Overview
Get outta town! Go beyond the usual tourist bus experience on this tour that will literally take you out of Mexico City to see Teotihuacan pyramids, try local "delights" like cactus candy, sip on ancient pre-Hispanic brews, and dine at a local family home where you'll enjoy authentic dishes made and served by them. The best part: you’ll be supporting local family businesses, to really give you an itinerary worth bragging about.
Highlights
  • Go with a guide: Avoid the stress of navigating on your own
  • Panoramic views of the highlands from the top of the Sun Pyramid
  • Eat with a local family—an experience rarely available to tourists
  • Small group of 12 or fewer ensures an intimate, personal experience
What to Expect
Avoid the stress of navigating public transit on your own by meeting your guide at a centrally located metro station in Mexico City. On arrival at Teotihuacan, begin your walk through the ancient “City of the Gods.” On this small-group tour capped at 12 people, you’ll avoid the large crowds that gather for museum-run tours. Listen to speculation on the mystery of who could have built the massive structures and then climb the Sun Pyramid for panoramic views of the Mexican Highlands. After the tour, follow your guide to a neighboring town for a taste of pulque, an alcoholic beverage sacred to the Aztecs. From there, experience a side of Mexico rarely available to tourists at the home of a local family, where you sit down for a homemade meal in good company. After dinner, join the guide on public transit for an easy trip back to Mexico City.

Our guide was Julio who was friendly, knowledgeable and has a real passion for showcasing Mexico to people from around the world. The temples were awe inspiring and the local home visits a great experience.

We had a wonderful tour with Warryor (Ulysses). His knowledge and the few little extra side shows is what made our experience more memorable. He spoke fluent English and answered plenty of our questions. The family dinner was very tasty in a lovely setting. We...More

Sorry. We had a Taquito's and Lentil soup. The meal is whatever they happen to be cooking that day. There are no options.

Yes, there is a vegetarian and a vegan option. Both delicious! In our experience, the guide asked at the beginning of our experience.
