! Would definitely recommend, there is always something new to learn when visiting and it never gets old. Love it

Awesome castle with loads to see and experience
Came here at the beginning of February 2025. Owing to our arrival in the afternoon, we didn’t manage to get to see all of the castle but did get to see the Great Hall, Wedding Party, Time Tower, Guy’s Tower, the afternoon Winter Birds of Prey show and walked around the battlements. You’ll need at least 3-4 hours here to see and experience it all. Views from the battlements and the top of Guy’s Tower were great, although be prepared to walk up quite a few narrow and windy stairs in the case of the latter. The Winter Birds of Prey show was informative and featured an owl and a peregrine falcon; both birds were clearly well versed to performing in front of a crowd of onlookers. The Time Tower show is fairly short but provides an informative walkthrough of Warwick Castle over the centuries. The Great Hall is a real feast for the eyes with historical significance. Definitely up there amongst one of the best castles to visit in the UK. My only small criticism is the £7.00 parking charge we incurred (other castles we’ve visited in the past such as Leeds Castle offer free parking to visitors) but would otherwise highly recommend this place.

    Poor customer service
We went when it was strong winds. The light show was cancelled and we were told we get a refund. This was the 7th December and still no refund. I am waiting for over £80 to be returned and all I get is automated responses. In addition my daughter spent her pocket money on a bow and arrow from the shop which broke within 5 minutes of using it. I was advised I would be sent a replacement and guess what? It hasn’t been sent and I just keep getting responses which say it will be sent and it hasn’t. Such a shame as this has really made me not want to return. Please sort your customer services out and return money that you have promised.

Warwick Castle is impressive, but our recent visit had its disappointments. The entry fee is steep at £90 for three people, plus £7 for parking. We tried using a 25% discount from cereal boxes, but it was sold out on our chosen day.

The War of the Roses show, our main reason for visiting, was a mixed experience. While the show itself was great, the viewing was poor due to overcrowding. Despite arriving early and queuing for 30 minutes to secure a better spot, our daughter’s view was obstructed by latecomers, which could have been avoided with better crowd management.

Parking was also an issue. We had to park a 10-minute walk away in a dusty area, and the car park attendants seemed disengaged. The shuttle bus was packed, particularly on the way out when our daughter was tired.

There was a lot of queuing and waiting throughout the day, which frustrated our daughter. The castle grounds are beautiful and well-maintained, but if you want to appreciate the history, avoid peak times due to the crowds.

The bird show was a highlight, with healthy birds and an engaging storyline. However, food prices were high—£18 for some snacks and £10 per serving for chicken strips and chips.

Overall, while there were enjoyable moments, the high cost and crowding issues detracted from the experience. I recommend visiting on a less busy day, bringing your own snacks, and arriving early for shows.

I booked these tickets in advance, which I would definitely recommend, or even better, use the Kelloggs 2-for-1 promotion. Adult prices on the day are £39 each.
Prices differ on weekdays, weekends, school holidays etc. We visited on a Monday, during term time and paid £39 for 2 adults. It's definitely worth doing your research to get the best value for money.
Ticket prices don't include parking or the castle dungeon. Parking was an extra £7 and is about a 15min walk from the entrance. The dungeon was an extra £8 each, but these prices seem to change depending on the day.
There's not a great deal of information on the leaflet provided at the entrance, so I would recommend downloading the free Warwick castle app.
We watched the falconry display first, which was amazing and a definite must-see on your visit.
I enjoyed the peacock gardens. The grounds are incredibly well maintained. We got some great photos of the peacocks.
The route through the castle is well set up, which I like, so it didn't feel like you were missing anything or had to walk back on yourself. The climb to the top is well worth it for the views.
As with any attraction like this, the food and drink was expensive. I would definitely recommend taking a picnic. There are plenty of grassed areas to sit, as well as some sheltered benches.
One thing I found a bit odd was some of the food trucks only take card payment, so the kids on the school trips who were queuing up to get an ice cream were unable to pay.
We were surprised to find the castle closed at 4, so we didn't have time to see everything. You can easily spend the whole day there, with something for all ages to enjoy.

Thank you for your lovely review, and we agree that downloading the Warwick Castle App is a great way to get up to date information on what is open & what is on. In school term time and in the winter the castle & grounds close at 4pm, whilst in the summer opening is until 5pm. Please see the website or app for information when planning your day.

