About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Karen J0 contributionsPerfect guided tour in a breathtaking location!Had a great time on our tour. Miles Canyon is breathtaking and not to be missed. Nice length ( a bit over 3 hours). Very personable and knowledgeable guides. One note - while advertised as easy and flat, there were some elavation changes and one scramble up some rocks. We're in our 60s and in decent shape and got through it ok, but by thr end I was regretting not taking the offered walking sticks, although I just grabbed a l9ose branch for maybe the last mile. Lots of opportunities for spectacular pictures!Written 8 October 2024
- ScottWade220 contributionsOut of This WorldFrom the first second, I knew Arctic Range was going to help me customize my journey, a bucket list trip to see and photograph the Northern Lights from their remote site about an hour from Whitehorse. While other companies were quick to ask exactly when I would be going, what package I chose and... "credit card please, number", the staff at Arctic Range started asking me more individual questions: What do you hope to see, how much time did I have, were their any physical limitations, what kind of travel do you REALLY enjoy." From my first contact until the last day when we said goodbye in their downtown office, I knew their goal was me having the time of my life. At the site one night, I was having trouble with focus and technical issues. A staff member who photographs bears in Canada took the time to explain to me things about my camera I didn't even know, and it's my CAMERA! I booked for 4 nights viewing, knowing cloudy skies stop all, and got two out of 4. It was worth it. When I booked a full day hike to Kluane NP, the guide customized the tour to only the Two of us, giving a maximum nature experience. Thanks to Eli, Jess, Akino, Reena, Horatio, Mariko, Chisato and Kei, all of who are bi-lingual.Written 5 October 2024
- lisabY8600EW0 contributionsNice to be able to enjoy the Northern Lights in companyReally pleasant company of the tour guides during this tour, quite knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. The lights showed up during the one night I booked, soooo lucky.Written 24 September 2024
- Fearless6554890 contributionsPoor experienceThe weather forecast in the morning was for rain that evening. They took us out there, gave us some powdered hot chocolate to mix ourselves and some store bought cookies. Both the driver and lady at the site had English as their second language. They did take us to the tent and started a fire..after approximately 2 hours they told us it was going to rain all night so we’re taking us back to Whitehorse..no money returned and no promise to view the lights the next night. This was a total cash grab and a waste of our time and moneyWritten 21 September 2024
- PookyCake0 contributionsThe Quintessential Yukon ExperienceWe were in town for a few days taking in the Yukon Rendezvous Festival. While checking out the pubs and dodging the Keystone Kops is always fun, no visit to Whitehorse is complete without an aurora viewing tour. Not wanting to miss out during our limited time, we booked two nights with Arctic Range Adventures. At $149 per person, the rate is more than reasonable and the team @ Arctic Range makes sure guests get their money’s worth! The overall experience is quite fun: You are picked up at the Sternwheeler Hotel at approximately 11:20PM (a piece of cake for us since we were staying there) and driven 45 minutes outside Whitehorse, via a comfortable shuttle bus, to the Aurora Centre (used exclusively by Arctic Range Adventures). The Centre is nicely laid out: There are two heated outhouses (so you don’t have to freeze!); a comfortable yurt with seating, stove, light snacks and drinks; two teepees where you can sit, dialogue with the group and roast marshmallows; and an expansive aurora viewing area complete with tripods bolted into place for your use and enjoyment. You spend about 3 hours at the site before being bussed back to your accommodation, arriving back to Whitehorse at around 4AM. On both nights our primary guide was Pascal. He was informative and gave everybody the “lay of the land” each time. On night one, we spent most of our time in the teepee because it was mostly cloudy skies. I thought we were going to strike out but, just as everyone was getting ready to board the shuttle back to Whitehorse, the aurora made a brief – and very faint – appearance! While the green hues were subtle, we were thankful to see them! On night two, we had far better luck. Upon arrival to the Aurora Centre just after 12AM, the aurora made an appearance and stuck around for nearly an hour! It was bright and a majestic sight as it wove through the night sky! One could almost hear the ghost of Robert Service reciting his poem, “Ballad of the Northern Lights:” They rolled around with a soundless sound Like softly bruised silk; They poured into the bowl of the sky With the gentle flow of milk. Indeed, if you want a quality aurora tour, I can’t recommend Arctic Range Adventures enough. The team is professional; the Aurora Centre is comfortable; the site for viewing the Northern Lights is large enough so as to avoid the feeling of being crowded; and, if you don’t have sufficient winter gear, they have some for rent! In short, Arctic Range offers the complete package at a reasonable cost! Highly recommended!Written 24 April 2024
