About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- lucybF3739KL0 contributionsLovely festive day in BathMy second trip with Go Cotswolds and just as awesome as the first! The guide Dave was lovely and very friendly and provided lots of information on the sights we saw on the long but scenic drive to Bath. The village we stopped in on the way was lovely and a great addition to the tour. Bath was amazing and we had plenty of time to see and explore the main sights without rushing. Will be recommending to others visiting during the festive season.Written 17 December 2024

- 363vanessaw0 contributionsChristmas, Cotswalds and a fun day out!Had a fabulous day out with Steve. He made the day very interesting and highlighted many things along the route to and from Bath. We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Bath looking at all the sights and Christmas stalls in the town centre and would recommend this trip. Steve grew up in the Costwold so his knowledge of the area was impeccable. Thank you again for being so kind with my car sickness!Written 10 December 2024
- V2435THhowards0 contributionsGreat day out for Christmas shoppingWe live in the Cotswolds but we choose to go to Castle Combe and Bath Christmas Market with Go Cotswolds as it was nice to not have to drive and the hassle with parking. Although arrival was a bit late this was due to roadworks in Morton we had a lovely day and the time spent at Castle Combe and Bath was just about right. The mini bus was clean and comfortable and our driver was engaging with small talk and information about the Cotswolds. Bath market is well worth the visit with chalets selling good quality presents.Written 4 December 2024
- Julibird0 contributionsDon’t miss itSecret Cotswolds was great, so many villages to see and pass through. Loved the time exploring the areas, our guide Steve was so full of knowledge on the area, it was a great day, thoroughly enjoyed.Written 27 November 2024
- LindaDury0 contributionsGo Cotswolds is a mustIf you are spending just a couple of days in the Cotswolds and want to explore many places in little time, while learning tons of fact about this beautiful part of the world, your place to go is Go Cotswolds, I cannot recommend it more. It's a family run business, offering an arrays of 1 days tours along many different villages in this stunning landscape, plus offering a great guide onboard. You can get a real flavor of this beautiful countryside and see many villages thorough the packed day. Our guide Martin was extremely knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. It felt like we were been driven around by a friend. Martin was providing facts and historical references all throughout the day, while being funny and entreating, always ready to answer all our questions and adapting to all our requests. The group was small to the point that it felt like a private and personalised tour. We had the fortune of having the same guide Martin for 2 days in a row and we really enjoyed both days. Martin is a true gem and the tour was definitely worth it!!!Written 17 November 2024
- paiged3390 contributionsA little Highlights of Autumn Blue !It was a sudden decision to escape work on Tuesday, so I checked the Go Cotswold website, and luckily, there were still spaces available! We weren’t particular about the destinations since we trust their knowledgeable guides to make any trip fun and informative. Dave was exceptional. As we traveled along the Roman Road from the Cotswolds to Bath, he shared fascinating details about the area’s history, wealth, and unique features. He guided us through Bath’s center, covering the Roman Baths, Georgian architecture, Abbey, Victory Market, and the rare bridge/road design. His storytelling brought the history to life, and despite visiting Bath several times before, we learned so much more about these buildings. Stonehenge was equally captivating, with Dave’s expert insights into its mysteries and significance. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enrich their experience with expert guidance!Written 26 October 2024
- lkdb20160 contributionsBest way to see the smaller villages of the CotswoldsWhat a wonderful, if rainy, day we had on the Secret Cotswold tour. Our guide, Mark, was fun and informative and took us to villages we would never have gone to ourselves. We definitely recommend you take this tour.Written 15 October 2024
- R770IAalyssal0 contributionsA fun way to spend a dayA delightful, fun, informative tour with great spots to stop in. Our guide had grown up in the rural area where we were, so he really knew the ins and outs of everything. He even rallied to get me to a connecting train on time at the end. Great experience!Written 10 October 2024
- randolphg8100 contributionsAmazing perfect experience. Our tour with Steve was wonderful. His personal experiences and professional knowledge of the Cotswolds is extensive; we loved his personal stories. While enjoying the scenery and his narratives we felt perfectly safe and pampered with his driving and the luxurious mini bus. I have mobility problems and he made sure I could manage walking in all locations, and getting on and off the mini bus. This was our second tour with Go Cotswolds (the other being in 2016 with Tom), and as with that tour we could not imagine a better experience. Thank you Go Cotswolds for exceeding all expectations again!Written 7 October 2024
- korieb6620 contributionsFantastic Day Trip!I loved this trip! Our local guide, Steve, was so knowledgeable and entertaining. This trip was just what I wanted to see, the beautiful English countryside with the stories to go with it. The coach was comfortable, and timing was great, I loved every bit of it and will definitely be back!Written 1 October 2024
- rebekahsF1956KF0 contributionsTouring the Cotswold areasThe views were amazing and we got so many great photos! But our tour guide, Mark, had so many wonderful stories and notes to share with us during our trip that the time went by too fast! We didn’t want to rent a car so this was a great way to get into the county for some sight seeing, and now that we’ve done the tour, I am so glad we didn’t rent a car! This was much better! (Small group, expert driving/directions, helpful tips, our guide knew the best spots!) I would highly recommend this tour company and wish we had book a tour to bath with them as well. Would highly recommend them! *they are also great at working with you if you’re using this tour as a way to get from one location to another.Written 1 October 2024
- Compass7251120 contributionsMemorable experience in The Cotswolds guided by Go CotswoldsThis was our first trip to The Cotswolds and Mark (driver & guide) made this a memorable day for us. We felt safe, he provided an extensive knowledge of area and he gave us enough time in each of the 5 towns/villages we visited. Go Cotswolds are highly recommended, especially guided by Mark.Written 30 September 2024
- marilynb5220 contributionsThe Best!Steve was our tour guide for the day. He went over and above to provide us with information and personal experiences from his youth growing up in the Cotswolds. We saw so many beautiful little villages throughout the day. Our group was fun and everyone enjoyed every minute. We highly recommend Go Cotswolds as this was our second wonderful experience with them.Written 30 September 2024
- F518SUpaulw0 contributionsSimply Fantastic Tour - exceptional assistance for customer using walkerOnce again we must commend this company and it's guides (Martin) for putting on an exceptional guided tour through the Secret Cotswolds. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I must offer special thanks for the help and assistance offered by Martin with regards to my walker and making sure that it was available to me anytime I was getting off of the bus. Without his courtesy and assistance, I doubt that I would have been able to participate in the trip! So a big thank you for making this trip as successful as possible.Written 27 September 2024

