He didn’t disappoint and we’re still talking about how great of a guide he is and the amazing day we had. Thank you, Dan!Written 23 March 2025

- 357kirkd0 contributionsGreat tour for first-time visitorsThis was our first time in Bath and Daniel did an excellent job giving us an overview of the City, the history and really brought Bath to life through stories, photos and videos from the city’s early days through more recent events. Daniel is kind, funny and patient as my wife and I asked questions or had us take slight detours. Highly recommend booking this personalized tour.Written 10 March 2025
- markpB2368SO0 contributionsBest Bath tour guide!Daniel was recommended by friends of ours. We absolutely loved our private tour of Bath with him. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around Bath and learning the fascinating history. Daniel grew up in Bath and it was so enjoyable to have his personal perspective and interesting and entertaining facts about the people and the city. Highly recommend having a tour with Daniel and Bath Insider Tours.Written 19 February 2025
- nialls20180 contributionsAn engaging knowledgable and entertaining guideWhat an engaging, knowledgable and entertaining experience. Communication beforehand was superb, and there was significant flexibility in how many people were coming. Dan collected us from our accommodation and drove us to Stonehenge and back. His knowledge of the stones was superb, taking us on a tour through the visitor centre before visiting the stones. If we hadn’t got the knowledge beforehand we would have been oblivious about the setting and meaning of this place. Would highly recommend the trip.Written 15 February 2025
- Hilary M0 contributionsDaniel is the best!Daniel is a wonderful sweet and knowledgeable tour guide. I was lucky to meet him almost 5 yrs ago on a previous trip, and he was just as outstanding the second time. Thank you so much for touring my daughter and I around the villages in Cotswolds. Sharing and making great memories.Written 25 December 2024
- J273FOjustint0 contributionsBath tour with Daniel is outstanding and highly recommended! Our American family of 5 (with young adult kids) had THE BEST time with Daniel on our Bath tour. Daniel taught us engaging Bath history through personal stories, myths and tales, and taking us right up to the history itself as we walked and talked. He’s a delight to spend an afternoon with, and we would recommend him to everyone! You can see how respected and liked he is in the city he grew up in by the interactions and smiles he got from each place we stopped. His stories and stops like to the local cheese shop were extra fun and special. He made our trip to Bath so special and memorable. We highly encourage you to book with Daniel and enjoy the sights while learning, laughing, and loving your experience. Any tour he offers will be outstanding. Thanks again for a great day Daniel!Written 17 December 2024
- lucykK6658IH0 contributionsExcellent tour! We all loved it!I booked Daniel for a private Bridgerton tour for my sister’s hen party in November 2024. It was fantastic! Daniel was accommodating to our hen games during the tour and included his own quiz. He was approachable answering all questions and considerate of us all throughout. Some of the group (myself included) are lovers of history and were very grateful that Daniel included aspects of Jane Austen’s life and the regency period while also showing the Bridgerton sites to us. The whole hen party enjoyed and I have already recommended him to others! Looking forward to another tour soon, thank you!Written 7 December 2024
- 940MarkR9400 contributionsTruly amazing and highly recommended. Our company visited Bath for the week, with team members flying in from all over Europe. We organized this tour as a special event for the entire company, and it exceeded all expectations! Daniel was absolutely fantastic—his deep knowledge and engaging storytelling brought the city to life. He connected with everyone in our group, making the experience enjoyable for all. Many of the team are already planning return visits because they were so inspired by what they saw and learned. As someone who’s lived in Bath for four years, I was amazed at how much I discovered about my own city. Daniel’s insights made me appreciate it on a whole new level. Truly an incredible experience and one I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting (or even living in) Bath. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Written 3 December 2024
- Patricia M0 contributionsFun way to tour Bath!Best tour guide ever! Dan brought in stories from Bridgerton with local lore. Showed us scenes from the show on his iPad and how modern aspects were hidden. Very easy to talk to and we played quiz where anyone could guess the right answer. Would definitely recommend!Written 28 October 2024
- ItchyFeet323120 contributions3 of us off to the Cotswolds! We had the most enjoyable day with Daniel Hancock as our guide. - 551jessib0 contributionsWell knowledgeable and personal tour!Dan provided such a warm and personal tour! Very knowledgeable throughout our tour and was able to show us off the beaten path. He was willing to detour to show us new things as well. We shared such a wonderful afternoon in Glastonbury and had a clean and comfortable car. I would love to have another tour with him in the future!Written 27 October 2024
- donjfarr0 contributionsHighest marks we can give!First, Bath is a wonderful place to visit, and we highly recommend it. Now, on to Bath Insider Tours. Without going into super deep details, we can only say that Daniel was a treat to spend a couple of days with. As a native of Bath, he has a deep affection and appreciation for the city and the surrounding areas coupled with a great understanding of its history and culture. Daniel also carries a "bag of tricks" with him that turns a walking tour into a mulit-media experience. He will pull out photos, videos, and music to animate his commentary. Actually, commentary is not a good word, it is story telling the entertains and enlightens at the same time. We give Bath Insider Tours our highest recommendation without reservation.Written 24 October 2024
- jillkp5100 contributionsHIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!Daniel made the day amazingly fun and educational. His personal stories and wit kept us entertained and the knowledge that he shared with us about Stonehenge fired up our curiosity. I definitely recommend THIS TOUR! I cannot say enough good things about our tour of Bath and the West Country with Daniel ! His deep familiarity and knowledge of the area, along with terrific organizational skills, took us to so many significant sites and extraordinary scenes. No time was wasted trying to read maps or call for transportation. Lunch was arranged at a historic pub/cafe each day, with a range of meal choices. He is courteous, well prepared, and charming. He looked out for our comfort, and easily picked up on our personal interests at the various sights.
He was able to secure a room upgrade at an historic Georgian hotel to include in his overall tour fee, and recommended areas we could explore for dinner. I feel we have a new friend, who has shared his home city with us in the most expansive way.

