Athabasca River Scenic Float Trip
From US$ 55.98
Overview

Get unique views of Jasper National Park from the water on this scenic float trip. Cruise past wildlife and mountain scenery as you glide down the Athabasca River. You’ll encounter a few gentle rapids, but it’s mostly a flat, family friendly ride. Your guide handles the paddling, and tells you about the area’s history and wildlife. If you choose, purchase trip photos taken by a professional photographer.

What to Expect
Set off for the Athabasca River from the train station in central Jasper or arrange for pick up from your hotel. An afternoon of relaxing on the river is in store as you and your family sit back and let your guide do the rowing.

Learn about the human and natural history of Jasper National Park from your guide, and stay on the lookout for wildlife in their native habitat. Plastic ponchos are provided as some splashes are expected but for the most part, this is a very gentle ride that’s enjoyable for all but the very youngest babies.

At the end of the trip, you have the option to buy pictures from the professional tour photographer. Return to your point of departure in Jasper about 2.5 hours from the time you left.

Cold but enjoyable

We set off quite early as it was still cold. The raft was gentle and easy with the guide steering us along the river.More

Nice easy & scenic raft tour

Great guides - punctual, organized, lots of support at the raft launch site and at the end. Strong, young (mid 20s), competent, knowledgeable and charismatic raft guide familiar with all the twists and turns of the Athabasca falls. I can't believe he rowed the thing...More

A little Wet but not Wild!

The raft trip was a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon while being thoroughly entertained by our raft captain. We did experience the feel of the chilly water ( done on purpose ) but don"t let that stop you from having a GOOD TIME.

Don't miss this!!

Great raft float along a glacier fed river. Beautiful scenery. Don't let any of the (mini) rapids intimidate you. They're so much fun and just an excuse to get the river water on you. Our guide (sorry, forgot name but he was great) was an...More

Great tip Janice, the ends of the boat do tend to be a bit splashier but we are all about equal opportunity around here! 😉
