Fun times fat biking in the snow in QC!
I had a great time and I highly recommend this guiding company. The really have it dialed in, including being able to provide details like proper footware, snow pants, etc. When I went, the ground was snow covered but traction was not a problem. We covered a healthy distance and saw a lot of different parts of the city...much more so than one might see on a walking tour. Our guide, Luc, was very fun and had lots on interesting facts and stories to share. For me, it was a great experience. Note - the tour was not super difficult (it was mostly flat), but you need to (1) have a very basic level of fitness and (2) be comfortable riding a bike, including occasionally riding with traffic. Also, my tour was comprised of myself and one couple; it was great having a small group and we were all reasonably fit. I'm not sure what the maximum ratio of client to guide is, but it would be less fun with a larger group, especially if someone was in really poor shape.

      Highly recommend
Great experience. Emilie at Tuque & Bicycles was super friendly and helpful and the whole family (with a 15 and 17yr old) thought it was the highlight of our visit to Quebec. I highly recommend taking the ferry across to Levis and doing the bikepath loop down to the bridge and back up - the west side of the river has really beautifully landscaped viewpoints, benches and a man-made beach. We also went north to the grand marche which is a fun winding path through parks and trees. Highly recommend.

      Bike path ride
Lovely proprietor (Emily). Gave us good advice for having a meaningful bike ride. Bikes excellent. Would go back (and almost did but it rained).

      Simply the best experience
We have rented from Emilie four times over two years. And each time she was a wonder: thorough, generous, optimistic and practical. The bikes are in great condition and she takes care of them meticulously. She is full of good advice that we were happy that we took. She offered great suggestions for routes and destinations— and gave us a view of the city and the surrounding areas we would have never known without her. She knew the topography of every route— telling us when it would be uphill and when we would coast. My husband got a slight cut and she sprang into action with every kind of ointment and bandage. We fell in love with Quebec City thanks to her. We also fell in love with Emilie — such a winning person — and we are rooting for her success! The city of Quebec is lucky to have her!

      Fabulous Bike Shop!
What a great place! We rented super new electric bikes. We both had never used them before, but Emily fit our bikes perfectly and helped us understand how to operate them. She also showed us where to go -- and actually put in the maps into our phones. She took the time to talk with us as well. We had such a great time biking with these marvelous bikes, we rented them again the next day. Awesome experience -- highly recommend!

Best Way to see Quebec City
The personalized service was excellent. The process was very thorough yet streamlined. The bikes and accessories are top notch and we really enjoyed the associate sharing some bike paths catered to our likes. Perfect location to rent from with immediate access to hundreds of kms of bike paths. The price is very reasonable and the return process was explained thoroughly and went smoothly. I will definitely rent from here again as I believe it is the best way to see the city.

      E-bike exploration of la Côte-de-Beaupré
What an experience! I would rate this even higher if I could. Émilie was sooooo helpful in getting us fit for our e-bikes and suggesting some adjustments to our planned itinerary. As other reviews have mentioned, she has a warm, welcoming temperament mixed with great attention to detail. The rental cost was half of the other tour companies, the bikes were new and well-tuned, and our batteries lasted all day. At her suggestion, we first explored the St. Charles river paths and the Grand Marché, where we fueled ourselves for a full day of riding. The Marché is a gastronomic experience that shouldn't be missed, and it's super easy by bike. The food is local and high quality, and the bikes have a travel pack that make it easy to carry picnic supplies en route. We then headed to le Parc de la Chute-Montmorency where we parked our bikes (locks provided). We took the tram up, explored and descended by stairs. We then proceeded east along la Route de la Nouvelle-France. We exited the dedicated bike path at Petit-Pré and rode along Avenue Royal, which we enjoyed more as it passed through villages and shrines, along the pilgrimage route. We arrived at the Sanctuaire Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré after 30 miles (5 hours). We enjoyed our picnic in the park by the fountain, then visited the basilica and were blessed to attend Saturday evening liturgy. On our return we stayed along Avenue Royal the entire way, and the e-bike assist was welcome on the rolling hills. From the Montmorency area to the old city the riding was urban, which we are comfortable with. These are bike paths along the shoulder of the road. Our total trip was 54 miles/10 hours. Émilie was still there for the bike return, but we could have arranged after-hours drop off if needed. Émilie, merci beacoup pour notre expérience incroyable! Mark et Valeria

Highly recommend, great way to explore Quebec!
We hired the e-bikes for the day. Our first time using e-bikes and they were amazing! Emilie is fabulous - she gave a list of amazing places to cycle to - including the falls, city parks and markets. The e-bikes made it very easy to cycle the hills - definitely wouldn’t have been able to cover as much by foot in a day! Provided locks and helmets. Day rental is priced reasonably - you can’t match the price or service elsewhere in Quebec! A must do - great way to see the beautiful town and surroundings!

      Fun time in Quebec City!
This was so much fun and the highlight of my trip to Quebec City! My guide was so knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the city and it was great to learn about it while outside and exercising. After the city tour we went on a packed snow path along the Charles River and finished with a pastry and coffee at a cafe. It was a great experience that I highly recommend!