Paid a lot of money for tickets purchased a few weeks beforehand for the Halloween day time event. Arrived at 12pm. Lunch time. You’d expect after purchasing such expensive tickets (family of 4) that Warwick Castle event organisers would’ve provided adequate seating, alas no! The courtyard was packed, all benches occupied. We walked further up to the other stands and waited approx 30 minutes for a jacket potato with cheese and beans - £8.50 for a bleeding spud!! £7.50 for chips I decided quite wisely to pass on those. Husband waited about 40 minutes for his fish and chips (at a different stand) & the chips were frozen chips that had been fried! He paid a substantial amount and it was a complete rip off. How Warwick Castle staff think this is ok is beyond me. He then waited approx 30 minutes at the waffle stand. He had been served but had to wait for them to make a basic waffle. It ruined the first hour and a half. To top it all off we all ate our food on a bench because there was NO free seating available. It was SO disappointing and I feel it’s so disrespectful to their customers who have shelled out a lot of money to be treated this way, similar to a grab and dash. The shops aimed at children had ridiculous prices, absolutely insulting prices. We usually like to splurge on the children but we weren’t going to be fooled again (fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me). Also for some unexplained reason the cafe seating closes at 15:30. I had walked a long way and was looking forward to a coffee sat down inside only to be informed the seating was no longer available. Having mobility issues this was another slap in the face. I asked why? And was told because it shuts at 15:30. No reasonable explanation was given.
Warwick Castle team, you’ve turned this place into an absolute scam. We paid good money only to be ripped off further and treated as cattle once the money was taken.
We were hoping to book the Santa sleep over but hell no to that! Will spend our hard earned money some place else. It’s a shame really.
On the plus side the shows were great, actors were amazing, maze was good and escape room was fun.

Hi Saronn, It sounds like your experience at Warwick Castle was frustrating, especially with the high prices and lack of seating and service. I understand how disappointing it must have been to wait for long periods for food, only to find limited seating and overpriced options. It's unfortunate that the experience was marred by these issues, despite the fact that the attractions and shows seemed to have been enjoyable. I think a helpful response to Warwick Castle could highlight your dissatisfaction with the food service and seating availability, and emphasize how these factors negatively impacted your overall experience. You could mention the high costs, lack of seating for paying visitors, and the difficulty you faced with mobility issues, which made the situation even worse. It would also be good to suggest improvements, such as more seating availability, better organization for food stands, and clearer communication about available services, particularly for those with mobility needs. Though the shows and experiences were great, these logistical issues clearly detracted from your visit. Your review is a constructive way of providing feedback that may help improve future experiences for other visitors as well.

very poor experience , i do not recommend, very disspointed, no trained staff, very expensive for the experience and visits that you can see , especially for the age between 3-8 . we were 3 families that went there, paid astrocytes amount of money over 300£ for 5 adults, 5 children, travelling over 2 hours one way, and they don't advertise on the website or at the entrance that as soon as you arrive you need to book all your visits/activities that you want to do while you there. we payed full price and not being able to see anything as all tickets internally were sold out. Discussed with Meghan (duty manager) , offered a toy for each child, but not being interested how sad and bad experience those kids had during their school holiday, ruined their day , our time and money. we arrived there 10 am, was 2 pm not being able to visit anything inside apart of the show that was outdoors, not any ticket left for the rest of the day. we requested full refund , which she said that this is not something she can do and that the head office will contact us and they can process this. She stated that the head office will contact us within 48h, is been 2 week and never heard back. do not waste your time!!

I'm really sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had—it sounds incredibly frustrating, especially when you traveled a long way and paid a significant amount for what was expected to be a fun and memorable visit. The fact that you were not made aware in advance that you needed to book activities in advance and that many things were sold out by the time you arrived must have been incredibly disheartening, especially for the children. It's disappointing that, despite discussing the issue with Megan (the duty manager), your concerns were not addressed in a way that helped alleviate the situation. A toy offer may have felt like a token gesture rather than a solution to the real issue at hand. And it’s especially frustrating that no follow-up has occurred after you were told the head office would contact you. Waiting two weeks without hearing back only adds to the negative experience. For such a costly visit, it’s understandable that you'd expect better communication about how to make the most of your time there, and it seems like that was lacking in this case. The lack of availability for the activities you had hoped to do is understandably disappointing, and it's clear that this overshadowed what should have been a fun outing for your families. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for us and we hope you can give Warwick Castle another chance to show its beauty.

