Overview
Sightseeing in Liverpool isn’t just about viewing the sights on land, it’s also about admiring the UNESCO-listed waterfront from the River Mersey. This tour lets you do both and more with a hop-on hop-off double-decker tour, a Mersey cruise to see the skyline from the water, and an admission ticket to Woodside’s U-Boat Story Museum. Ideal for first-timers and anyone seeking a hassle-free overview of the city with background on the sights.
What to Expect
River Explorer Cruise (50-minute loop):
Board your River Explorer ferry at River Mersey’s Pier Head. The boats run hourly between 10am and 4pm.
Cruise by the UNESCO-protected waterfront, passing the Royal Liver Building and Albert Dock, and learn about Liverpool’s history from the information zones and commentary. Hear about The Beatles ‘Riverboat Shuffle’ gigs of the 1960s.
Hop off at the Seacombe, Wirral, or Woodside stops, and opt to use your included admission ticket to Woodside’s U-Boat Story Museum to learn about Germany’s World War II U-boats
City Explorer Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Tour:
At Pier Head, use your 24-hour pass to board the open-top City Explorer double-decker bus, and enjoy a sightseeing drive around attractions such asthe Cavern Quarter and Albert Dock.
Disembark at any stop to explore independently, or stay aboard for the full loop, listening to the onboard commentary. See the Itinerary for listed stops. Buses run every 30 minutes.
