About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- pammieslp0 contributionsExcellent adventure in Tulum! This tour exceeded expectations in every way! Our guide, Daralya, and photographer, Alina, were kind and fun and knowledgeable about the Tulum area. While snorkeling we saw schools of Blue Tang and 5 different sea turtles as well as a stingray and other fish. The cenote was incredible! If you are afraid of bats, be warned - many make their homes in the cenotes. I find them fascinating and loved seeing them flying and sleeping. Next trip to Tulum I will absolutely book with Ocean Tours again. Highly recommend!!Written 13 February 2025
- mrslbwilliams0 contributionsAmazing Cenote and Turtle SwimGreat tour, the turtles and Cenote were the best part. The ruins are beautiful to experience with the back drop of the Caribbean Sea. Due to the number of activities and locations of each there is a lot of moving but it isn’t bad. Our guide Suly & driver Jorge were great.Written 13 February 2025
- Charlotte B0 contributionsGreat experience! Make sure you are a confident swimmer!Excellent trip from start to finish - our guide Fernando and driver Alejandro were super friendly. Fernando was enthusiastic and made us feel safe in the water. We were lucky enough to see multiple turtles during our time at Akumal and I was impressed that the guides took the animals’ welfare seriously (i.e. making sure we weren’t crowding them and giving them enough space). Swimming in the cenote was also a fun experience. I would recommend that you are a confident swimmer for this trip as a couple on ours did not appear to be so and it seemed like a wasted experience for them.Written 11 February 2025
- Akcarlynw0 contributionsPerfect Family Experience Amazing DayWe were so impressed with this tour! It’s incredibly fun, well organized, professional safe and informative. We saw so much when snorkeling! Tons of turtles, 3 species of rays, beautiful fish in Akumal. The Cenote was absolutely unreal once in a lifetime experience. All the staff was top notch. Luisa was incredibly knowledgeable pleasant fun, and very organized. She was wonderful with my 11 year old. HIGHLY Recommend this tour and company.Written 11 February 2025
- tarawA9363DE0 contributionsAmazing Excursion of Tulum Ruins, snorkeling, Cenote and Caves!!!!!Sergio, our tour guide was sensational throughout the trip. He was enthusiastic, extremely educated and provided us with so many stories of the historical sites. It was such a pleasure to listen to and interact with. Candy was our historian at the Tulum Ruins. She knew every fact and answered questions without hesitation. So interesting. Snorkeling was a challenge to say the least due to the very choppy water. No one has control over that. The Caribbean was so beautiful as far as the colors, water temperature and seeing the view of Tulum from the boat on the ocean. The Cenote and caves were incredible! Sergio again provided us with so much history and how Cenotes were formed. We had a very detailed and relaxing tour of the inside, seeing the stalactites and stalagmites. He showed us different types and how they were formed. He really took his time and had a flashlight to show us certain highlights. The entire Cenote we visited was beyond amazing. Then we were treated with an absolutely delicious lunch of homemade tortillas and choosing our own type of filling. So authentic and so scrumptious. Also Tamarind, Hibiscus drinks and water. Then we each were provided with a shot of tequila. Sergio had a great way of making the toast. This particular tequila was so delicious. I bought a bottle for my girlfriend for her birthday. We had a wonderful tour group. Throughout the day, Sergio would ensure we had breaks when needed. He also encouraged us to stay hydrated, especially as it was a very warm day. Bottled water, bananas and snacks were also provided during the trip. We were very fortunate for lovely weather too. No rain. Sergio 2, that’s what they called him as their names were the same, was the driver and did an excellent job. I can’t say enough about Ocean Tours. This was the most outstanding excursion anyone in the group had been on, myself and my friends included. Ocean Tours is always there to answer the phone or communicate back-and-forth online promptly. The whole experience was magnificent! Thank you so much!!!!Written 11 February 2025

