Enjoyable and educational time with our 3 grandkids! Great interactive experiences for the kids. Meeting the experts in each area added to knowledge of our budding scientists! I even learned quite a few new things. Staff was excellent in all areas and helpful in guiding us to the different activities. Lunch at the Druxys cafe was a nice break. Lots of fun and learning too!

Loved it but as with all major museums there’s a lot to see and it can get overwhelming. The museum is beautifully curated, spacious with lovely staff everywhere ready to answer any questions

We have family membership and this year we deeply regret it - my husband and I reserved out tickets in advance and were asked to leave at the door both because of our keychains. During this unfortunate event, the security staff were rude and snarky, making us feel like criminals. I would have gladly left my keychain at home, and spared myself the humiliation, if ONLY we were notified about the new and strict security measures at the point of reserving the tickets. It is a bit late when you are already at the door and they inform you to "throw away your belongings or turn away". I hope people without membership who pay for a ticket ahead of time and travel from farther away do not get bullied this way. Our happy place to go during long winter months has just turn sour.

Auschwitz exhibition is excellent- took 2.5 hours. Take your time. Beware of automatic doors to ROM. They will crush you if you are slow. They do not sense if someone is in the doorway and will not reopen. We had to pull them away from a family member who was using a mobility device and got trapped by closing doors.

The process on entry was great. There is not much guidance but a brochure and noone super friendly and helpful. The museum itself has some artifacts of interests, and a new area around the dinosaurs, but perhaps comparing to other major cities and their museums, this is a disappointing experience. Not very interactive and not very interesting. The layout was o.k. not as crowded as other museums around the world. It's very expensive for what you get for your dollar.

The new security protocols at the entrance are so abusive, so incompetently implemented, and staffed by the surliest, most hostile people I have ever encountered in a museum. Senior ROM staff need to scrap this immediately and go back to the drawing board. I am a longtime member and will not be renewing if this continues.

The ROM is 4 levels of diverse art, history and natural displays. I found the ROM more family friendly given the natural history artifacts would be of more interest to young children. If you are are traditional art lover looking for paintings and scupltures, I found the ROM lacking.

The Royal Ontario Museum is Canada's largest museum. It makes science, art and archeology exhibits accessible and appealing. The building itself is a wonder! It is a series of prismatic shapes spilling out onto Bloor Street. Another highlight is the Hyacinth Gloria Chen Crystal Court which is a four-story atrium with aluminum bridges that connects the old and the new wings the museum.

The contents of the museum are incredible. We did find the map hard to follow because it wasn't always easy to determine where we were on the map in order to know which direction to head next. Also, from an accessibility viewpoint, there were not enough benches, particularly in the Greek/Roman/Egypt area. I have a disability and was struggling and keeping an eye out for them and they just weren't appearing. Strangely, at the entrance to the China section there was such a plethora of assorted benches and seats in such a small area that I was trying to comprehend if it was meant as a gathering place (though it didn't seem like that).

We had a lot of fun visiting the ROM! We started on the 2nd floor and loved the paleontology exhibits and the dinosaurs. Ancient Rome and Greece were a lot of fun as well.

The Royal Ontario Museum is a treasure! We took a docent guided tour led by JENNIFER which was delightful! Learned so much! Highly recommend for all ages.

It has been close to a decade since I last visited the ROM, and I wanted to see it again. On a Tuesday my Canadian colleague and I entered just as the ROM opened and after paying our admission fee we began our examination of the exhibits. As we typically do in museums, we started at the top floor and worked our way down. The third floor was devoted to Ancient Greece, Ancient Cyprus, Bronze Age Aegean, Rome, Nubia, Egypt, Byzantium, Africa, and Europe. On the second floor were exhibits on biodiversity and animals. And the first floor contained exhibits from Korea, China, and First Peoples. This is a fascinating museum; unfortunately, the quality of our visit deteriorated around 10:30 AM, when multiple classes of poorly supervised grade and high school children on field trips invaded the building. While going from the second to first floor on an obscure elevator, we were informed by a staff member that school field trips frequently occur on Tuesdays. We made our way around these loud and ill-behaved juveniles and decided to conclude our visit after two hours. As we left the ROM, we noticed a number of yellow school buses lined up on the street adjacent to the museum.

The special exhibit is extremely well done. They pack a ton of information into each area. We learnt so many interesting facts. Be sure to take the time to watch the various videos. The videos have stunning examples of cats playing, hunting, etc.

The museum is opposite our hotel Sonesta Yorkville. I've been to many museums, but ROM has to be one of the top ten, maybe in the world. In every level, in every room, and every corner is an artifact or exhibit that is world-class or, at least, rare and significant. We still had more to see when we left because Toronto is such a wonderful city for both residents and visitors.

This museum seems to be an interesting combination of a natural history museum and an art museum. It's huge; even with some areas currently closed for remodeling, it takes several hours to see everything. It must be even longer with the special, additional tickets required, exhibitions, which we did not do. We found a lot to enjoy here, but it is a very eclectic collection. We had lunch here in the café on the first floor, which was well priced and delicious. While we were eating, there was an opera singer with accompaniment in the lobby, which was very enjoyable. I would like to return when the current renovations are completed.
