El Yunque Off the Beaten Path Hiking Tour
US$ 99.00
Overview
Discover the hidden gems of the El Yunque rainforest with this 6.5-hour, ‘off-the-beaten’ path tour, perfect for those who have previously visited. Walk along secret trails and explore lesser-known waterfalls and swimming holes while discovering some of Puerto Rico’s wildlife, such as the Coqui tree frogs. Enjoy a day of swimming, hiking, and wildlife before heading back to the city.
What to Expect

This hidden gems tour begins with a pickup at your hotel before heading off to explore the lush El Yunque rainforest from a different perspective. Get your hiking boots ready and delight in a lesser-known hiking trail--approximately 35 minutes--to a secret natural pool with a waterfall.

Take your time to enjoy the local flora and fauna of the area, such as rainforest flowers and Coqui tree frogs, before taking a dip in the refreshing natural pools. Dry off before continuing on another 40-minute hike uphill.

Up next is a visit to the El Portal Center to learn about the tropical rainforest, the only one in the U.S. National Forest System.

After another short--and rocky--hike, finish up your adventure at a super-secret pool where you can enjoy natural water slides, swing from a rope into the river, and enjoy the refreshing water before heading back to your hotel.

A Truly Enriching Experience

This is not for the light hiker who wants to follow a well-drawn out path. This is for the true adventurer. I learned much about myself on this trip. I jumped from a rock-cliff into the river, Tarzan swung from a tree, rock climbed, learned...More

Unforgettable

Just great! I would warn people that you can't be a couch potato if you want to try this tour. A lot of climbing rocks and through mud, wading through rivers, and optionally jumping off cliffs and sliding down waterfalls. It's unfortunate that Maria took...More

Private waterfall pools in paradise

I wasn't expecting much from this tour, but what I experienced was fantastic. The hike is relatively easy until you reach the area near pools of fresh rain water and waterfalls. Then the hike is a little challenging but well worth it to be able...More

It would not be good for a 5 yr old or younger; there are areas that involve climbing, using your full body to extend and pull yourself up, or stretching your legs all the way down a boulder to find footing for... More
