The only way to see Stratford
The best way to see Stratford - hop on and off as you please. Loved that you could listen in as you travelled along. So much we didn't know about Shakespeare!

Easy option to see around Stratford and get to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage
The pre-recorded guide info was engaging and informative; lots of interesting facts about the origin of words and phrases. Sadly, there was only one bus an hour on the day we went, which did impact our enjoyment a little; especially if you don’t want to accidentally spend two hours out of town at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.

      Well worth a trip
Although Stratford-upon-Avon is only a small market town, it is worth taking this bus trip if only to help decide where it is worth walking to investigate further (particularly if it is raining...). We would recommend taking the earliest trip possible to avoid the crowds (we had the bus to ourselves Sunday morning..!).

Great start to exploring the town
Well worth doing to get a feel of the Town. It is extensive and covers the key historic and architectural highlights. The commentary was amusing and informative and the customer service was excellent. Went back to various places in he car next day.

Brilliant and informative way to see the town!
Very informative and gave information we would of never know. Tour guides were very good and drivers very polite and helpful. Marvelous way to see the town especially to go out ann hathaways cottage and mary ardens farm as they are a few miles out of town. You can hop off and on as much as you like. We got the 24 hour ticket and felt it was just enough time, however if you wanted to visit the houses you will need more time so the 48 hour ticket will probably be better.

      Scenic and informative.
We always take the Ho Ho bus and this time we bought the ticket including tickets to entry to William Shakespeare’s visiting places. Suggest you buy the ticket to all 5 on the bus and then visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage Shakespeare’s wife ) then continue on the bus and visit Mary Arden’s ( Shakespeare’s mother ). The information and sites are very informative and interesting.

      Good way to see Stratford
A good way to learn about Stratford is on the red open top buses. They are frequent every 15/20 minutes and visit the main sites for the tourists. The commentary is very informative and you can hop on and off as many times as you like for £15 for 24 hours.

      Very informative
We jumped on this tour within 10 minutes of arriving in Stratford. Really glad we made this choice as we learnt and saw so much which we would never have seen on our own. The open topped bus was perfect for a hot day and the audio guide was just enough.

Perfect way to see Stratford Upon Avon
A wonderful way to see Stratford Upon Avon. Very enjoyable and a great way to learn little unknown facts. Didn't realise how much we didnt know despite living only 20 minutes away for many years. Only now as a tourist from Australia do we now know!! The day we did the tour it was cold and raining but despite the weather it was still very good. We were a group of 7 adults - family and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Tip - you must have printed tickets to present to the drive of the bus otherwise you will not be allowed on the bus even if you booked online. The instruction to have access to a printer is not provided until after you have purchased tickets. You can go to the information centre to have tickets printed but the day we went (Sunday) the sales person did not know how to do it! Luckily there was another member of staff (out the back office) who assisted.

      Great way to see Stratford
This is an excellent way to see Stratford, learn a little about its history and generally get your bearings. Our guide was informative with some humour and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. It can take up to an hour depending on traffic. You can also get off at various attractions and catch a later bus back - they seem to arrive every half hour. Well recommended.

      Open Top Bus Tour
Great way to see and learn about Stratford Upon Avon, you can hop on and off the bus at the various tourist spots and spend as long as you like in each place before hopping back on the bus again. We pre booked both the city tour tickets and the Five Shakespeare property tickets, both the staff at the ticket office and the driver were polite. I certainly learnt a lot from the recorded talk and really enjoyed it.

      A Good Option
A quick, easy and enjoyable way to see the sights, especially in sunshine on the top deck! We had live commentary which was OK, but it wasn’t made clear on this the stop we needed to get off at to see Shakespeare’s grave (which was shared with another attraction) and therefore we missed it! We could have taken another tour to get there as the ticket was valid for the day, but with limited time we walked there instead!

We booked under the impression that the bus ran every 20 minutes, but when we arrived, were told that it works be running every hour. That meant we would have to wait an hour every time we got out the bus, but figured we already paid and could maybe manage the important stuff. Waited to get off at the furthest point first, Ann Hathaway's cottage. Bus driver said he would be back in an hour. 2 hours and five minutes later, he came back to get us. The next stop was the start of the tour and we had a train to catch so we had to run to see one other point of interest and could only spend 10 minutes there or we would miss our train back. Paid $59 for the bus and $60 for admission to see all the points of interest, got to 2. Daughter was super disappointed as this was to be the highlight of her trip. Won't be doing that again.

