North Greenwich - Uber Boat Family River Roamer
Used for the first time, completely now aware of costs/options. A very friendly and pleasant assistance from the North Greenwich staff, massive thanks to Malkweet! Good weather, great views, clean and comfortable interiors of the boat with snacks/drinks options available, covered from wind, really nice way of sightseeing and having family time.

    Uber Boat N Greenwich. O2
Great work by Norman at O2 North Greenwich. Making sure people boarded the right boat efficiently. The timetables for Uber are rarely accurate so he kept an eye on departures and arrivals for everyone.

    Misleading
Terribly misleading. Wanted to go somewhere Aviation themed as I am particularly interested in that and this came up on Google under the Aviation Experience (formerly apparently run by Emirates Air). The purchase clearly stated that this would include a Ticket to the Aviation Experience & to redeem the Voucher at one of the redemption points mentioned. We weren't able to redeem our Tickets anywhere, as the Aviation Experience doesn't exist anymore & they redemption points couldn't hand out Tickets to something non existent. (We tried two points) The instructions were unclear as to how to even get them and then we took other transportation to where the Experience was supposed to be only to find out it closed down two years ago and is now run as something else. Staff there was very confused as to how we were able to purchase Tickets for it even, but said we weren't the first ones. Really disappointing overall, for the price. Hoping for a refund.

We had come to London for a short weekend trip and we decided to get the last Thames Clipper from Canary Wharf at 19:38. We had waited for almost 30mins in a short queue.
We were told the clipper had reached its capacity and no longer will take on any more passengers. To make things worse a couple at last minute pushed into the queue and got on. I mentioned this to the member on the clipper and refused to take any action. I was told I would be issued a full refund.

I reached out to web@thamesclippers.com and shockingly a response was no refund. A gesture of goodwill was offered another ticket to be used within 3 months. 6 of us will not be making any plans to come to London again. I have emailed the CEO and will be making an official complaint to Uber and Thames clipper and will not hesitate to put this through small claims court.

People please watch out London has gone very expensive and becoming a one big scam! Do not use Thames Clippers. A single adult to go on a boat and travel few miles is £9.00 and you are not guaranteed and won't receive money back.

Hi, Thank you for taking time to post your review. We are sorry that your experience was marred. We believe your complaint was resolved satisfactorily. Our services are running on reduced capacity levels due to strict social distancing guidelines that apply during these challenging times. Kind Regards

Uber need to limit numbers on boats for comfort and safety of passengers. Uber Boats website says,
"Enjoy a guaranteed seat once on board."
The boat we boarded today, 12th August 2021, was overcrowded. There were no seats available either inside or outside when we got on, nowhere even to hold onto which was difficult with young children. This is very worrying, particularly as the life jackets are apparently under the seats. People were having to push past us to get on and off the boat. We had little opportunity to look at the views as we were just concerned to stay safe and hold onto the children. I spoke to one of the crew who was disinterested.
The whole experience was uncomfortable and disappointing and felt unsafe. And as for any social distancing or Covid-19 precautions... We felt rushed on and off by people who just want to make money and don't care about the service they offer the passengers. The one way fare was a lot of money to pay for such an unpleasant and what felt to be an unsafe experience.

Make sure you buy a ticket at the kiosk before getting on the boat - OR ensure that you tap on as you get on the boat. One of the Uber workers on the boat was putting his hand over the ‘tap on’ facility and telling us to just get on the boat. We did. A single, which we wanted was £7.20 if we’d tapped on ,but when we were in the boat we had to pay £14. I cancelled my payment and we got off at the next stop. This is an absolute swindle, taking advantage of tourists, and we will not be doing it again. Will not recommend!!

We booked the illuminated official boat tour. We embarked at Tower Pier at 9.30pm and travelled to Lambeth Bridge. The boat was comfortable, commentary was provided giving historical details of the bridges/Thames. The bridges looked magnificent with the structures illuminated by LED lighting controlled by computers. The cruise lasted approximately 45 minutes and was well worth the ticket price. Light refreshments were available if required .Would recommend. This tour is only available during the winter months.

