About
This cavalcade, approximately 1 hour, travels through the Forest of the Virgin or Peña de la Virgen, not including the visit to the wax palms. During the tour, you cross the Quindío River in an area known as the Planchón and cross a natural wet forest. The journey culminates at the Peña de la Virgen, where you can take photos before returning to the stable. It is an ideal experience for those seeking a quiet connection with nature, in a jungle environment and without long journeys.

- matthijs0760 contributionsBeautiful trip to Cocora ValleyThe hike and horse riding across the Cocora Valley was absolutely gorgeous. Our guide Nicolas was very friendly, helpful and explained a lot about the nature of the Cocora Valley. This was an amazing experience, I would definitely book with Cocora tours again, especially with our guide Nicolas!Written 3 September 2024
- Jyb20 contributionsAmazingAmazing day : jeep ride/horseback/ hiking through the magnificent of wax palm/perfect lunch with local products/hiking through the jungle to waterfalls… Special thinking and grateful to our guide Sara…Written 22 July 2024
- Smit C0 contributionsThis is Heaven! It was a lifetime experience, the stunning views on a horseback, this combination was out of the world, it was my first time on the horseback, kind of an adventure with trekking. There are spots where we can get down from the horse and climb a little bit for clicking stunning pictures, our guide Monica was really kind and helpful, she was always with our son, at first i thought it was risky for my 3 year old riding solo on a horse but infact he enjoyed it a lot and it was safe for him. You can watch videos on youtube of this place but trust me, relishing the experience with your own eyes makes you feel this is heaven. Truly heavenly experience.Written 31 March 2024
- X4074BWkatem0 contributionsGreat walk!Amazing walk! Cocorotours pick-up and drive to start of climb. Sarah, our translator, walked with us and provided the commentary as Julio, our guide gave us interesting info on the flora and fauna on the walk up to Condor viewpoint. The walk itself, gave us a workout, given the altitude and distance walked uphill, but the encouragement given made it a pleasant experience. And the views were spectacular! Didn’t manage to see the Condor but several vultures!Written 24 March 2024
- kamariam20190 contributionsgorgeous hike in Cocora Valley! This was an absolutely incredible experience and I would highly recommend it! Cezar was really knowledgeable and a great guide. The views were absolutely stunning and my horse was really sweet. My only complaints are with the description of the tour. In the description it says "walk" but this was definitely a hike. I tracked it, and it ended up being 6.8 miles total and 1400 ft of elevation gain- on foot. I love hiking, so this wasn't a problem for me, but I know that's not the case for everyone. It wasn't super clear from the description how intense it would be- it seemed as if the hardest parts would be done on horseback, but the horseback portion was roughly 30 minutes. I definitely would have worn more appropriate footwear and clothing if I realized. Some of the pics of the tour also included the Cocora valley sign and sculptures that are more like photo ops, ex the angel wings, and woman with her hands out, so I thought we'd be walking around and seeing these in a much more casual manner- you can see these sculptures but from a distance, the experience was much more about hiking down into the valley.Written 16 January 2024
- 932aderynl0 contributionsWorth every pennyWe really enjoyed our day out ! There was a festival in Salento so doing this tour we managed to miss some of the crowds! Lunch was delicious! Coffee farm was great but take bug spray as the mosquitos bite if they like you.Written 9 January 2024
- nabach0 contributionsAn option of hiking is not an optionIf you can't hike, it's a good option to explore parts of the valley on horseback. I recommend going early before the crowds arrive. I started at 8.30am and was the only one on the trail. The horses seemed healthy. It's much cheaper if you book locally. If you book on their website it's more expensive. There always seem to be horses available so I would just go and try your luck. It's a bit strange that the guides walk with you instead of riding. My tour ended 30 minutes early.Written 29 December 2023
- 239lateshah0 contributionsUnforgettable and unmissableThe perfect experience to have in Salento, I would highly recommend the longer tour -- trekking through the jungle and seeing the different stages of the Cocora Valley was amazing. One of the best tours I've ever had, would happily do it again!Written 27 November 2023
- anaaP7035OD0 contributionsAmazing experienceNicolás and Frendy were both amazing. They let us take our time and enjoy the beauty of the cócora valley, they were super friendly too! I would definitely recommend them! The tour in the coffee farm was very good as well, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, we learned a lot about coffee! The lunch was included and it was delicious!Written 21 November 2023
- tyc7870 contributionsExcellent tour with some tough hiking but worth the effortLoved this tour, it had everything we wanted. Daniel was an excellent guide and pointed out a lot of things we would've missed about plants, nature, native birds, and the history. The horse back riding was a great experience but in the short side, there are other tours that feature more of that if you want a longer house back riding experience. The views from the lookout of the cocora valley are stunning. You will see nature in its splendor as well as all the photo op spots (the hand, wings, cocora valley sign, etc). There's also the option of a seeing a bigger waterfall or smaller one. We chose the one big one. The hike to get there was steep and challenging so be forewarned. We made it and it was worth the effort. Bonus, this cute dog that lives on the area will walk up with you and guide you to the spot. Overall great experience and I would recommend.Written 19 November 2023
- 2shaina0 contributionsGreat tour with horseback ride, hike, and waterfall! This was a great tour! Our guide Dani was so kind and informative. We learned a lot and had a great day of adventures. I enjoyed having a guide to handle everything even though it is possible to go on your own. He taught us a lot of things I wouldn't otherwise know about the area. Great experience!Written 25 October 2023
- Luisa F0 contributionsWonderful! The tour guide was wonderful. We were two adults and a 9 & 11 year olds. We had two guides during the horseback ride and then during the hike portion we had the main tour guide.Written 28 September 2023
- danaf5580 contributionsAuthentic TourGreat tour, very authentic. Nico was friendly, patient, flexible with the schedule, forthcoming (helped with my bag and took photos), explained a lot about the nature and the region. Natalia from the Buenos Aires farm was superb, great knowlege and engagement and had a good handle of the large & diverse group. Then lunch, the Jeep ride and the music were also nice highlights of the trip!Written 17 August 2023
- Becca M0 contributions10/10 - book it and don’t hesitate!Would highly recommend this tour. Worth every penny. Our guide Andres was incredible. He had amazing English and was so friendly and kind. He arrived early and came with water, was able to answer any questions we had and was very informative when it came to the hike. We had a delicious meal with a lovely view and then went onto the coffee farm Buenos Aires which was really good. Anderson was our guide here and he was great fun and we loved picking the beans and tasting coffee! Thanks again Andres! We loved every minute!!Written 3 August 2023
