Unfortunately this did not live up to expectation. The glass in the glass bottom boat was so dirty with algae you could not see through it. The ride on the scubadoo was only 10 minutes at best out of a 4 hour excursion. So there was a lot of waiting around. Such a shame for what could have been a great excursion

    Honeymoon trip-- April-May 2021
Fun trip. The transportation was a little screwed up-- we spent forty five minutes waiting at a collection point for vans to arrive with guests from other resorts to join the main bus to Bayahibe. The boat was run down, and the Bayahibe Beach launching point is full of scamsters trying to sell you cheap souvenirs. We got water and basic sandwiches as snacks. Long boat ride, with a detour up the Chavon River that was completely pointless. Stopped for a half hour of snorkeling off the back of the boat. Okay, mostly fish trained to come around as they threw white bread overboard. On to the island. Decent beach, but extremely rocky/coral and not great swimming.

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS AGENCY!
Me and my girlfriend booked through them on our arrival at Punta Cana Princess. They canceled our trip the next day and told us about it after 3 hours, after we woke up at 6am and drove by car to the airport. After couple of days, when I back home, I noticed they charged me first 140 pounds and 15 pounds after without any reason. Then I phoned GAVIN, the supervisor of the escursion, and he lied to me saying that I will get a refund. 1 month after, I still waiting for it. Very unprofessional! How can you still people money like this?? We work hard to deserve this kind of vacations, and the only thing we wish it's not to meet people like you. Very very disappointed, Please avoid this agency and never give your bank details.

    We were unable to go!
Keep in mind when you book this excursion to do it towards the beginning of you vacation in case they reschedule. We didn’t think about high winds causing us to be unable to go two days in a row, so we missed out.

    Long ride but beautiful beach
By the time the bus picked us up and we picked up people at other resorts we spent one hour and fifty minutes on the bus, note they had the bathroom on the bus so we couldn't use, a few of us barely made it after morning coffee. They told us it would be fifty minute ride. My husband dive and the coral wall was food but snorkeling was just ok and because of so many boats we had to stay within a small space. We could only snorkel off the island with guide and not much to see. Fed us lunch nothing special but filled you up. Our boat ride home was very rough, white caps after a storm went through

ok tour, poor transportation and logistics
Obviously a canned package tour, but coordinating the various people on to the bus from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo was stressful. Drivers/coordinators didn't speak English, and aside from the pick-up from hotel, wasn't told that we would be re-shuffled or what was going on. We went from hotel to a gas station where a bunch of vans & buses were mixing people and getting their tours together. After about half hour my group went on small van, very beat up, with no English explanation of what was going on. We stopped along the way at a tourist shop (don't buy, they are way more expensive than you'll find later in the city). But clean bathrooms. The SD tour was ok. The guide or tour company more interested in hitting trinket shops than sharing the history and culture experience. There were 3 souvenirs stops. 2 too many, and be careful of both the exchange rate they give you and the prices. They played games with me at 2 of the shops, took money from me each time with tricks with counting money or getting "confused" with basic addition and over-charging. Saw them laugh and pocket money after checking some people out. Hopefully isolated incident. The place they took us for lunch was superb. I didn't expect such good service and food since it obviously catered to tourists. nice surprise. Overall, long day but got to thoroughly see the city. The walk to the caves is very impressive (moderate amount of stairs). Pay the extra couple dollars to see the last cave requiring someone to pull the group to the other side on a raft. Worth it just for the view. Bring a couple bottles of water, sunscreen if you easily burn. People on the tour very nice, especially the ones trying patiently fixing my Spanish.

Catalina Island Day Trip from Punta Cana
This trip was disappointing. The snorkelling was not good. Hardly saw any fish. The part of the island we were dropped off was very rustic. Beach chairs were broken. There was debris that looked like broken plastic stacked up behind the beach chairs. Beach was not big and was rocky. Paid $100US and was a waste of a day. The staff on the boat and beach tried hard and were entertaining on the boat. Food was ok and drinks were the same. Bus trip was long.

    A lot in one day
My husband and I signed up for the 5 hour tour. We were at the designated place waiting for pick up which didn't happen! I messaged the tour group who then called me to tell us that the tour was cancelled for that day because they didn't have enough people. So they put us on the tour for the next day which had enough people. We were picked up on time the next day expecting to be back in 5 hours only to find out from tourists on the bus that it was the 9 hour trip! It would have been nice if the tour company had informed us of this the day before so we would have been prepared clothing-wise etc for the longer trip. (This trip also included horse back riding and the beach which the one we signed up for did not!) Nevertheless, the places we visited were just okay and the lunch was adequate. The stop at the basillica was very brief and we didn't get to see it's museum. The beach at Macao had really rough surf and certainly wasn't as pretty as the many beaches we have visited in the Dominican Republic. The best part of the day were all the great people we spent the day with on the safari bus especially our tour guide, Sammy, who was personable, funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. We had a great photographer, Waldrin (Don't remember how to spell his name), a superb bartender, Jojo, and an exceptional bus driver, Eduardo.