If we could give Daniel a 10, we would, but five is the highest 😁. We spent three full days with him, and he was unfailingly thoughtful, entertaining, and very knowledgeable. He showed us Bath, of course, Stonehenge, the highlights of Wells and Cheddar, and a wonderful experience at a falconry with a hawk named Charlie. He even customized our trip so that we could visit a farm that we were interested in, and that was very special for us. There are areas that we weren’t able to see in those three days and we are seriously thinking of exploring those with him at some point. We really wish him the best in his business.

Daniel’s 3 Day tour exceeded our expectations! He is a very knowledgeable, personable and attentive guide! The Bath / Wells area is beautiful and we were definitely shown the highlights. Daniel modified our itinerary slightly as we went along and as he got to know us better. I will say the hike to the top of the Cheddar Gorge turned out to be a highlight! We really enjoyed staying in Bath at Dukes. Daniel was also able to give us a number of restaurant choices. We had been on a 12 night cruise before meeting Daniel. We appreciated viewing the countryside, Stonehenge, quaint pubs and villages on our land excursion!
We would recommend Daniel and any of his tour options to those who would like to experience a bit more if the Bath area.

After arriving at the Southampton cruise terminal, we were met by Daniel who picked us up and whisked us off to Stonehenge for the first part of our 3 day private tour. Daniel owns the company and was born and raised in Bath so his knowledge of the area is excellent. He took care of all the details, including reservations at a wonderful bed & breakfast in Bath (Duke's Bath), reservations at local pubs or restaurants for lunch, and planned a wonderful itinerary for us. Major highlights were Stonehenge, Wells, Cheddar, Bath and a falconry on the grounds that Prince Charles owns. He also took us on country roads, hiked up the mountain to see Cheddar Valley, and many other unique and wonderful sites. We have traveled all over the world, taken many private and group tours, and I can honestly say Daniel's tour was one of the best. I would not hesitate to take another tour with him!