- billyjN119PB0 contributionsA bit of everythingLoved it. You get all activities in one package. Hot spa is a must. 4 stars: some guides were Japanese, with questionable English, although they were trying. City sightseeing - not needed, as you can do it yourself. Lots of spare time, with nothing to do. You can safely return on the fourth day.Written 23 March 2024
- pattsbett0 contributionsAmazing experience well coordinated and great service to enjoy the aurora’s dazzling showWe book the tour for 2 different days, expanding our chances to view the auroras In both occasions the service was really good, all the staff well prepared to assure we had a comfortable stay and dedicate the time to wonder at the sky, whenever the auroras could happen. They are very professional and offer a quality service, with coffee and cookies, and marshmallows to burn at the fire in the tipi tent. They also offer the rental of clothes and boots if required, at an extra charge. The service was efficient and everything at time as scheduled. We had a magnificent aurora show, awesome, all the late stay and the cold outside was definitely worth it. I recommend the company and will consider another of the tours they offer for another visit ocassion.Written 21 March 2024
- pkthatsme0 contributionsExcellent experience with Arctic RangeEvery single one of the Arctic Range staff was amazing. Super friendly, helpful, and top notch service. Literally started from when they picked us up from the airport through every single activity. Their Aurora Center is a great location to wait and watch the lights. Drinks and snacks in the cabin, roast marshmallows in the teepees, and hang out in the Yurt. While there’s no guarantee of seeing the Aurora, they always make the customer the priority. Highly recommended!Written 15 March 2024
- giovanimalindat0 contributionsRecommended tour! They provided everything we need to wait the aurora. Service was great! They also took some good pictures in their camera. Very recommended!Written 28 February 2024
- lisarimi0 contributionsExcellent tour, highly recommend. Yuri - one of the tour guides was exceptional.I booked two tours in Whitehorse to view the Aurora borealis through Arctic Range Adventures and both of them were amazing. The tour guides were very nice , kind and made sure we had the best time. There were snacks and hot beverages available and the cabins were well heated. There was also a fire pit in the Tipis where we could roast marshmallows while waiting for the lights to show up. Yuri, one of the tour guides was especially very nice and warm.. She was very knowledgeable and gave very good information on the Northern lights and other activities to do in the area.. Big shout up to Yuri for being so exceptional..Your service was very much appreciated..Keep up the good work..Written 28 February 2024
- Longrfl0 contributionsTop notch tour!Arctic Range Adventure put on the most amazing trip for us! We saw the northern lights and went dog sledding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. We were novices but it didn't matter. There was plenty of instruction and help along the way. The guides were all so wonderful and everything ran so smoothly, from being picked up at the airport, to all the events. We can't wait to go back. We loved every minute, including the wildlife park and hot springs too. Although temps dropped to well below freezing, we were fine in our good quality arctic range gear. We also really appreciate the extra effort from the Arctic staff to make bookings for events at the last minute. We truly appreciate the top notch company and tour!Written 21 February 2024
- C7162ILelisab0 contributionsbest tourIt was really special for me to have such a nice experience with Aurora Tour. the price was reasonable and it was a comfortable trip. i would like to join again in the future. thank them for this nice experience.Written 9 February 2024
- N8308ZAcarolb0 contributionsPoor service, bad communication I do Not recommendVery poor, we had a 3 night tour, they cancelled a trip to the hot springs and never notified us, so we waited and wasted the day, they took us to see the northern lights when it was snowing with no visibility to. They didn’t cancel that . This is a company that has a great deal of international non English speaking clients. For example we were on a bus w all Japanese speaking tourists, the guide Julie spoke to them and not the few of us English speakers. There are other good companies in the area, chose them.Written 30 January 2024
- V6053KKmarkj0 contributionsBest! Our guide was a very nice person. It was an experience beyond my expectations. I am very glad that I joined the tour. I want to thank themWritten 25 January 2024
- edmundod3180 contributionsYou better look for other tour operator…Arctic Range had terrible service, we have rented to them winter clothes, for more than $250cad per person, the snow boots didn’t fit for my wife, the tour guide that gave us the clothing took us to the store they rented the clothes (40% cheaper) but the store was closed for 2 of the 3 rented days, he told us we couldn't do anything… his name was Leo, the third day when we went to the store continued closed, when we had a big complain at the office, Jessica told you should let me know earlier, we did it, through the tour guide…. Between they were finger pointing one to each other…. Finally they were able to open the store for us and we changed the boots. I normally write good reviews when I received a great service, this is the first time I write a bad review, just because the bad customer service and attention I received. There are some other options to hire a tour, if I were you, I would consider those other options if you want to have a good service.Written 4 January 2024