We toured with the representative, Mark, to multiple Costwold villages and towns. The minibus was very clean and spacious, and the journey to each village was smoothly accompanied by Mark’s breakdown on the history of each site.
The weather was amazing and each site was mildly crowded, giving our tour cohort enough time to see each site. We were given a comprehensive map of each site which was extremely helpful in directing us.
We definitely recommend this tour for visitors of the UK who like scenic, historic, and serene landscapes of England.

When we were planning our trip to the UK I insisted we include time in the countryside. I’ve only been in and out of London which is an awesome city — too expensive, mind you, and even the locals will agree with me on that— but having read Thomas Hardy and envisioning the pastoral landscapes he described, I couldn’t wait to experience it in person. That happened when we took a full day tour of the Cotswolds with Steve. It far exceeded all my expectations. (“Wolds – gentle hills. 'Cots' – sheep enclosures. So 'Cotswolds' probably just means an area of gentle hills with plenty of sheep around.”) There are so many interesting things to see in this area : the honey coloured limestone buildings and dry stone walls, thatched roofs, rolling meadows, bouquets of pheasants (great collective noun, eh?) crystal clear “rivers”, and above all the wonderfully friendly people who live here and welcome you into their special world. We visited: Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Bilbury, and Burton on the Water.

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely experience of your Go Cotswolds tour with us! We're thrilled that your day in the Cotswolds with Steve exceeded all your expectations and brought those Thomas Hardy landscapes to life! The beauty of the honey-colored stone, rolling hills, and welcoming communities truly does make this area feel like stepping into a storybook. And we agree—"bouquet of pheasants" is a fantastic collective noun! 😄
We're so happy we could be part of your countryside adventure and help you explore such a special part of England. (We might not tell Steve hes the best tour guide in the world though, our other guides could get jealous!)
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our Cotswolds in a Day tour and we very much hope to see you again on your next trip - Secret Cotswolds next!

My day tour in the Cotswolds was truly unforgettable experience filled with the quaint stone cottages, charming market towns, and idyllic pastoral landscapes.
The tour guide Steve's friendly sense of humor made the tour feel engaging and personalized. He went above and beyond to ensure that everyone in the group felt welcomed and included, fostering a sense of camaraderie among us all.
Would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse themselves in the tranquil elegance of the Cotswolds

Wonderful day trip visiting around the Cotswolds. Very comfortable van bus, and being a smaller size than a big coach made it easier to get around some of the more crowded areas. I think our van holds only 16 or so. We also had a great tour guide named Dave. He is very knowledgeable, made it all interesting, and has a calming voice to listen to. It’s not the kind of tour that’s overdone with tons of historical facts that become boring. Instead he told us current info on the various towns and kept our interest. Absolutely would recommend, especially at the beginning of your visit so you can see where you’d like to go back to. One point to note - we went in August when much of England is on holiday, including several of the shopkeepers.

Thank you for the wonderful review Lynn! We’re so glad you enjoyed your day trip around the Cotswolds with us. It’s great to hear that the smaller group size (maximum 16) made it easier to explore and that Dave’s knowledgeable and calming approach added to your experience. We love keeping things interesting and relevant, so we're thrilled that it hit the mark for you. We'd love to help you discover even more hidden gems on your next tour with Go Cotswolds. Many thanks.

