- joib7900 contributionsGreat experience with a friendly tour guideI booked this excursion at the last minute, and I am so glad I did. I really wasn’t looking forward to it at first because I wanted to do something different which wasn’t available. The company was very accommodating and they picked me up at my location of choice. I had a private tour of the island. My tour guide was so nice, laid back and accommodating. He catered the tour to my interests and was very attentive. On our hike, he was knowledgeable about the plants, wildlife and history of the island. We went to a beautiful beach where he hung around but out of site for the hour we were there. Since I wanted to stay a little longer, he adjusted the tour to accommodate me. We ended with a great lunch, which was included. I would definitely recommend this tour!Written 6 January 2025
- 998kristiv0 contributionsAmazing Guide and Views! We hiked to the Bat Cave and drove to the 360 view spot. Our guide, Kahliim, was so knowledgeable about the local history and nature. The hike and the views were so beautiful! Our ages ranged from 50 to 15 and we all agreed it was the best excursion we’d been on. Kahliim pointed us in the direction of some good local food and shopping after the trip. He definitely made the trip stand out as our favorite.Written 4 January 2025

We had great information along the way and awesome pics and views. We finished up with fruit and drink for refreshments at the "Bat Cave" overlooking the ocean.I definitely will be going again and will recommend to anyone who wants to see a bit more of the BVI and likes a bit of adventure.Truly one of the best services available on island.Written 28 September 2024

- Ilovedlphns0 contributionsViews for milesBeautiful views from the top! Hiked to Mount Alma - last 15 minutes of hike was a rocky climb but was so fun. Seph was an awesome guide and made sure I knew where to step and offered help where needed. Will definitely do this again if I am ever back in BVI.Written 18 August 2024
- Colette A0 contributionsBest of the BVIThis was a very enjoyable and educational hike in every way possible. Our guides, Sef and Khaleem were knowledgeable, fun and entertaining. Though it was a bit challenging navigating the rocks they ensured the safety of our group and provided frequent instructions to best traverse the trail. At the end we were provided with a much welcomed lemongrass infused cold washcloth to cool down! Local beverage, fruit samplings and engaging conversation capped the experience! Our group had a wide range of ages and abilities and everyone successfully completed the trail so I highly recommended this awesome hike for the entire family.Written 7 August 2024

- kimberlybR462QS0 contributionsBeautiful hike, great exercise and learned a lot about local plants and animals! This company was recommended by a friend who lives on Tortola, and I’m so glad that he did! I ended up going on 3 hikes with Kaleem as my guide, the Shark Bay tour; the Sage National Park tour and the Pineapple farm. Sef, the owner, communicated very well with me via text message and added me to the tour at the last minute. Really appreciate all the local knowledge about native plants and habitat. The hikes were challenging and led to some really beautiful places. Highly recommended! I’ll take more of the hikes the next time that I’m on island.Written 8 April 2024
- stevethecontrac2r0 contributionsGreat outdoor adventure in Tortola to the Bat caveOur Guide, kalene??? Something like that. We are old, hearing not the best.lol Nice guy. 6'4 Was early for pickup. Very informative on history and things along the hike. We are 60s and most of the hike was easy for us. A few places required some technical climbing up boulders and such but we were fine. Good workout! Had us back in a timely manner Would not hesitate to go with this company againWritten 23 March 2024

Our Tortola Nature Hike tour was an excellent, informative hike with our guide Kahliim. He was confident, knowledgeable and sociable during the entire hike. He especially interacted well with our kids and made special effort to include them and their interests, taking extra time to enjoy Crayfish hunting at the stream. The hike was not strenuous but did include some steep, but short, traverse sections.
The time frame fit well for our kids and wasn't long enough to lose their attention and enjoyment. The value was acceptable, though more serious adventurers may find it a bit on the short side.

