- LindaW54x0 contributionsA must-do in MexicoGreat pace, great guide, and great experiences! A day full of discoveries and unforgettable moments. Our first stop was Tlatelolco, a place where Mexico’s rich and complex history converges. Standing in the Plaza of Three Cultures, we could see the blend of three different eras—ancient Aztec ruins, a Spanish colonial church, and modern Mexican buildings. Learning about the tragic events of the Tlatelolco Massacre and the significance of this site was a deeply moving experience. It’s a must-visit to truly understand the layers of history that have shaped Mexico.Written 28 February 2025
- RoyC46240 contributionsEverything was perfectly organizedDepatalarga Tours did an amazing job! The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and made history come alive. - Ruth Z0 contributionsGreat tour worth the dayVery organized day with a comfortable ride and a great tour guide, Alan. History and pictures of what the area used to be with attention given to the Church buildings sinkingWritten 25 February 2025
- Stay5840220 contributionsDisappointingDisappointing overall. Our guide had a very soft voice and couldn’t be heard, specially at the the back of the van. He absolutely needed a microphone system. The stop at the 3 cultures was to include the Church of Santiago. That was skipped without explanation. The guide provided very little detail on the construction of the pyramids. We had to ask many questions privately and learned interesting details which should have been shared with the other passengers. We were to climb the Tepeyac Hill where the Virgin Mary appeared … that was omitted; we were to see the original poncho mantle…that was omitted, all without any explanation. Some passengers were disappointed as there was no time allotted for prayer, as mentioned in the tour description, specially since the visit took place during the Eucharist, which is the most important part of the mass.Written 14 February 2025
- Mike_from_Vic0 contributionsGreat tour to see top sitesOur tour guide Juan was excellent- very knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions about the sites we visited. I would recommend this full day tour to any visitor to Mexico City.Written 6 January 2025
- X438MXmk0 contributionsExpert guide. Great valueMARYLYNN United States of America Marylynn from Michigan, USA. This was our favorite side trip because our guide was VERY knowledgeable and gave us a great historical & world & local perspective on the 2 places. ... A clean & A/C equipped personal van with small group (6 or 8) picked us up at a hotel that was convenient to where we stayed. Our guide, Miguel, was so helpful. His insight into the history, philosophy & anthropology of the sites, and to general state of Mexico issues & history, was great!. He was able to explain all with great inside stories and some fun facts thrown in! And he was an excellent driver through city streets & out of town highways. Answered questions all along the way, in both English & Spanish. MUCHOS GRACIAS MIGUEL.Written 14 November 2024
- kitn920 contributionsFantastic Tour!I highly recommend this tour. I was well taken care of. The boss dePatel called me to make sure I got on and the tour guide was excellent. The tour itself was well worth it and it was paced slow enough to soak it all in but not too slow. In white and I didnt wear sunscreen and my skin was like just perfectly touched by the sun if that makes sense.highly recommend this tour.Written 5 October 2024

- gabrielcC2703ZQ0 contributionsFailure by tour manager/bookerI wouldn't book through Depatalarga Tours site again. This is a big failure by whoever is running this I booked a tour to go to the pyramids. Instead, the tour van they sent to pick me up was for a completely different itinerary. I arrived at the pick-up point on time. I even called them on the phone and asked if they're still picking me up for the *pyramid tour*, and he said yes they were just running a little late. The tour first went to a couple of stadiums that no one cared about, we stopped at a jewelry store (why?), and Xochimilco. A whole day wasted, and no pyramids. I suspect the tour broker or manager confused my booking for another tour. If you're booking through Depatalarga Tours, I don't recommend it:Written 4 May 2024
- 723eranl0 contributionsThe pyramids are awesome, the other two stops are a waste of timeThe pyramids are awesome, and the ruins around them are even more interesting in my mind. I would choose a tour that goes only to the pyramids, the other two stops are not that interesting and just make it a very long day.Written 8 February 2024

We had a marvelous day with Miguel as our guide on his Teotihuacan Experience tour!
Not only is his historical knowledge of the Teotihuacan area deep and impressive, but he provided very special cultural experiences throughout the day—all peppered with fascinating tidbits of information we would have never learned on our own.
Miguel filled our tour with unique surprises. First, it was highlighting the magically colorful homes and sky trams of Ecatepec on our drive to Teotihuacan. Then he brought us to the Artesanias El Quetzal for an education on agave, obsidian, and tequilas by area artisans. And best was Miguel’s arrangement of a fabulously delicious authentic homemade lunch with a lovely family who opened their home to us in the charming town of San Juan Teotihuacan—complete with pulque fresh from the local source. All of these experiences were forever memorable!
As we toured the Teotihuacan Pyramids, Miguel was extremely knowledgeable, shared many obscure facts—and even humorously quizzed us. His guidance revealed the inspiring mysteries of this ancient site and we left filled with awe!
Though we didn’t have time to visit Diego Rivera’s Teotihuacan home due to our flight schedule, Miguel made it a point to talk about things we might have learned—including the secret to Diego’s red paint.
Miguel is very friendly, kind, and fun, and we ended as fast-friends. He will always be our go-to tour guide when we visit Mexico City and we highly recommend his Teotihuacan Experience tour!

Our guide, Miguel was very knowledgeable (Masters in history) about the pyramids and the history surrounding the ancient cultures of Mexico. The tour included pick up and drop off as well as lunch at a local family’s house.
The food was ok and there was plenty if you wanted seconds. The ladies were very kind and I am 100% supportive of this kind of tourism.
I would rather support a local family than a mediocre restaurant where they’re paying a kickback to a guide for the business and they don’t really care about the tourists and only see dollar signs. You could tell that the ladies cooked with love and care.
Miguel was also flexible in the drop off. Rather than taking me back to the pickup spot, which is a 30 minute walk from my apartment, he dropped me off at a metro station, which made my trip home very short.
Thanks Miguel!

What an incredible day we had during our private tour at Teotihuacan. Miguel did an excellent job to explain historic context, including detail behind where the ancient city came from, and how its legacy lives on today in Mexico City.
This is Miguel's academic field of study, so the tour was more informative than I imagine a basic tourist experience would provide.
Highlights included the DELICIOUS meal inside the home of a local family, as well as a rare glimpse at some of Diego Rivera's work/studio nearby.
Thank you so much Miguel!!

Miguel was fantastic! We booked him from a recommendation of a friend for half day pyramids tour and home cooked meal. Miguel picked us up at the hotel in CDMX and was very knowledgeable about the ruins. We learned a lot and also had a comfortable car with A/C and water bottles. Miguel is friendly, fun and shared so much history. He also offered lots of advice for the rest of our trip in CDMX too - clearly loves his home town and sharing it with visitors! We had a delicious home cooked meal from Paulette and Erica - they were so generous with their food and hospitality. The chicken mole, guacamole, quesadillas, and dessert were all amazing. I would highly recommend Miguel and this tour to anyone looking for an authentic experience.

Miguel was a fantastic guide. We spent two days with him learning about the history, culture and of course food of Mexico. Our first day was spent learning about Coayacan and visiting the Frida Kahlo museum. The second day we went to Titiohuacan where we saw the pyramids and ate an incredible meal at the home of Erica. It was a wonderful and delicious experience.

This was one of the most unique experiences of my trip to Mexico! Instead of just visiting the Teotihuacán pyramids, we got to enjoy a home-cooked meal in a local house, which made the day even more special. Clara was a wonderful host, she welcomed us warmly and explained every dish with so much passion. The food was absolutely delicious! We got to try homemade salsas, fresh tortillas, and traditional Mexican dishes that I wouldn’t have found in a restaurant.