We went to Warwick Castle over the May half term and had a great time. I would highly recommend it, particularly staying at the Knight's village if you have young children.

We had booked for two days (there's so much to see so I would advise taking up the offer of the reduced price entry for second day). On our first day we saw most of the shows and barely had time to see much of the castle. My son loved the trebuchet show, and my daughter was engrossed with the princess tower. My favourite was the War of the Roses show, it was thoroughly enjoyable with some great displays of horse riding, jousting, and the kids loved the dramatic sword fights! It was a nice touch that the knights stayed around afterwards to chat to the kids as well.
The falconry show was also amazing, albeit with a little overly dramatic storytelling for the kids. We've been to displays before so I wasn't expecting the kids to pay much attention, but once it started we were all transfixed. There were some truly impressive birds flying very close over our heads, it was beautiful display.

We then checked in to the Knight's Village to stay in our tent. Before booking we were debating whether to stay in a local hotel, or pay the slightly higher price to stay on the Knight's Village, but I am so glad we chose the village. My only minor reservation would be that the carvery in the evening, whilst the food was lovely, felt a little overpriced. Towards the end of the meal, and for the rest of the evening, there were three people entertaining the kids; there were knight skills with Sir Jacob and Lady Liz, and princess games with Princess Cecilia. And in addition there was also archery sessions available all evening. My son was straight in there with the swordplay and archery, and whilst my daughter was a bit nervous to start with, Princess Cecilia noticed this and was very encouraging. By the end of the evening, my usually shy daughter was leaving us behind so she could follow the princess everywhere! Lady Liz finished with a bedtime story for the kids, they had a wonderful evening.

After sleeping in the tent overnight in very comfortable beds, we then checked out after breakfast and went back to the castle for our second day. We went round the sections we hadn't had time for the day before. The longbowman was very entertaining, the kids enjoyed the Zog quest and show. We went around the castle towers and ramparts which my son found very exciting (lots of steep narrow steps for young children so be prepared to help them, but it's a castle so you know what to expect!). I would have liked to spend more time looking at the historical exhibits inside the castle, but I was competing with the kids attention span at that point! We then had time to watch the falconer show and the War of the Roses for a second time before going home.

In summary, we had a brilliant time, the kids didn't want to leave. And I would highly recommend the Knight's Village, it made it such a great experience.

Amazing! We stayed in the knights village for 2 nights and went into the castle 2 of the 3 days. Food was good and reasonably priced, drinks are a little more steep but not massively expensive, staff were amazing, helpful, friendly and couldn't do more to make our stay comfortable. The castle itself is well worth the money I recommend the tours - the staff are knowledgeable and intresting to listen too. The dungeon is great for adults and older children. Rooms are comfortable, warm, clean and reasonably priced the only downside is the tv signal is quiet poor but as we weren't watching tv much this didn't bother us. There is also entertainment in the evening (mainly for children) by knights putting on a show.

It is very, very advisable to book tickets on-line a couple of days before you intend to go. Apparently they do offer a rainy day protection, but not really sure what that is. My daughter works for our military so she got slightly better discounted ticket prices, a Blue Light card holder might also get the same, our daughter has the Defence Discount card. I am disabled and use a wheelchair, I still had to pay full price, my wife who is also my carer got in for free, our daughter and son got the discounted tickets (Not a huge discount). It is really hilly in and around the castle as you would expect, not being specifically designed for wheelchair users, lol. I got access to the castle grounds and the Great Hall thanks to a little lift tucked away in the left hand corner of the Great Hall building. What an amazing space with plenty to look at and see, providing people dont keep walking in front of you like you dont exist. Regrettably this was the only thing I could do inside the castle, the Time Tower (Video presentation of how the castle has changed) is not accessible with a wheelchair, The battlement walk is obviously not accessible with a wheelchair, The Dungeon which carries an extra charge of around £8 per person I think is also not accessible using a wheelchair and the undercroft cafe is also not accessible with a wheelchair. Altough there are lots of aother snack bars dotted around the castle grounds, but beware the prices, four icecreams nearly £20. When we went there were at leat four different school parties there who showed to care or concern for a wheelchair user, so I was unable to see the Wars of the Roses display (It is also down a very steep hill), thankfully I have two fit and healthy children to push the chair around here, it would definately not to be recommended for an elderly person to push a chair it is steep. We did get to see probably the best falconry display I have ever seen, although once again as a wheelchair user I had to sit up the top of the bank on the path, my son sat with me, my wife and daughter went down the bank to sit on the benches, my daughter has a real love of birds of prey. it was a very hot sunny day and there was no shelter, I felt quite ill after it had finished. The staff I have to say were very good and very helpful and consistantly did the best they could whilst remaining cheerful on a hot and no doubt stressful day with excitable kids running everywhere.