We booked a single trip from Canary Wharf to the O2 and the back on the Post Show Request service. Due to various Covid cancellations the show was postponed twice. The staff in the office (Raj in particular) were fantastic and accommodated numerous alterations free of charge and ensured we were able to finally attend the concert. The staff on the boats and the quays were brilliant, helpful and friendly. The boat was clean and the journey super quick! We had a wonderful night top and tailed by a great boat ride. Thank you!

Decided to finish the day getting on an Uber boat from Bankside as not many people waiting. Paid for tickets in advance (£23, 2 adults, 2 children - one way) more expensive than the tube. Timetable said 18min wait, fair enough, we waited. After about 20 minutes a boat arrived for the staff to be shouting “only room for two as full”, two young girls proceeded to get on but were trying to find their tickets for the staff members to say “sorry, no time” and pulled up the step and went! The girls then walked away obviously disappointed. I then stood at the front rather than take a seat to hopefully get on the next boat, it was about another 30 minutes before another one arrived! No timetable updates, if I hadn’t of paid in advance I would have “abandoned the ship” as they say. By this time crowds of people were gathering to get on for the staff to shout “we are full, only get on who gets off”, luckily we managed to get on this one as we would have missed our mainline train home, but many people waited even longer. It seemed a big boat for very little capacity and not running frequent enough, I’ve tried it once but I would not bother again.

Went on the Uber boat from Greenwich to the London Eye which cost £8.20 using an Oyster card.
Whilst not the cheapest or quickest mode of transport for this journey it's definitely the best if you want to sightsee.
The boat is huge 12 seats wide with a small cafe which you can buy drinks and snacks.
Very enjoyable trip.

We used the boat for a one way trip from Greenwich to London Bridge.

We purchased tickets at the booth in Greenwich then realised you can use your Uber app and it’s cheaper to do this as the boats I believe are sponsored by Uber but run by Thames Clippers.

There is a small cafe and a toilet on board and the journey is very quick and you get to see most of London from the river.

I can recommend this company as they also have other routes available.

I took two journeys on the Clipper boats. Some staff do not seem to be trained to operate an activity that will appeal to tourists who may be travelling for the first time, and in an unfamiliar area. I realise that safe operating of the boats is a priority and staff are chosen who can do this. However, on my first trip, the destinations and stopping points were called out by a staff member who could hardly be heard over the noise of the boat and passengers. On my second trip, as the boat arrived to pick up passengers the destinations were shouted out almost aggressively. Unused to the procedure, I had touched my Oyster card at the wrong place, and was rudely corrected. Once on this boat, announcements could be heard. On both boats I noticed a screen at the front of the seating area. This was blank. Destinations, stopping points, and maybe a map of the route could have been displayed on the screen and would have been a great help. Staff training in customer service would make a pleasanter experience for passengers.

Yesterday I got to Woolwich Arsenal Pier at 12.00pm after being dropped off by my partner as it was a clear day, I was on my way home and the boat is nice and airy with good social distancing.

Great, a few other passengers, I haven’t missed the boat. The displays gave times of one being in 10 minutes and another I think 19 minutes. We stood there like idiots for half an hour until one of the passengers looked up that the Thames barrier was closed. I have a disabled freedom pass so I had to buy my ticket before boarding. I then had to get on a packed bus to get to the O2 Pier. Had I have known, I would have just got the train home all the way.

When I filled in the complaint form, the reply was, I should of checked Twitter. I don’t have it. I should have downloaded the app if regular for service updates. The destination board needs to be updated stating there no boats. It’s a unmanned pier with no help. When I go to a train station with a white board simple no train is well communicated. The complaint department made me feel like I did little research. The service updates on the websites are hidden and not well displayed and needs a good web designer.

The staff on board are always pleasant, it’s bright and airy and if you want you can sit outside. They told us they would be taking time to clean the boat before letting people on.

Hi, Thanks for posting your feedback. We are sorry that your experience was marred. Closure of the Barrier when it is planned and known in advance is communicated via our website. Boards at piers are provided by TfL with live departure data hosted on external systems. As our routes have got busier and more complex, the system is no longer fit for purpose. We have invested in a new system that is being deployed in stages and once fully integrated, will address the issue of better communication on boards at piers. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind Regards.
