- fjgncc0 contributionsExcellent Experience on DayTrip to Oxford and the CotswaldsWe had a wonderful experience traveling with our guide John on a 16-person trip from London to Oxford and the Cotswalds. While there was much to see, we easily accomplished our personal goals for exploring key places, seeing some beautiful places, and grabbing a bite at one of the many restaurants and cafes along the way. John was personable and regaled us with fascinating history and unexpected details. He was also terrific at keeping us organized and on time and yet attentive to individual needs where we could take our own paths. We didn’t know what exactly to expect but were very pleased with the outcome and would definitely work with Robbie’s again on another excursion.Written 13 January 2025
- Marc M0 contributionsOur driver John was amazing. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. This was a great experience. Would do it again n a heartbeat. Keep in mind there is t much to do in the Cotswolds. It’s a walk around and do pictures type of adventure.Written 13 January 2025
- D169JErobertb0 contributionsGreat day tour with a very engaging and entertaining driverAwesome experience! It actually started while driving through London when the driver (who was also the tour guide) talked about some of the neighborhoods we were traveling through. Speaking of the tour guide, she was very engaging and knowledgeable and kept us all entertained without being annoying. I feel we had everything we needed to make our visits to Oxford and the Cotswolds enjoyable. I definitely recommend this tour.Written 10 January 2025

- TrailBlazer3767610 contributionsA great time had by all on our Rabbie Tour with Neil Bateman. We went on our first organized tour & chose Rabbie's not knowing anything about them. We are thrilled we chose them and our Tour Driver Extraordinaire Neil Bateman was superb. He made our trip extra special right from the beginning. We had a small group which consisted of about 7 women from Australia, 1 from Germany, and us (my husband and I from the USA.) We quickly bonded as a group and we all loved loved loved Neil. He was a great driver, a great tour guide, and just SO MUCH FUN!!! He made it all so fun and so easy. He was a wealth of knowledge, played great music, decorated the tour bus and wore his mask for all of us on Halloween and played great Halloween music. One of our last nights we all went out to a pub for dinner and Neil joined us. We gave him a card and gift to thank him for being such a great great guy. His knowledge and warm and friendly personaity was a real treat for each and every one of us. We would highly highly recommend Rabbie Tours and if you are lucky enough to find out that Neil Bateman is your driver/tour guide then you are in for a great great experience.Written 5 January 2025

- anyas9400 contributionsGreat tour, tough driveOur guide was great and loved the locations! So much history, some of the best lunch food I’ve had in England, and really picturesque. Wish we would’ve had a rest stop or some kind of way to break up the trip back as due to traffic it was almost 3 hours in the van with no bathroom and/or quick leg stretch. The long journey plus no wifi on the van made the driving harder than other tours I’ve been on, but wouldn’t stop me from going.Written 31 December 2024

- vickieo7570 contributionsThe Best Group Tour EverThis was an outstanding tour to a part of England that we had never visited. The small group allowed everyone to get to know one another. The pace was good , just leisurely enough to allow time to pursue our individual interests. What made the tour outstanding was the driver-guide, David Coatsworth! He was a real “Renaissance Man”, with an extensive knowledge and experience of all of the areas where we visited. He also was an excellent troubleshooter who kept the tour moving smoothly and enjoyably! Rabbi3’s is forunate to have him on their staff!!Written 24 December 2024
- ChiaraC0120 contributionsGreat!Great experience. Carl and Emir have been amazing, they explained many things and made jokes. Even though my family couldn’t understand everything, they tried to talk to them. The bus is really comfortable and we’ve been able to visit what we wanted. He gave us a lot of free time at each location, as well as a map and recommendations. Considering the cost of train fares, it was very cost effective and relatively easy to coordinateWritten 13 December 2024
- 814sheag0 contributionsBeautiful scenery & villagesThis small-group day tour was the perfect way to experience the timeless beauty of Oxford and the idyllic charm of the Cotswolds. From start to finish, the day was incredibly well-organized, yet never felt rushed, allowing us to savor every moment. Oxford was a dream for history and literature lovers alike. Strolling through its iconic colleges and cobblestone streets felt like stepping back in time. The transition to the Cotswolds was seamless, and the picturesque villages were even more stunning in person than in photos. Each stop had its own character—whether it was honey-colored cottages, quaint tea shops, or peaceful countryside views. The small group size made the experience feel intimate, and we could explore these charming villages without the crowds. If you’re seeking a delightful mix of history, culture, and natural beauty, this tour is an absolute must. It’s a fantastic way to escape London for the day and experience the quintessential English countryside.Written 7 December 2024

Me and my wife did this two day tour a couple of days ago. Our guide and driver was Mr. Graham. Our bus wasn’t full. Not even half full. But the enthusiasm our guide has was not only full but very peppy. He made sure to pass it on his excitement to us throughout the journey along with few small maps which Rabbies has made to help us on our walking tours. He was very caring and funny as well. There wasn’t a moment we felt alienated. Oh and yes they do cover all the places they mention on the trip itinerary. They are very punctual as well. It took us two days to catch up with their punctuality and yes we did the two day Bath and the Costwalds trip.

My husband and I traveled to London for a week and the Rabbie's tour was a true highlight. Christo was our tour guide, he was informative, and made the trip personal with stories and info of each section, he was fantastic. I felt like I was in a storybook for much of the trip, the beauty of it was surreal. We really enjoyed every stop, and they were all well timed (the amount of time at each stop was perfect), and a good variety. I wasn't excited about Avebury, but it was beautiful and interesting, much better than I anticipated. Bath was fascinating, and Bibury was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. I loved every minute of this trip, I couldn't recommend it more!