We had a great time on this one day tour around the Cotswolds. We managed to see so many beautiful villages and fully experience this beautiful part of England. The days was very enjoyable, our guide Martin was extremely knowledgeable, professional and entertaining while being very attentive to the group need. Only 10 of us on this tour which felt private and bespoke, never rushed and never guided to specific places to buy something like it often happens on prearranged tours. We had the fortune to have the same guide Martin on 2 tours and we thoroughly enjoyed both days. We cannot recommend this company and this experience more. A fantastic way to see as much of the Cotswold as possible in 1 day, while learning the history of this enchanted area.

Had a great time with Tom! He has a wealth of knowledge about the Cotswolds having grown up there, and his “insider” knowledge was very interesting. We had enough time in each location to see and do what we wanted, but not enough to get bored. He took scenic routes and gave excellent background on the history of the area and great stories of current interest. Prepare for all weather; be punctual; know that if you choose to have a sit-down lunch, it may take up all of your time in an area, as restaurants, pubs, and tea rooms are not fast food😉 It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and I would highly recommend it!!

We had arranged a day tour of the Cotswold so that we could see as much as possible of this beautiful area. Our guide met us the local station near where we were staying. He was very warm & friendly and knew a lot about the history, geography and culture of this area. He even remembered all our names and would address relevant comments and anecdotes to us Individually. We all felt really included. We got help taking photos and told the best spots to take them. What more could we ask for? This tour is definitely recommended as an initial introduction to the Cotswold!!

We planned a trip to London, then five days in the Cotswolds without a car, and another stay in London. We took a quick train from London to Moreton-In-Marsh where we rented a room, and relied on Go Cotswolds to show us around the area in a day. Our guide Martin was a fascinating and funny fellow and pretty damn good driver. He was filled with info about the Cotswolds, we only scratched a tiny bit of it, and he changed itinerary when weather made it necessary, keeping us out of the rain and still seeing and walking about great countryside sights. It's a great day trip if you're just staying in London and want a huge hit of English cottage countryside. You take an early train from Paddington station to Moreton-in-Marsh and the Go Cotswolds van picks you up at the train station at 9:15, drops you off at 5 p.m., and you can say you saw a great ancient and lush expanse of a uniquely inhabited land.

Thanks so much for your detailed and delightful review! We’re thrilled that our tour made your Cotswolds experience so memorable, even with the tight schedule between London and Moreton-in-Marsh. It’s great to hear that Martin’s humor, driving skills, and local knowledge added to your adventure. We love that he could adapt the itinerary to make sure you stayed dry while still enjoying the stunning countryside. There's no accounting for the British summer! Your description of the day as a “huge hit of English cottage countryside” is just perfect! Thanks for sharing your experience, and we hope your next trip brings even more wonderful discoveries.

Excellent day spent with our guide and driver Mark. There was ample time to explore the different villages without feeling rushed. Mark provided lots of relevant and interesting historical and current information and trivia on all manner of subjects in addition to the villages.
You'll get the best introduction to the Cotswolds with Go Cotswolds. From booking through problems with getting to a pick up point late due to missing a train, they have great communication and enough flexibility to fit you in with their schedule. I can't recommend them enough.

I highly recommend Go Costwolds. In October I went on 3 consecutive tours with this company: Cotswolds in a Day, Stonehenge, and Secret Cotswolds. From the initial booking to the end of the tours, Go Cotswolds exceeded my expectations. Communication was very frequent and clear, and responses to my questions were provided quickly. They were very organized and punctual with their itinerary. I especially appreciated their 3 guides: Steve, Dave, and Colin were very friendly, fun to be around, safety conscious, and quite knowledgeable of the areas. Booking with this company was one of the best travel decisions I have ever made and rendered my visit of the Cotswolds even more special.

I took the one day tour on Sunday July 7. I had to be at Moreton in Marsh at 10AM. I took a train from Marylebone to Oxford and transferred to the train from Oxford to Moreton in Marsh. The train from Oxford to Moreton in Marsh was delayed 20 minutes because not enough staff showed up to operate the train. If you look at the Go Cotswolds website it will provide links for catching trains from different locations.

How much walking is there in this tour? I'm thinking of joining with my Mum, who's 75. She can walk a bit but not for the whole day. Are there options for things to do near the stopping points or do they all involve walks to get to?

I agree with the others. You get dropped in very central locations in each town and you have quite a bit of time to casually stroll around. Tom provides you with a map that has the sites marked on it so you can choose what to see . . the furthest site to walk from the dropping point would be to view Broadway Castle but again you have a far amount of time here and it's an easy walk.
Hope this is helpful :)