Gabi was an amazing guide—so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Mel took fantastic pictures, creating wonderful memories for us to take home. Arturo, our driver, added a nice touch by decorating the back of the van with our names and beautiful drawings. Gabi truly made our experience unforgettable with her great energy.”Written 11 February 2025

Ariann was so knowledgeable and a great storyteller, which kept the tour captivating. We loved the snorkeling and felt so lucky to have seen so much wildlife. Getting to swim in the cenote was a special experience as well. The professional photos were a pleasant surprise and great added benefit! Would highly recommend.Written 10 February 2025
- P4105GHjuliag0 contributionsAriann, Johnny, and Arturo gave us an incredible day in Tulum!Ariann was an excellent tour guide!! We had the best day. She was so informative and good humored. The views were beautiful, the snorkeling was so much fun and the cenote was magical. The tacos were a delicious way to finish the afternoon! Johnny took great photos and Arturo was a safe and timely driver. Would highly recommend!!Written 10 February 2025
- Dbroatch930 contributionsIncredible sights to seeBooked the excursion for my partner and I to experience swimming with the turtles. It was absolutely one of the best experiences we've ever had. Our guide Gaby was exceptional and was able to teach us several facts about the area, sea life and the cenote we got to visit. Photos of our day were provided to us at the end! I highly reccomend experiencing this day trip and would definitely book again.Written 10 February 2025

He was kind and gave a fun and funny way of important information education. I'd highly recommend him of really any job. Lovely time and memory of a lifetime. My travel partner and I had A+ time and both left reviews. Give that man a raise and praise for days please ;]Written 10 February 2025
- samanthabO533WI0 contributionsSnorkeling excursionHad such an amazing time! Our tour guide’s name was Cesar (last name salad-no joke) and he was incredible!! So knowledgeable about the land, the water, the sea turtles, and the cenote. He was so funny too! We saw quite a few sea turtles and had a professional photographer on the snorkeling excursion with us and we were able to purchase the COOLEST pictures afterwards. Thanks so much for a good time!!!!Written 10 February 2025
- V7613FQchriss0 contributionsThe Gate to a perfect JourneyThe Journey was perfect thanks to the coordinated efforts and the massive waves of positive vibes our tour guide Maryna and her two wingmen Ameth and Eduardo gave our group right from the start. The visit to the Tulum archeological site was pure magic followed by a snorkeling adventure where all the group benefited from Maryna's knowledge in diving and the marine habitat. The visit to the cenote and the caves was the cherry on the sundae and again Maryna got us the best and joyful experience with water solashes and detailed explanations about the fauna and flora of the ecosystem. I definitely recommend Maryna & team for a day to remember for life!Written 10 February 2025
- Go141531550690 contributionsPick this tour!!!I am so thankful I dug through reviews of Cenote and Snorkeling Tours to find on this one (booked through Viator). Our tour guide, Marc, and driver, Ruben, were wonderful and our tour was capped at 12 people. We were able to spend plenty of time snorkeling with the sea turtles and in the closed cenote. We never felt rushed or that we missed out on anything. The sea turtles were amazing… just munching away on the sea grass at the bottom. I really had no idea they would be that big. We also saw the coral reef, lots of fish, and a stingray hiding in the sand. The closed cenote experience was wonderful too. Again, I had no idea how clear the water was and how amazing it felt on your skin after you get out of the cenote. Their specific tour company has partnered with a family that owns a large ranch in the jungle, so there are not tons of people at the cenotes. They served homemade empanadas after as well. What a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this tour over and over. Thank you for such a fabulous excursion and memories to last a lifetime.Written 10 February 2025
- Rutepalmeiraosilva0 contributionsPerfect! We did this tour on the last day, before going back home, and i can’t think of a better way to finish this trip to México! Everything was perfect, the Contoy Island (a beautiful paradise) the snorkeling, the food, the boat ride, Isla Mujeres…everything! The tour guide, Carlos, the driver, and everybody envolved were just amazing! The places were beautiful, but all of them made the tour perfect!Written 9 February 2025

