Capt. Ryan Granger was amazing! He was so fun and had so much knowledge on the islands and took us to all the best snorkeling spots and of course the taco bar! It was such a great day! Would recommend Island Roots Charter to all!!

Jason took my wife and I around St. John for an awesome boat ride, showing us so many cool spots to snorkel that we would’ve never found if we didn’t book with Island Roots. He was kind and super knowledgeable, he consistently defogged our goggles and fixed some other issues I was having with my gear. Perfect way to finish up our honeymoon. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to book with Island Roots again.

We did both the BVI and USVI, it was absolutely beautiful. Very customizable, which will be so helpful for our next visit to islands. Captain Ryan was a trooper, he put up with my group for 2 days straight.

Island Roots charters is the best local STJ charter. All of the boat captains are friendly, fun, engaging, knowledgeable and people person! Great with kids too! They help you plan the best day of your vacation from start to finish! You can chose one of their suggestions or customize it your own plans! We have made lifelong friends on day trips to the BVI! If you have four couples, it works out to be about the same price as one of the other larger 40 person boats! Personally, we enjoy the day on our schedule! You will have your best day of your vacation like we did!

We loved Captain Ryan- we did the extended day and enjoyed every second. Some of the best snorkeling I have ever experienced and Captain Ryan was very informative of the islands rich history and places to go and see!

The private charter around St. John was the highlight of our trip! Amazing sights and snorkeling while expertly avoiding any weather in the area. We will be back and we will do multiple excursions!

Sorry its taken a few weeks to send this in. Once again, Island Roots did not disappoint. We had a wonderful day visiting the BVI's, Snorkeling, Willy T's for lunch and lots of fun and sun! This was our 5th time with Island Roots. Boat Captain Ryan is the best!! Can't wait for next year!

We absolutely loved our golden hours cruise with Island Roots! It was one of the main highlights of our trip! It was so special to have that time together just our family on the boat vs multiple groups. It was so nice to have the flexibility to do what was most fun for our three kids ages 9, 7, 5. We loved the first snorkeling spot with all the coral and colorful fish. We would have never found or thought of that location without Jason and we were looking into a lot of snorkeling spots. The snorkel equipment was so high quality and made it such a nice experience. Jason was amazing with our kids and so helpful getting us on and off the boat for snorkeling. We loved getting dinner at pizza pi. The pizza was so good and felt so special doing that by boat. We also loved snorkeling to see the sunken sailboat too. So many great highlights all in a few hours! Thank you Jason for making it such a special, fun experience! Will definitely recommend to all our friends who want to visit now too!

Another great day with Island Roots! This time we went out with Ryan Granger. Our group: two families, one with adult children (5 experienced snorkelers) and one with middle school twin boys (they and their dads all newbie snorkelers). Captain Ryan quizzed us on where we wanted to go and gauged the day beautifully, switching up destinations based on our interest, timing & weather. Can't say enough good things about this day or our first one with Island Roots in Sept. 2021. They're our go-to private charter. We'll be back!

We had a terrific day with Captain Max! He was so knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. We got to see so much and rode in comfort the whole day!

The golden hours tour with captain nick was the highlight of our trip! We went to two snorkel spots and saw tons of fish and starfish. We were even able to snag a last minute pizza from the pizza pi boat!! Would definitely be using island root charters and captain nick on our next trip!

We spent a day on the water (BVI Full Day) with Andrew and we were having so much fun we ended up extending our day to include Virgin Gorda. We specifically chose Island Roots because of the reviews and type of boats they use for charters--the boat itself is super comfortable with seating for everyone, but also handles the big water so nicely. We were just a family of four, but a larger group would be equally comfortable. It might be hard to imagine spending 9 hours on the water, but the day flew by! I also appreciated that Andrew was always keeping an eye on us, especially with new-ish snorkelers in our group who embraced some challenging swims and haven't stopped talking about our trip since we returned home. I also had a billing question when we returned and the IR team was very quick and professional in their response--they really have perfected the experience from booking to the dock. If you're at all hesitant, just book it!

Great trip and on the water experience with Island Roots Charters and Captain Jason (Owner). Our family had an amazing day filled with stunning views and water excursions, secluded remote beaches, snorkeling and cliff jumping! Captain Andrew was awesome! He did a great job making the day fit the needs of everyone in our group. It truly was a highlight of our trip! We snorkeled, saw sea turtles, and had lunch at Lime Out which was delicious! Highly recommend if you are visiting St John!