    Scubadoo
I had a great time on the scubadoo excursion , they bring you out to a platform , with some beautiful coral reefs , you snorkel until it's your turn to go in the scubadoo machine and it's really cool to go around , they throw some bread out so the fish come around you, i had alot of fun i went by myself .

    Horseback Riding Experience was Horrible
My husband and I did the 2 hour horseback riding tour to the beach. We were told we would be picked up at 8:00 am for our excursion. We sat in our lobby and waited, my husband saw a truck pull up, walked to the man, asked if he was there to pick us up for a riding tour, the man said no & left. We then got a call at 8:30 that we missed the truck & he didn't see us even though my husband talked to him and he told us he wasn't there for us. Annoying, but not a big deal. They picked us up at 11:00 instead. Regarding the actual excursion - We are horse owners and have riding experience & I was shocked at the lack of instruction that they provided to the participants. The horses were very dangerous & clearly over worked. They bucked, kicked, bit and did not listen to the rider. The guide maintained a trot nearly the entire 2 hours which made the new riders uncomfortable and exhausted the horses. I would have been terrified on this trip if it was my first time horseback riding. On the ride itself, we rode through narrow muddy paths that were lined with barbed wire. The horses were pushing the riders legs into the barbed wire. Once we made it to the beach we spent 10 minutes there and were rushed back on our horse. We also stopped at a backwoods "plantation" which was really just a shop in which you were pressured to drink their samples & then buy their products. It made us very uncomfortable. I really think it is only a matter of time until someone is seriously injured on this excursion due to a lack of concern for the safety and wellbeing of both the horses and the riders. I would NOT recommend this excursion to anyone, even experienced riders.

2 hour horse back riding sunset tour
There was no riding on the beach. Complete false advertising. 1hour ride through muddy narrow paths through farms, town and farms. We only had 10 mins on a very busy beach (No sunset) without our horses and no water provided. Only thing is the guides were great; very helpful and supportive to those that were nervous in my group. Would not recommend a waste of money and ruined our day in this country.

We always like to do one trip while we are on vacation. Our travel agent suggested this one, saying it was his favorite trip. We decided on the VIP Sanoa Island tour. It was around $152.00 per person. We were picked up at our resort around 7:10am. The bus was large and air conditioned. Our driver and tour guide were great. Driving a bus in the DR is not a fun thing. We then went from resort to resort picking up other people. The drive through the country side was beautiful. It is nice to see other parts of the Island. We arrived at the boat around 9am. Getting from the bus to the boat was not very fun. You are basically attacked by the locals, they want you to purchase their items. Our tour guide did warn us about these people and he did get us through safely. This occurred again on the way back from the boat to the bus. There was snorkeling when we got on the boat. Just around the boat for about 15-20mins. Then we were on our way. The crew on the catamaran was great. Friendly and so much fun. Dancing, playing fun music. Lots of snacks and lots of drinks. All you want. We arrived at the natural swimming pool. This natural pool is worth the whole trip. Absolutely spectacular. Blue blue water and white soft sand. I could of stayed there for hours. Lots of boats, lots of people and music. After swimming her for a while we went to Saona Island. The food and drinks here were very good. If you leave hungry it is because your a picky eater. Lots of home made Dominican food, which I thought was very tasty, and much better than the selections of food at the hotel. The beach on the other hand was just ok. Lots of shells, and rocks. It was hard to see the bottom because the ocean was a little rough. I felt the beach at the hotel was much better. This beach was a non resort beach. I would call it a wild beach. We were at the beach till about 3pm. On the way back we took a speed boat. More drinks. They did not skimp on the drinks. It was all you wanted. It was a quick ride back to the bus. On the bus we were offered a souvenir bottle of rum with a CD of Dominican song favorites. It was $17 for both. It is totally worth it. The rum is pretty good and it has a picture of you on the front, and the CD has over 30 songs on it. It is a great CD. I am so glad we got it. We stopped one more time on the way back at a gift shop. Lots of snacks and gifts and bathrooms. Very reasonable prices. It was only $1 for a bottle of water. We were dropped off at our hotel around 6:30pm. I want to say again that our bus drive and tour guide were great. It was a long day. I don't know if we would every take a long day trip like this again. I think we may stick with the 4 to 6 hour trips.

Over all the trip was fun. The pick up was a little rough. The company was a little disorganized. I felt really bad for our tour guide because people were yelling at him and he was trying his best to get a boat to take us to the island, but people ultimately waited over an hour and a half crammed in a tiny area on the beach with nothing to really do but stand there. I think that kind of set the mood for a lot of people - at least at first. I think our guide's name was Wilberto. He was a really nice guy and he really tried to get a boat there for us, but there were just so many people that they didn't have enough boats.