Warwick Castle is a tourist theme park in a stately home and this defines the experience. Maybe it’s OK as entertainment for families with children - and that’s great, there’s nothing wrong with that. But for adult history buffs it’s not so good. Certainly the Merlin / Madame Tussaud’s crew know how to charge - £39 per day ticket, £22 in advance, £7 day parking, £5 for a small pot of tea - it soon adds up.

But let’s start with the good things: the staff are friendly and helpful - I have a mobility issue and the car park crew immediately arranged for us to park near the Castle in a disabled bay - and the Great Hall tour guide was excellent. The Kingmaker multi media show was also impressive, and the long bowman archery display was interesting, as was the Mill.

Less impressive were the food options in the Undercroft Cafe and the Conservatory Tea Room - very poor choice, especially for vegetarians, and very overpriced. We were also underwhelmed by the Time Tower as a supposed history of the place. It felt dumbed down or maybe it’s just aimed at children.

It was certainly a surprise to find that Warwick Castle is in the middle of the town! Not being able to climb the walls for a view, we had no idea. It doesn’t feel connected to the town at all. There’s nothing we saw that links the castle with local history or the development of Warwick as a town, nor to British history. And it’s interesting that the Visitor Guide handed out as you enter doesn’t show the town at all - it doesn’t exist! Clearly the disconnection is deliberate.

What it feels like is that Warwick Castle is on the Stratford / Oxford / Cotswold international tourist circuit and run by a global company which is also an outsider. As we left, there was a sign advertising a Year Pass. Why would you go back repeatedly we wondered?

What we would do if we came back is to get a pass out - a stamp on your hand so you can leave and re-enter - and pop into Warwick for food. So many places there offering much more choice and much lower prices.

Hello, thank you for sharing your detailed experience at Warwick Castle. It sounds like a mixed visit, with some highlights overshadowed by the commercialization and lack of local connection. It’s great to hear the staff were accommodating, but I understand your frustrations with food options and the overall historical presentation. Kind regards, The Warwick Castle Team

Out of season visit to this attraction. Whilst there wasn't a lot going on it was nice and quiet to get to see all areas. We had a bite to eat and a hot drink in the undercroft cafe and was disgusted with the over priced and underwhelming offerings. Surely a big corporation like Merlin can do better than a Luke warm panini and tasteless hot chocolate. I would advise anyone thinking of going to Warwick castle to take your own food and drink

First of all, there is so much to do you will very easily spend all day at the castle.

I'd highly recommend the jousting and falconry shows, both are brilliant, high energy, great for kids and adults alike. The performers are very enthusiastic about their equipment and historical era and happy to talk with kids and adults who show an interest.

I'd also recommend the archery and knight school activities. Staff running them are very knowledgeable and great at tailoring the activity to suit different ages. Many thanks to Kayleigh on the knight school who was so attentive with our 4 year old daughter and who absolutely made the day for her!! Thank you so much!

Food here is expensive, so if you are coming I'd recommend putting a picnic together and bring a blanket. There's lots of free lawn space where you can sit down in peace and eat and it's an ideal venue for picnics. If you want to buy food on site there are plenty of outlets but like many such places you will pay a premium.

There are some negative reviews about the steps. It's a castle. There will obviously be lots of steps. If you have mobility issues I'd suggest calling in advance to check the venue is suitable in advance. It's also a pricey venue, but what's offered is a full day of entertainment that will keep your kids engaged - well worth the money.

We'll definitely be coming again.