Every town or City I go to I have to use the Hop on Hop off bus, it really is the best way to see any major town or city. Easy to pre-book, clean, commentary always good and these busses glide through any amount of traffic. This one was no exception, it did not disappoint.

My friend and I decided to take this tour when we visited Anne Hathaway’s cottage, as it was the easiest way to get to it.

The driver was very friendly and the tour was great. We were told that it was a little shorter now due to road closures, etc but we didn’t really notice.

The bus provided headphones and had a very informative audio that played on the journey. It was very good and really taught me about all that I was seeing along the route.

I would agree with other reviewers however in the cost being far too high for this experience. Stratford is very small and £15 is far too pricey.

Always keen to explore the places we visit and this is a good way to do it usually. However, timetable was meant to be every 20 mins (still says this on the website) and waited well over a hour at one of the attractions near to our accommodation and no joy. Commitments the day of the booking meant that we could only get on the last bus of the day, and this left the start at 16:00 not 17:00 as advertised meaning there was no hop on hop off opportunities.
Driver explained changes from the audio description as we went (given some road closures). He was really good. However, £30 is a lot of money for what became a single trip around town on an old bus!

This was the first time we'd used the 'On-Off bus tour', still very interesting and a good way to see Stratford, albeit, in my opinion rather overpriced. The Ann Hathaway attractions were not available, they were closed, the reasons given were rather vague.
On our first early morning excursion we were accompanied by a very good guide who was very well informed about Stratford and Shakespeare. Later that morning, we were left with the driver who, apart from the initial grunt, when we boarded, never uttered a single word. It probably wasn't part of his job, although it should 've have been reflected in the price. That said, it's a very useful means of seeing Stratford.

We had a 24 hour ticket and hopped on and off over 2 days this weekend. Both days we had the same driver. This was because he literally was the only driver (on Sunday at least). He kept going most of the day with very few breaks. In order to get his breaks he had to actually stop the tour bus and apologise for the fact he was the only driver and was overdue his breaks. He kept apologising - but this really was not his fault.
I hope this guy’s boss/es thank him and give him a bonus for keeping his company running. Thank you Steve you made our weekend. You had the whole company and the whole of Stratford upon Avon’s tourists on your shoulders this weekend.

False advertising! How can it be ok to give leaflets out saying the buses will be every 20 minutes and then decide to just run them every hour? We stood at stop 6 for over an hour, missed out on going to Ann Hathaways cottage because had no idea that all the times on the bus stop were wrong. We even tried to call the number on the bus stop to find out what was happening and it wasn’t a current number. When we found the correct one we were stuck in a queue and nobody answered. The office was closed by the time we made it back. You are charging full price are only giving half the service!

    Not a great experience.

Positives - good way to see the sights and a nice hour out.

Negatives - the audio commentary did not work on our seats and as the bus was packed we couldn’t move elsewhere. Also we were on the top left of the bus near the back. The bus kept on hitting low hanging branches on the route that were quite dangerous and could cause injury - be very careful.

We have done plenty of hop on off bus tours, but this was by far the worst! Firstly, the buses only come every hour not every 20 minutes so that really defeats the object. The speed the driver drove was ridiculous! There was no time at all to enjoy the sites or take pictures. It was a whistle stop tour and we were back in 45 minutes ll All 'stops' complete although no-one got off - it didn't even slow down long enough to stop! The speed also makes dodging branches quite traumatic and very distracting so there is little enjoyment for fear of losing an eye. For £15 a head we could have taken a taxi in far more comfort. Prepare also to get very chilly and windswept. We disembarked dishevelled and disappointed. Lesson learnt. Is there a way to ask for a refund?

We arrived and booked with the driver on the day and got it a little cheaper than buying online before hand. The bus tour as with all the ones this company do in various city’s etc was very good and informative. Luckily for us it was a beautiful day so we sat on the open deck at the back and watched the world go by with running commentary. The only downside ( and we knew this before booking the tour) was that due to COVID restrictions, the houses of William Shakespeare’ family where all closed to the public, so there was not much hopping off for us, which was fine. We still had a great day. It’s the best was to get around to the main sights when they are all open again which I think is from the 15th June 2021.
