What to Expect
After a scenic ride from downtown Vancouver, arrive in the charming center of Steveston Heritage Fishing Village. Door-to-door shuttle service from your hotel is available, if the option is selected, as well as free parking for those who drive. Tours depart rain or shine, as all boats are equipped with both open decks and covered cabins. Snap photos in the serene waters of the Gulf Islands, while an expert in marine biology gives you an overview of the animals in the area. The captain navigates to the best spots for orca sightings, and the onboard naturalist ensures you don’t miss out on seeing a variety of sea creatures, including orcas, sea lions, and porpoises. Complimentary hydrophones give you a rare opportunity to hear whale calls in real time. Enjoy a snack on board before docking back in Steveston Village, the perfect place for a relaxing afternoon, or hop back on the shuttle to your Vancouver hotel.

In regards to the short viewing of the Humpback Whale, this was most likely because you found them quite late in your trip. Our tours only run from 3-5 hours depending on where the whales are and the day last week that we saw Humpbacks and Killer Whales the tour was over 5 hours so we were not able to stay on the water any longer to keep to our schedule. My wife and I enjoyed our trip today. We saw a few humpback whales and it was a lot of fun. We saw eagles, osprey, seals and sea lions. I think they handled the Covid precautions really well.... I felt safe in the water and in terms of social distancing...