Fantastic tour with island local, Sef. He provided lots of information on the forest hike- history, plant life, survival skills, and more! Sef added many personal touches - stories of growing up on the island, delicious fruit snacks, and a strong hand to hold while crossing over rocks and climbing inclines. Sef even took pictures along the hike that he shared with us - a special extra for our anniversary celebration!!
A VERY NICE and genuine young man. We enjoyed the perfectly challenging hike through the Mt Healthy Park and the company of our new friend, Sef!
When sharing our experience with friends on the cruise ship, our excursion with Sef exceeded all that they had booked with the cruise. Our experience in Tortola was exceptional! Thank you!

We came in on a Cruise Ship to Tortola - Road Town. My 25 year old son and myself had booked a tour through Sef at Hike BVI. I booked it through the website and then communicated over WhatsApp from Canada. It was seamless.
Absolutely a great experience, even in the rain and mud. It was a torrential downpour. We are from Vancouver Canada and used to rain, came with are Vessi water proof hiking shoes- my plug for a Vancouver based company.
Our Guide,Kahliim, was energetic, knowledgeable very enjoyable to be with. We had a wonderful hike.
Trust these guys, they are reliable and fun.
Best reference I can give…. Is I would trust this company again for any of there tours.
The hike itself requires ability to climb on trails that can be rocky. It is not too long, we walked about 2 hours. Not one if you have climbing issues, hip issues and if you do not have proper footwear.

I’ve lived on Tortola since 2013 and I can honestly say this was one of the best days out I’ve had here.
The knowledge that Sef has of the BVI and it’s fauna is out of this world, we learnt about so many different plants and their medicinal values, as well as meeting tarantulas, seeing trees that are like nothing you’ve ever seen before, and fishing for crayfish on our way to the bamboo forest.
We travelled as a family with a 5 year old, and Sef was thoughtful and attentive to all of our needs.
The experience was definitely 10/10 and I highly recommend to visitors and residents alike to take one of these tours, I know I will be again.
Thanks Hike BVI for memories we’ll never forget.

My wife and I chose this hike / tour because the one offered on our cruise was booked. I am thankful for our first choice being taken as this opened us up to an amazing experience with two wonderful gentlemen who guided us through the forest.
They were exceptionally knowledgeable about the vegetation on the Island and explained how watching nature can give clues to what is coming.
We began with a hike. We saw trees that protected themselves and exploded seeds to ensure the seedlings did not reproduce by the main tree. “Everything competed for sunlight.”
I loved the fact we were quizzed at every turn on what we were seeing.
We saw fresh water and a natural ecosystem of filtration of saltwater to fresh water.
I only fell three times on the hike. I would say the terrain is moderate and a lot of loose gravel / dirt, but the support from the staff was great.
The terrain is not wheelchair accessible. But if one is ambulatory it will be fine.
As advertised there was refreshments after the hike.
We also explored a rum making factory still using sugar cane. This location has a self contained eco system as well.
Overall, this tour was fantastic. Highly recommended.

My husband and I booked this tour for our stop in Tortola while on a cruise. We are so glad we did! Our guide, Sef, picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise port promptly and safely. The drive to and from the hiking trail was lovely and Sef shared information about the history and daily life of Tortola. The hike itself was beautiful! Sef was awesome and shared really interesting info about the local flora and fauna. The pace of the hike was just right. I highly recommend Sef and this tour for a wonderful Tortola experience! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home island with us for a few hours!

The tour was fun and surprisingly educational! The guide Seth was very knowledgeable on the island of Tortola and the flora and fauna. It was an overall great experience and the end with a delicious local lunch and lemonade with a cool towel made the difference. Will certainly recommend to all ages and I would do all of his other tours as well!

We enjoyed our trip with Kaleem. There was a good variety....some walking, some driving and a great 360 degree look out spot. There were a couple of historic sites too. Kaleem told us a lot about the interesting plants and trees on our walk. The only thing I wanted to mention for people deciding on whether this is the right tour for them is that it really wasn't a hike, it was a short walk along a cow path in the forest (so great for kids). Overall, Kaleem made it interesting and fun and we got to see quite a bit of the island so we're glad we did this tour instead of just going to a beach.

A great experience. I was able to discover throughout the hike the fauna and flora of the island and different key places and landscapes. But I wish it was even longer 😊A big thank you to David for his kindness and his anecdotes. I was able to rediscover some things and learn some new ones.