What a fun day!!! We were a bit sad because 3 people in our family got sick and couldn’t come. But the attention to service and the quality of the tour quickly got us in a happier mood. This tour was made unique and personalized by Ceasar Salad and Chicken our driver! Ceasar was knowledgeable and made sure everyone in the group- regardless of language- understood what was happening. He speaks 5 languages! The turtle snorkeling did not disappoint. Saw many turtles, stings rays, fish and a puffer!!! Snacks and water were provided throughout the day and were much appreciated! You should have a waterproof camera for the water parts of the excursion. And bring money to Tulum because after the tour you will want water, a popsicle or Gatorade immediately to cool off. Would recommend to family and friends alike!

Thank you for sharing your experience! Despite the initial disappointment, it sounds like Ceasar Salad and Chicken turned the day into something truly special. Ceasar’s multilingual skills and attentiveness clearly made the tour enjoyable for everyone. Snorkeling with turtles, stingrays, and even a pufferfish must have been incredible! Great tips about the waterproof camera and staying hydrated in Tulum. Highly recommending this to family and friends says it all—what a fantastic day! 🌟🐢

This is going to be a lengthy review because it was so amazing!!
This excursion was one of the best things my friend and I have ever done. First off, Edgar our driver handled the roads safely and kept all of our things safe. He was super kind! Our tour guide, Tomas, was extremely knowledgeable and fun. Tony took photos ($55) and they are easily the best photos I’ve ever had taken of me!
The Tulum ruins was extremely hot but they constantly reminded us to get in shade and answered any questions we had. It was very interesting!
Then, we drove to Akumal to snorkel and saw reefs, fish, sea turtles and stingray. The guides maintained safety for us and the wildlife the entire time. However, you can’t wear sunscreen here so they have rashguards you may purchase, but my bottom half got fried-nothing really could have been done to avoid that.
Finally we went to the cenote and did a cavern dive. First we had homemade tacos that were delicious. Then we went in the cave which was sick!
It was an all day adventure and so so much fun! Thank you so much for being the highlight of our trip.
Only thing I wish were different was that I brought more cash so I could tip them more! It would be nice if they had a QR code so we could tip them that way.
Overall, AMAZING!

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and glowing review! We're thrilled to hear that your Private Tulum Ruins, Turtles in Akumal, and Cenote Adventure was one of the best experiences you and your friend have had! 🌟
We're delighted that Edgar made you feel safe and comfortable on the road, and that Tomas shared his knowledge and made the day so fun. It's fantastic to know that Tony captured such memorable moments with his photography! We’ll be sure to pass along your compliments to them.
We appreciate your understanding regarding sunscreen and wildlife protection – keeping both our guests and the environment safe is a top priority for us. We’re sorry to hear about your sunburn, and we hope the rest of the adventure made up for that!
The homemade tacos and cenote dive are always a highlight, so we're glad you enjoyed those as well. Your suggestion about the QR code for tipping is fantastic, and we’ll definitely look into implementing something like that to make it easier for future guests.
Thank you again for choosing us to be part of your adventure and for sharing such wonderful feedback. We hope to welcome you back on another journey soon!
Warm regards,

