Great driver 'shampoo' picked us up took us to Cane beach, gave us a history tour and showed us points if interest, picked up on time, took us to the old rum factory and toured us back to the ship. Clean well running vehicle, great booking.

Beautiful island! Wanted to go to Cane Garden Bay beach, so booked this tour. When we met driver, kindest man ever!, he told us he had 7 others going to Smuggler's Cove beach and asked if we would change our destination, as to not have to go to two places. We agreed and it did not disappoint. Although I was in the back of the bus and couldn't hear the "island tour" by our driver, one of the other passengers relayed the info. It was really cool to get some history about the island. Drive was about 30+ mins, at end was very windy and felt like we were in the jungle. We were waiting for the Jurassic Park dinosaurs to pop out LOL! Instead, just got a few random ferrel chickens. Once at the beach, he helped us navigate the rentals (bring extra money ($35 USD) for 2 beach chairs/table/umbrella, and of course for the bar. Make sure to try the Bushwhacker! He had us back our cruse ship with plenty of time to wander around the port. Was a great experience and we definitely would do it again!

This was a fantastic trip with our brilliant guide Shampoo. He was there on time at the meeting point to collect us. He gave us some interesting information about Tortola on our way to the beach at Cane Garden Bay. We had 3 hours on the beach when we arrived and enjoyed the sun beds and some great rum punch whilst there both st additional cost. Yes the beach is busy but it’s the best beach in Tortola so to be expected. I would certainly recommend this tour as a sure way to get to the beach and back and learn something about Tortola and is history in an air conditioned bus on the way.

The company who handled this excursion for us changed our excursion time from 9:10 AM to 10:45 AM with the explanation that another cruise line had priority over the one that we were on. We were told that it was a three hour duration for this excursion but nowhere in the description did it state it would take about 40 minutes to get to the beach and 40 minutes to get back to the ship so it only left us one and a half hours to spend at the beach. Then to top it all off, they charged us $25 for two beach chairs with an umbrella for only an hour and a half. I tried to move to another seating area that did not cost so much but they stated there was no other seating so I had to pay the $25. The water was great. The beach was nice, but I would never do this excursion again

We had an absolutely AWESOME time on this excursion! It was definitely one of the best we’ve ever taken, regardless of price. Shampoo was a great driver, and also had lots of knowledge about the island and places on the island. he also catered to a few requests from our group, and we stopped at a distillery, as well as a bar high upon a mountain, and a great restaurant on the way back. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody that is interested in an island tour of Tortola. We had a great time, I’m sure you will too!

We booked this tour on Trip Advisor as the Shore Excursions to beaches on Tortola were sold out on our Cruise ship. As it turned out we were really glad that we did! We received an email the night before the tour reconfirming and letting us know where and when we would be met. Our driver, Shampoo, was waiting for us when we disembarked from the ship. He negotiated the winding mountain road expertly, stopping to take a few pictures for us. He also told us all about Tortola’s history and its people. The beach was beautiful. Great views out toward the sea. The water was cool, refreshing, and crystal clear. No waves and no rocks at the bottom. Two lounges and umbrella rented for $25. Alex set us up and served us when we requested drinks and a snack. Prices were very reasonable. Shampoo was there when promised to take us back to the ship. We can’t say enough good things about him. He was so friendly and you can tell he loves Tortola. He asked us our impressions of the island and wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our visit. We highly recommend this company and this tour!

Views were beautiful! Private transfers got us there nice and early to pick the prime spot on the beach! Picked us up on time to return to the ship!

Excellent tour was taken directly to cane garden Beach. Information provide on the way there. Was given a pick up time and the driver was there on time. Excellent driver who exercise precautions when driving in mountain curvy roads. Beautiful beach. Restrooms, bars and food available.

I’ve been to Cane Garden Bay several times and it’s my favorite beach in Tortola. BUT…as you can tell from some of the other reviews here, it has its challenges. If there is a storm due in the next day or so, don’t bother. The beach is narrow, the chairs and umbrellas have seen better days, and if the waves are rough they will come right up over your chairs unless you’re in the back 2 rows. When the water is peaceful, it’s gorgeous—there is no drop-off as you enter the water and it’s not rocky. Great way to spend the day—bring a float if you have one. The drinks are good and reasonable—never tried the food. The locals in charge of renting the beach chaises and umbrellas are disorganized and the experience will vary according to who you get—as will the prices! Just know you’d best go with the flow and don’t stress out over it.

Enjoyed the personalized tour of Tortola very much. We were taken to Long Beach which was just what we were looking for even though we did not know what we were looking for.

Smooth pick up and drop off, on time, Shampoo was our driver and he was great, the beach was lovely, we had a great time

Vincent was outstanding! He was delightful and prompt. He took us to a great spot and was right on time to pick us up. Highly recommended!

The beach was breathtaking however getting there was extremely poor and we were cheated out of an hour on the beach as a 4 hour experience turned into only 3 hours. We were told once we exited the ship to look for a sign that said Payne’s tour and taxi. We were told to be there at 8 am. We arrived early at 7:30 so we expected to have to wait a half hour that was our choice. We asked at information where the company usually stood and we’re told in the middle section of the pier so that’s were we stood. When no one showed at 8 then 8:15 we walked around asking several tour people and were told 3 different meeting places. By now it’s 8:30 we are sweating profusely and no taxi. Finally one of the taxi drivers called Payne’s asking where they were and the driver said I’m not supposed to be there until 9am. By now another family who was also going said we were told 8am. He finally shows up at 9 and says the dispatcher told him the wrong time. Hold on when the other drivers called at 8:15 and 8:30 saying there are customers waiting and you don’t show up until 9 that is poor service. You come as soon as there are people waiting and make sure you have the time right. Even if the tour started at 9 you should be parked and ready to go by 8:30. The drive did apologize was was there on time to pick us up at the beach. Can’t recommend taxi service. We did go to cane garden beach we’re you could rent beach chairs and umbrellas and there were several restaurants to eat at and you could rent paddle boards. The water was beautiful.

Our driver, Shampoo, was waiting for us at the end of the dock when we got off the ship for our trip to the beach, gave us some info about the island on the way over and took a different route on the way back to the ship so we could see more of the island (we had plenty of time). Zero stress.

We had an amazing morning with Ralph (Shampoo) and Amos. We had an early day from our cruise stop on Tortola and really was not sure what to expect but oh what a joy it was to ride around and explore the island with Shampoo and Amos. They gave us a wonderful tour and plenty of time on the beach to relax and enjoy the sites! Very nice and accommodating!