We stayed in the charming hotel and loved it. The tour is small and intimate. Our tour guide Russell is very knowledgeable and attenentive. There was only 4 of us on the tour since it was the off season.
We saw many charming villages and were immersed into local village life, strolling along the winding streets and enjoying local pubs and bakeries. Cotswolds is simply magical, many of the attractions are well preserved and protected. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone! Simply amazing!

Our tour guide Pete was fantastic. He was friendly, helpful, always smiling and made sure everyone was comfortable. He was very informative and told us about all the places we passed along the way. The tour began and ended on time. The Old bungalow Guest House was lovely as were the owners. My sisters and I loved everything about this tour and in particular Bath and Bilbury,"the prettiest village in England". Thank you Pete and Rabbies for a relaxing, fun, and enjoyable two days. How nice to have someone look after us while we sat back and relaxed.

I would start out pointing out Rabbie's generousity. We ended up 3 tourists on a trip with one bus driver (Kevi) and a guide (Nigel). Despite the low number of particpants Rabbie's still arranged this trip for us 3. It was a great pleasure and actually an advantage for us tourists as we had a closer connection and more interesting conversations with our guides.
It is my second trip with Rabbie's and again a pleasurable experience. I will definitely go on their trip again. Why do I like Rabbie's?
1. They try to create a bond with their turists in a friendly manner, they listen to what tourists wish to see and experience on the trip.
2. They tell history and stories about places you visit in a relaxed and friendly manner.
3. They thoroughly organise each trip and choose some good places to see. You will both get the most known ones and some special ones.
For this particular trip - I absolutely loved all the destinations. Each of them is worth visiting and seeing, but Costwolds are the favorite one with its small towns and villages, old inns and pubs. Very charming indeed...

As much as it is great to see the sights in the City of London, you need to do yourselves a favour and get to the country and explore. What an amazing part of the world this is, and we had the best guide (Russell) who went out of his way to make the experience even better. Small group of 4, which was perfect. B&B - fabulous - in Cirencester was just a short stroll to the town. Pity we didn't get longer here!! Totally recommend this tour and Rabbies. Thanks Russ for the detour and help at the end, very much appreciated.

Hi Tracey,
We couldn't agree more - it's always nice to have a break from the hustle and bustle explore further. The Cotswolds are quite a contrast to the bright lights of London and we're glad you enjoyed your time here.

I and my daughter took this short trip after 2days sight seeing in London. Small villages with stone circle are good for change of mood of England travel. Our driver Pete arranged to visit Bibury the morning of Day 2 so that we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. The visits of Bath and Oxford gave us to have opportunities to know the other aspects of the busy towns where are well contrasted to London. We acknowledged the hospitality of Pete who introduce the pubs and restaurants in Cirencester where we did not know any idea about the town.

Lucky us - the weather was beautiful, flowers in bloom and a delightful 2 day tour. Our guide/driver, Pete, was well prepared for the tour with handouts each day of maps and local information. Also, there was a large map of the UK in the front of the bus, with our destinations marked out. So helpful when you are not familiar with the area.

Another fabulous small group tour run by Rabbie’s. Cannot fault the professionalism and knowledge of our guide. James was enthusiastic showing a genuine enjoyment in sharing his knowledge of the history and geography of the region. A good sense of humour helped us feel at ease to chat and ask questions. I just wish it was longer. Despite the time of year, making it cold, we still had an amazing time, a coat, scarf, jacket and gloves solves the cold and it is nice to see the first signs of Spring peaking through gentle snow flurries. As you travel through villages it seems as if time stood still centuries ago, you can even hear the sounds of centuries gone.

I'm so glad we got to see this stunning bit of the English countryside with Pete as our capable and friendly tour guide. From the start, Pete welcomed us onto the bus with warmth and as soon as we buckled in, he was sharing history and stories about London from the past and into today. I wasn't expecting such depth of knowledge along the way—from how and why the stone fence are built, too how much a thatched cottage costs today, and historical tales of the places we were going, to some relevant personal stories from Pete and things about present-day England. It was wonderful. Avebury Stones were an unexpected highlight (totally idyllic, infatuated by the neolithic history, amazing photo ops), and we loved wandering the charming villages. I wish I'd done a little more research on what to see in Oxford as it was bigger than I expected—but definitely glad we went up the 1000-year-old church tower for a high up view on one of Pete's recommendations. We're already thinking about what tour do with Rabbies next time we're in the UK.

Hi there,
I have already reserved my ticket to this Cotswolds tour in mid June. So exvited! By the way, could you possibly tell me which Cotswolds villages we visit during the tour? I would like to learn about those villages beforehand.

can I sit in the front next to driver so I can point my camera out the window. rather than through glass? Or do you have windows in back that role down?
Written 3 May 2019
I don't believe the windows roll down at all. The front seat is probably available for people who need extra leg room for whatever reason.
The viewing from pretty much anywhere on the bus is really good, lovely sized windows.

Does Rabbie do a customized tour for a group of 10-12 people covering similar area of England?
Written 11 January 2019
Agree they would try to accommodate you, but it seems there are at least a few different services that book these same tours. I mean, literally the same tours. Some of our van of eight people had booked through Rabbies and some had booked through Viator. So you might try Viator to inquire about a variation from the norm. I’m pretty sure they do it (probably charge a premium) but let us know.