Once we got a boat, we went to see the starfish. That was pretty cool. Make sure you look for them while you are on the boat. You can see them in the water, but they are not "all over the place" so if you might not get to see one if you don't spot them first. We were able to see a few both in the water and on the boat.

Next was Saona Island. That was fun overall. They have an open bar and a buffet. The food was really good! You can also get a massage on the beach. The water was nice except its rocky. I scraped up my toes on the rocks.

The way back is a party boat. They played music and had an open bar. We were all dancing and mingling. That was really fun.

Tour guide was Tito speaks 5 fluent languages!
We were picked from Excellence el Carmen resort and 1 bus ride took us to a transfer point where we boarded a larger bus and continued on. Total bus ride 2hrs,or so.. then Catamaran to island was another 2.5hrs. We arrived 12:30, 5minute easy flat trail hike and straight for lunch. What Nexus fails to tell you about all drinks on the Catamaren***: its "tiny" glasses of pop, water, beer or rum.*** not cans, or bottles of water, or your usual drinks that you may be accustomed to. The music on the Catamaran was Dominican dance only, which was nice exposure to music and dance but 2.5 hrs was bit monotonous and became annoying after while. Staff do try to engage you however to make it fun and enjoyable. Saona Island itself : absolutely beautiful. Enjoy it. However, the women there will nag you to no end to offer rmassage. There are men trying to sell things but you say no and they move on, the women literally force their handson your feet, legs, shoulders and actually verbally abuse you when you decline. If you are strong enough to maintain "no" against people who may approach you, then this tour is for you. The boat back was a speedboat so you get back to bus in an hr as opposed to 2.5 on catamaran. Would I do it again? Probably not, did I enjoy it, yes for most part. But I'm glad I'm swimmer and not a beach bunny that likes to lay in the sun because the women constantly apparaoching me would have been harrassment all day and this review may have been much different.

the worst tour ever, we were waiting from 7:40 a.m. to 8:35 a.m. for them to pick us up, the aoutobus is small and full of people (about 20), it takes about 1 hour to get to BAHIBE there you have to walk to ek point where the boats leave, another half hour wait, the time that you stop enjoying the natural pools and the beach of saona is minimal, they are only interested in getting money from you in photos, tips for the one who drives the boat, the bus, the guide, the photos are a scandal who wants to charge like 100 dollars for digital photos in the era dq any phone takes incredible photos.
A pina colada 10 dollars and lunch nothing to see, the drinks are only rum with cola and only that.
I recommend investing with the locals that they do know about the companies that provide better service.

Excursion was a total disaster from the beginning. As per instructions, we called the tour company 24 hours prior to confirm our pickup. After 4 different attempts, our travel agent finally got a hold of someone who spoke english and was told we were on the list for pickup at 0700 am. We waited in the lobby until 0800 am and no pickup ever arrived. We made multiple attempts to call the tour company and were unable to reach anybody, so we went about our day. Our travel agent finally got ahold of the tour company and was told that they were at the hotel waiting for us until 0730 which was absolutely not true. Avoid this tour company, they are terrible!

Disappointed with our trip. We were promised a catamaran trip on the way back which never happened. Did not like to see our tour guide take a percentage of the tips earned by the girls on the beach giving massages, Worst part of trip was seeing a young girl being repeatedly served straight shots of rum at the bar even after it was asked that the bartender stop serving her. Then to have to take a boat ride back with this young girl when she was barely conscious and vomiting the entire boat ride back. Worst excursion I have ever taken!

Believe every bad review you read, horrible organization, logistics, and communication. The guide barely spoke English. They literally couldn’t find our transportation back to the hotel so stopped on the side of the highway, in the dark, made us walk along the highway to find another van. Totally unsafe. We were exhausted, thirsty (no water at all and yes the drinks were in Dixie cups as stated), hungry since the food was horrible and the worst thing was we felt totally unsafe in the hands of our tour guide. It was so bad, I wish I could sue them for the anxiety the horrible trip caused! Stay on your resort beach, it’s not worth leaving for this misery.

Me and my partner paid a little bit more to go on the VIP Saona Supreme trip (full-day), because this meant we were to have the beach all to ourselves and not surrounded by the public. It was amazing from start to finish! Breath taking clear blue seas! And a lovely lunch included, two different types of boats and plenty of time to take pictures. All time was accounted for, and we all got plenty of our own sun beds to enjoy for a few hours to relax. I felt we were definitely by far looked after by our tui guide on our trip as well as the extra staff that were included on the boats that made sure your fully hydrated with drinks non alcoholic and alcoholic as well as nibbles. This trip definitely made mine and my partners holiday complete!

It was the longest day ever. The only good part was the stop on the speed boat at the "natural swimming pool" could have skipped the island all together. The other "guests" on the island left their trash everywhere which attracted bees. The food wasn't very good and the beach was extremely rocky.