Winter Wear Rental for the Win!
My husband and I visited Quebec in December, coming from Florida. The little winter clothing we had was several decades old. Being able to rent all the outerwear (from tuque to boots) was the perfect solution. Emilie made it so easy, meeting us at our hotel on our first night to get the sizes right. We then left it at our hotel before we left. She provided high quality gear, with things like the cell phone holder that I never would have thought of. I highly recommend this service!

Tuque & Bicycle Experiences is the BEST place to rent an e-bike
You MUST rent a bike from here! Emilie is the best! Not only did she provide me with a new, great e-bike, but she gave me gloves, a neck buff, head cap, helmet, light puffy coat, water and a bag to attach to the back of my bike. Turns out I needed it all! Emilie gave me a map and showed me the way to Montmorency Falls as well as a farmer’s market on the way home. She also input all of the information on Google maps. Thank you, Emilie! You go above and beyond for your customers!!!

Excellent addition to your visit to Quebec City!
We walked by the store on Tuesday (oh look, a place to rent e-bikes!). We went back on Wednesday morning because we wanted to visit Montmorency Falls. Emilie and Pauline set us up with 2 E-Bikes, gave us some pointers for the trip, and off we went. The bikes worked great! We were impressed, never having ridden e-bikes before. After Montmorency Falls (awesome!) we biked back, then around Quebec City along the river, then up to the Plains of Abraham. These e-bikes really helped with the climb up that hill! We had a great day on these bikes, and we recommend renting from Emilie and Pauline. Pauline had some excellent restaurant recommendations as well.

Truly a fantastic bike shop. I rented one of their electric fat bikes for 3 hours and not only was it a great way to explore Quebec City but the staff was exceptional. Both Sam and Emilie were kind, generous, and caring and make you feel right at home. I wasn't wearing the proper gear and that offered to give me boots and snow pants so I would be more comfortable on my ride. They gave me recommendations on what to see on my ride and when I came back they asked if there was anything else I needed where Emilie gave fantastic advice on the city. Can't recommend this place enough!

From my first encounter with Émilie when she quickly answered my email with loads of information, I knew I’d picked the right tour company!!

As it turned out, I had three tours with Émilie’s company — fat tire bike, classic walking tour, delicious food tour — it’s actually full meals at 4 outstanding restaurants!)

All were amazing experiences with a uniqueness where all three filled me up with great information, history, humour, and insights into life in old Quebec City — life then and now! The guides were kind, generous, lovely people whom I was happy to spend multiple hours with — there was barely any overlap of information shared on my tours thanks to the guides who seemed to tailor the information to the clients!

Even before my arrival in Quebec City, Émilie and her team made me feel safe and welcomed! As a solo traveller, I knew I could count on the team at HQ Services Touristiques and Tuque and Bicycle Experiences! Émilie was only a call away!

The gear I used was excellent … from the top notch bike, the helmet had a cool visor to help shield my eyes from the wind, and the winter boots were amazingly warm — the warmest, driest boots I’ve ever worn — but I always had a change of socks!) Émilie has spent the time and money needed to put together fabulous experiences!

Two friends and I each rented fat bikes and enjoyed cycling around Old Quebec City. I also went for a longer ride along the Riviere Ste Charles which is a fantastic loop following cycling paths on each side of the river. There's numerous bridges so it's easy to choose a length of ride to match any desires. I had so much fun. I'll plan to rent a bike again the next time I come to Quebec City. The bikes were in perfect shape, no issues.

Nice couple activity! We drove quietly on the marked tracks and trails. The weather was very nice, the snow was beautiful and the bikes we rented were suitable for us. Everything was easy. A big thank you to Sam for his welcome! In addition to his smile, he was there to answer all our questions! We recommend this activity to everyone!

Worst experience I’ve had, the owner won’t stop talking/braggin. My bike was dirty and I had a flat. If I could give ZERO STAR I would. Next trip to Quebec, I will rent a bike somewhere else for sure!!

Bonjour Ju, This has been incorrectly added to my business listing. You clearly did not experience any activity with myself or any team member of our very small business known for its exceptional quality of customer service. 1 ) Our fat biking activities are only from December to March and you wrote this review in July. If I had experienced what you experienced I would have written my review way faster. 2 ) We NEVER ever had a flat since our opening in December 2020. It is impossible this was our bike. 3) Having a flat during winter on snow is almost impossible, so it just does not make sense. Booking an experience with us will never end up with a so bad review. We always reach for better, so we are open to feed back anytime, and I strongly feel we have built a team and a business based on kindness, care, safety and pleasure. We treat others like we would like to be treated. I am sorry you experienced a bad experience in Quebec City. The Québécois population are known for being heartwarming, welcoming and caring; your experience is not in our habits. Next time, rent with us. It would be a pleasure! We are launching e-bike rentals at our new location directly in the Lower Town of Old Quebec. We are now open full year round! Émilie Owner of Tuque & bicycle expériences and HQ Tourism Services
