Best Bike Tour Group Of Them All!
Hands down one of our favorite activities we did in Mexico City! We lucked out by booking the "Mexico is More Than Tacos" tour on a Sunday when they shut down the Paseo de la Reforma until mid-afternoon to allow for bike & foot traffic only & the whole city seemed to be out for all the fun festivities - yoga, dancing, parade, food, etc! It was awesome! Now, my husband & I had not been on a bike in 10+ years &, despite being a little nervous ahead of time, we had no issue with the 8 mile tour. The majority of the ride was on flat-paved tree-lined streets & there are lots of stops along the way. It was the BEST way to see the different neighborhoods & several key highlights of the city. Our guide, Mario, was absolutely fantastic - super personable & informative! Highly recommend requesting him. If you are trying to decide which tour group to go with let me assure you why this is the best one (aside from the fact that we had a great time!) ...there were lots of similar groups out at the same time as us, however, the were huge - anywhere from 10-20 bikers. We were a group of 4 with Mario. Food Hood keeps their tours small & intimate making it easier to navigate the city & interact with your tour guide & each other. Lastly, we were absolutely STUFFED by the end of the tour so definitely arrive hungry. Also, be prepared for the best Michelada of your life. Cheers!

Fun, Friends old and new, food and bicycles! One great ride, many great times and endless memories!
What a ride!!! My guest and I visited CDMX, neither of us have ever been there. She is a national and I am a gringa living in Jalisco. This bike and food tour was the best way to begin our four day visit. There were a total of four of us so it was easy to follow and hear our guide Raul. My guest was at first nervous at the idea of cycling through the busy city but Raul took such great care of us that immediately she relaxed and all of us were thrilled. We must have had at least five different tasty treats along our way through four neighborhoods with stops for cultural and historical chats along the way. I cant recommend this tour with Raul enough especially at the start of your trip. Beginning with this will wipe away the cobwebs and get your motor running after being sedentary on flights and travel, will give you a great overview of the areas you will no doubt be visiting later and eliminate any resistance to diving in to local food establishments and street vendors. Also some extra tips from an overprotective mama type…wear the helmet provided, tip your guide and leave a review to serve the industrious and knowledgeable entrepreneurs of this tour company. Oh and enjoy the great fun!

Great tour and fantastic guide; Raul
I did the 5h street food bike tour today and it was absolutely fantastic. Much more interesting than just going around seeing the tourist sites. I had an absolutely amazing guide; Raul. Would definitely recommend this tour and would also recommend doing it at the beginning of your stay in CDMX; so that you can benefit from all the places you visit on the tour during your stay. Lots of places we visited I would love to go back to.

      Street food extravaganza
I absolutely loved everything about this tour. The guides were so energetic and enthusiastic. The food was fantastic. I tasted all the Mexican food I had only heard about and it was made fresh by street vendors which is my favourite way to eat. Plus I got to see the lovely neighbourhoods of Condesa and Roma Norte. Highly recommend.

      Our fav Mexico City Experience
The FoodHood tour in Mexico City was much more than just food. Fernando and Mario spent the entire day with us until 3 pm, showcasing the city and sharing their culture. They were incredibly authentic and easy to chat with. Everyone in our group, from our 10 and 12-year-old boys to my 75-year-old in-laws, enjoyed our time together. I was initially worried about biking with kids and grandparents, but since we did the tour on a Sunday, most of the day was peaceful. It did get a bit busier as the day progressed. This day was, by far, our favorite in Mexico City; it perfectly combined activity, learning, and food

The best way to see Mexico City
This bike tour was a great way of seeing some lovely areas in Mexico City and trying some very well chosen food. Really well organised and the 2 brothers who were our guides were fantastic, looked after us so well and were very conscious of our safety on the roads. Highly recommend!

I've taken a ton of tours all over the planet and this might be my favorite. The Foodhoodmx team was professional, friendly, informative, fun, cool to hang out with, and on and on. We got tons of food and drinks. We saw so many places and learned so much. The price is a bargain for the experience. Highly recommended!!!

      Best tour around!
Food hood tour was probably the best we have ever been on. The guides were warm, friendly, and were so kind and accommodating to my children. Come hungry because you will be exposed to the best local cuisine the city has to offer and several local neighborhoods in a relaxing pace on comfortable bikes. Thank you Fernando, Paxi, and Raul ❤️

      Best Tour to Experience CDMX
I took the Mexico is more than Tacos tour on a week day in August 2023 and would recommend it to anyone visiting CDMX. I contacted the owner about the tour a couple of weeks prior and he was very responsive. I met him the day of the visit and he gave me recommendations after the tour as well, so this was definitely a tremendous resource for my CDMX travels. My tour was with Raúl and he was kind, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The tour itself was perfect. We rode about 15 km, stopping about every hour for food (every stop was unique with savory food, sweet treats, and drinks) and a few more times to learn lots of cool info about the city, its history and lifestyle. The circuit itself was great: we started in hip Condesa and Roma but also went through some more popular neighborhoods around Medellín, and ended up riding our bikes through beautiful and lush Bosque de Chapultepec. I took this tour on my first full day in CDMX and it really helped me know my way around (both in Metro and bike) for the rest of my stay. Raúl is a super fan of his hometown and it was a pleasure discovering it with him!

My time with Raúl in Mexico City was simply awesome. Raúl's love for this city shines through in his stories about its history and what's happening today in this vibrant place.

Cycling around was a breeze, super chill, and an awesome way to get into the city's groove. Riding along the streets, I felt like I was really part of the city, soaking in all its sights and sounds in a cool, unique way.

I'd totally recommend this to anyone who wants to do more than just try amazing food. It's like a learning journey with a super-knowledgeable buddy who's also super excited to answer all your questions.

Huge thanks to Raúl and Food Hood for this experience!

After I had already done the classic Street Food Bike Tour and was very impressed, I now did the "Off the Beaten Track" tour and loved it! My highlight, besides the delicious food, was the beautiful kiosk in Santa Maria La Ribera and of course Raúl's passionate and entertaining way of explaining everything to us. 100% recommendation!
