- FarAway638649429190 contributionsMartinique Rum TourSaint Pierre and Rum tasting at Depaz. Manuel was an amazing and energetic tour guide who kept us entertained and informed the entire day. I would highly recommend him to give a tour to anyone we send/book through our travel business.Written 18 March 2025
- marypP1270LD0 contributionsGreat experienceWonderful experience and well informed on this tour! Great views, beach time, answered all of our questions, assisted those who needed extra help, took our pictures! It was a great experience! Thank you so much!Written 5 March 2025
- kristirK6354ZM0 contributionsNot what we expectedThis tour wasn't really a tour at all - at least not the way I understood it to be. We spent most of the day in a bus driving and our guide talked. If I even turned to my mother who was with me to say something quietly or anyone else on the bus spoke at all, the tour guide would immediate stop talking and stare at us annoyingly for interrupting her. We went to a very small store where we could purchase spices, but learned nothing about what spices come from the islands or how they are made. We then went to a rum distillery. The facility was beautiful and we were excited to learn how rum was made. Instead, we had a rum tasting and we were encouraged to buy rum, but no tour at all - we also got in trouble by our tour guide for going to the bathroom without permission at this location. We stopped at the incredible stone monument to abolish slavery and were told we had exactly 10 minutes and then get back into the van. Our final destination was a church and beach. The church was okay, but the beach was filthy. We wouldn't do this one again.Written 26 February 2025
- TheresaP4900 contributionsMartinique day tourWe had a lovely tour with Manuel as our guide. It was our first time in Martinique and the tour was such a good overview of this beautiful, lush island. The spice and chocolate shop were a nice introduction, then on to the rum distillery with picturesque views, rum samples and ice cream. Manuel was such a fun guide and took so many pictures for us to remember this trip. The many vistas that we saw and the drinks and cake at the beach made for a memorable day. You will be very lucky if you are able to spend this tour with Manuel as your guide!!Written 25 February 2025
- Conor D0 contributionsDissapointedThe guide had very poor English and very poor knowledge of the island and the sites we stopped at.( tour organised by company called beyond the beach)Written 23 February 2025
- ErickaB11200 contributionsSuch an amazing tour!We had a great tour exploring the north part of Martinique with Brice. He took us to an old church, we toured the balata gardens, did a short hike to a waterfall, got a beautiful drive along the coast, stopped at a black sand beach (enjoyed some cocktails he brought), then toured and sipped on some rhum at a distillery. We loved so much that he shared his islands culture with us! I would definitely come back to this island, it's absolutely beautiful. Thank you Brice for giving our group a great day! Enjoy your family trip to Miami and the East coast this summer 😉Written 21 February 2025
- FanFamily10 contributionsKnowledgeable & fun 4 hour custom trip....coffee, cake & rum.....what's not to loveManuel was an exceptional tour guide. Speaking fluent English & giving us a lot of information about the island, its history & the culture. It was fabulous to see various areas of the island. The only negative I would say is the cost was a little high for the experience. For note - it was a bit tricky to get cash from ATM's as both tried didn't work so be prepared with your island currency.Written 21 February 2025
- U4938LHjoyw0 contributionsNatural Wellbeing ExperienceFrancisca was amazing as a tour guide and translator for The Wellness on the Beach experience with Marion. Francisca is so knowledgeable about the island of Martinique and she spoke about each city/town the we traveled through from the south to the north of the island. It was a real treat! When we arrived to our yoga beach/wellness retreat with Marion, Francisca served as our translator. Marion was very thoughtful in creating a fabulous wellness experience for us. She made fresh juice for us and had healthy treats and snacks. We did yoga and spent time in the beautiful clearwater black sand beach and then she guided us through a mud mask/scrub and massage. Afterwards we were able to use the handmade products that Marion has created with the elements on the island for our skin care. It was absolutely amazing!!! So relaxing and felt so good! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!Written 20 February 2025
- G8260KQagnieszkaw0 contributionsManuel has given us great tour and shared a lot of positivity!Despite very late booking, we have been lucky to get excellent tour from Manuel, who is radiating happiness and shared it with us. This is definitely a ray of Caribbean light we will take home with us! He is very friendly, knowledgeable, cared for our comfort and shared a lot of information about Martinique with us. We are very happy and feel that we should come back to explore Martinique further. Thank you, Beyond the Beach and especially Manuel!Written 15 February 2025

Joshua was a wonderful guide. He was fun, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about Fort de France. Our tour was booked through our cruise line as a shore excursion and we didn’t know what to expect but we were glad we took the tour with Joshua who gave us tons of info and background about the town and island. He was even telling the other tour guide we passed some info that he didn’t know. I think that the food we sampled was average but we were doing a morning tour and it was probably hard to have food for us in the morning. We sampled sugar cane juice which was very sweet but refreshing on a very hot day. We had some sort of meat empanada which was tasty (fried). We went to a spice market and had time to our own to wander around. We went to a pastry shop and got to choose a pastry to our own liking. Last we went to a place for a typical breakfast which was cod and banana with some apricot juice to drink and also some rum to drink. The meal was decent but I probably wouldn’t order it on my own. One thing to note is that Joshua gave us all a bottle of water before the tour started which was great. I noticed the two other groups didn’t have water so I think he did that on his own which was very nice with the heat.

Sarah was our passionate and cheerful guide on Fort de France Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour.
Despite some initial rain our walking tour was very very pleasant and Sarah made sure we were comfortable at every stop.
From the Schoelcher library to FdF stunning Cathedral to a yummy Sugar-cane-juice freshly squeezed we learnt a lot about that interesting town and could visit places WHERE LOCALS GO !!! We could taste “tete dwet” pastry at an Historic bakery , run since many years by the same family , DELICIOUS !!!
Myself and husband were treated to a yum sit-down local breakfast and I could even chat with the lovely old owner, trying that bit of “creole” that Sarah had been teaching us.
At the FdF open market we were gifted with a small bouquet of “medicinal” herbs and the final visit to a Fine Epicerie presented us with tasty local delicatessen !
This was our second stay in Martinique, but during this tour we could learn much more about local life and curiosities than during our previous visits.
THANK YOU Sarah, we do hope to meet you again during our next trip to Fort de France !!