We did the tour of Tulum Mayan ruins, Snorkeling with sea turtles in Akumal, and swam in a Cenote. Our tour guide was Miguel Campos, with our driver Gonzalo (Gonzo) and photographer Mati. We had such an amazing time. We chose a private tour because my wife is not as strong a swimmer, and Miguel went above and beyond to make sure she and we were comfortable in all water activities.
The Mayan ruins in Tulum were amazing and our guide Miguel had so much knowledge, took pictures of us at the prime photo spots. We had been to Chichen Itza on a previous trip so getting more depth of information with Tulum was great for us as we love learning about the history.
Then we went Akumal to snorkel in the bay where we met Mati the photographer. Miguel and Mati were again amazing and helped us spot the turtles, the starfish, the stingrays. Since it was in the bay (instead of the wide open gulf) the water was relatively calm, which helped us not get thrown about.
Finally we went to a cenote, which was almost mystical. Swimming in the cave, seeing bats in the crevices, the stalagmites and stalactites, the formations of the cenote...just breath taking. Again, Miguel had a lot of information to give us, and we asked a lot of questions (probably annoyed him with how many questions we asked)
We were so pleased with our tour, our guides and driver, lunch was great at a restaurant within walking distance of Akumal. Easily would recommend this tour, and if you are lucky enough to get Miguel Campos as your guide you're in for a treat

Dear Jason,
Thank you for sharing your incredible experience with us! We're delighted to hear that your Tulum Mayan ruins, Akumal snorkeling, and cenote tour with Miguel Campos, Gonzalo (Gonzo), and Mati was nothing short of amazing.
It's heartwarming to know that Miguel went above and beyond to ensure your wife's comfort during the water activities. The Mayan ruins in Tulum came to life with Miguel's knowledge, and we're thrilled you appreciated the depth of information, especially after visiting Chichen Itza on a previous trip.
Snorkeling in Akumal sounds like a magical experience with Mati guiding you through the bay and spotting turtles, starfish, and stingrays. The cenote adventure adds a touch of mystique, and we're glad Miguel could provide insightful information, even if it meant answering a barrage of questions.
We're so pleased that you enjoyed the tour, our guides, and the fantastic lunch at the restaurant near Akumal. Your recommendation and kind words mean the world to us, and we hope to welcome you back for another treat with Miguel Campos!
Best regards,

A beautiful experience!
From the first moment, the kindness of our guide Hamlet made us feel very comfortable.
Upon arriving at the ruins of Tulum, Hamlet told us about the history of the place with important data and images. We toured the place visiting the different ruins and a while later we went to Akumal, to swim with the turtles.
It was a beautiful and fun moment in which safety always came first and Hamlet took very responsible care of the entire group. During the activity, Leandro, the photographer, was able to capture the moment with beautiful photos that we were later able to take with us.
Finally, we went to a beautiful Cenote to swim, tour and learn about its history.
There was never a lack of laughter and kindness! That makes the experience unique.
Thank you very much Hamlet for your loving guidance, kindness, sympathy and passion for your work.
Thank you very much Leandro for your beautiful photos, kindness and sympathy.
If you want to live a good experience! You already know who to go with ;)

Estimado cliente,
¡Qué maravillosa experiencia has compartido!

This excursion was amazing, be prepared for a full day of adventure. Our tour guide and driver were Arturito and Luis. They were excellent people to spend the day with. Arturo kept everyone entertained and energized and was very transparent about where we were going, how long it would be before we would take a stop, and he was also extremely knowledgeable about the science and biology of the cenote rock formations and wildlife in the peninsula. It was great swimming through the cenote and snorkeling; we even had the lucky opportunity to see sting rays and sea turtles in during the excursion. The photographer, Diego, took some amazing photos of us during the trip and we could not help but buy them. They were too good to not have for ourselves. This day trip was easily the best day we had on our trip to Cancun and we felt like we got a high quality experience that was at an affordable price point.

