Take a break from the city on a 3- to 5-hour whale-watching cruise through the beautiful Vancouver Gulf Islands. A professional naturalist accompanies you to the best sighting locations and helps you spot a variety of marine creatures. Round-trip shuttle service from downtown hotels is available for your convenience.
What to Expect

After a scenic 35-minute ride from Downtown Vancouver, arrive in the charming center of Steveston Heritage Fishing Village. Door-to-door shuttle service from your hotel is available, if the option is selected, as well as free parking for those who drive. Tours depart rain or shine, as all boats are equipped with both open decks and covered cabins. Snap photos in the serene waters of the Gulf Islands, while an expert in marine biology gives you an overview of the animals in the area.

The captain navigates to the best spots for orca sightings, and the onboard naturalist ensures you don’t miss out on seeing a variety of sea creatures, including orcas, sea lions, and porpoises. Complimentary hydrophones give you a rare opportunity to hear whale calls in real time.

Enjoy a snack on board before docking back in Steveston Village, the perfect place for a relaxing afternoon, or hop back on the shuttle to your Vancouver hotel.

Been there in Aug. 2018

The advertising pictures can be misleading; i.e. don't expect a jumping whales, and don't expect the whales to be big. They can be big and jumping. With us, whales were less than 10 ft. long, shooting water, watching from far distance. An experience I can...More

yes, the orcas that we observe on the spot are resident families, called southern residents, or transients. everything depends on nature. But they are native inhabitants of the region. Enjoy