Wow! What a great day! We had Chicken Cesar Salad (inside joke 😉) taking us around on our super awesome adventure. We started at the ruins in Tulum. The walk was refreshing, but if you have mobility issues, it is a long walk to the ruins and there are few places rest in the shade without clogging up the process of moving through the site. There is a shuttle service to the ruins for a fee. I don't know how much it is as we walked. Inside the site the guide will bring you though the site at a reasonable pace. Including the walk approx. 1 hr total.
Cesar always made sure there was time to have a pit stop and a chance to shop, between all of our locations, supporting the local shops. Always knowing where to link up when it was time to move was clearly passed on in several languages. Hail Cesar!!
Swimming with the turtles was awesome. We got the pleasure of seeing several turtles eating their grass and surfacing right in front of us. The current was gentle enough to just float above them and follow as they grazed. All is good, they give you life jackets and have people in the water with you and dudes on kayaks keeping watch. Truly amazing.
Off to the Cenote for some amazing views of the natural beauty earth has to show us, with maybe a little reflection on time and the history that is tied to these amazing structures. Bring a waterproof flashlight you will see considerably more since we only had one, it's dark in there ya know!
After the swim in the Cenote was done, we headed up for some homemade tacos. These are gluten free hand made delicious corn tortilla tacos! It was the perfect end to a great day in Mexico!
Thank you Cesar and Chicken for a great day and making us part of your salad. Croutons, out.

Hi jeff,
Wow, what an amazing and detailed review—thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us! 🌟 It sounds like you had an incredible day filled with history, nature, and a sprinkle of humor thanks to César (a.k.a. Chicken César Salad 😉). He’s going to love reading about how much you enjoyed his guidance and care throughout the tour!
We’re thrilled you got to see the turtles up close in their natural habitat and that the cenote offered a magical and reflective experience. Your tip about the waterproof flashlight is spot-on—great advice for future adventurers!
And those handmade tacos—aren’t they the perfect way to wrap up a day like that? We’re so glad you enjoyed them!
Thank you for being part of César’s "salad" and for the laughs in your review. We’d love to welcome you back for more fun and unforgettable experiences in Mexico.
Best regards,

It was a really well organised trip with an excellent guide - Nic! Nic was super informative the whole time and made the experience really personal. Our group was half French and half English, so he had to explain everything twice! This never seemed a problem, and he was always happy to answer questions. Genuinely the best tour guide I’ve had during a holiday activity.
Tulum was really cool, but very hot and open, and you can’t take plastic water bottles in with you. You can take flasks if you have them.
The turtle experience was amazing in warm waters where you got really close to the turtles! You cannot apply sun cream in between Tulum and the Turtles so make sure you put plenty on before Tulum.
Visiting the Cenotes really was a cool experience. The water is cold and refreshing, but not too cold. Again, Nic swam us through the caves and explained a lot about what we were seeing and how they were formed. We then had authentic Mexican tacos in the middle of the jungle - so cool!
Next time I’m on holiday, I will definitely look for Ocean Tours to plan my next trip. Every detail was thought about. On a side note, we were sick on the original day, and the team in the hotel were really friendly and moved us to a different day.
Tulum was really cool, but very hot and open, and you can’t take plastic water bottles in with you. You can take flasks if you have them.

This was our first excursion for our trip out of many and honestly, it was so memorable. Pepe, Chucho And Fernando We’re amazing. We got some lovely photos to commemorate those memories. Pepe payed close attention to our son who was extremely eager to be in the water and we really enjoyed that. We felt safe the entire time he was also very humorous, personable and welcoming. Our group was fairly small which we also appreciated. The refreshments were definitely a highlight, especially the hot sauces. We would definitely recommend this activity to anyone with or without children. Thank you again Pepe and team y’all were amazing.

Wow wow wow. Everything was so cool, the tulum ruins are such a neat thing to see and the beach views were impeccable. Snorkeling with turtles was a once in a life time experience and I wish I could have stayed all day. Cenote was also super cool to see. Water was beautiful and thankfully even with my cave fear Enrique had me laughing the whole time. 10/10 recommend requesting Enrique as your tour guide, he even knew my mean girls and master of disguise quotes 😉
Thank you for an amazing day

Francisco and his group were amazing guides! They made sure to explain every place we visited indepth, giving great history and context. They also explained each area before we arrived, so we knew what to expect before hand and how to interact with the locals. They also made sure we had time to take plenty of pictures and enjoy each location. Lunch was amazing tacos and snacks were provided in between rides. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.
