This is an absolutely unforgettable experience.
This day trip has it ALL: Adventure, Pristine Tropical Rivers, Waterfalls, Beautiful Scenery, Adrenaline, Fun and even some Archeology/History along the day.
We will swim thru Caves, Go under cool waterfalls and even get to go Cliff Jumping from cliffs rangin from 8 to 25 feet (optional of course) The drive from the meet up spot to the Rainforest Caves is about 1 hour. Along the way you will see the real Puerto Rico, quite removed from the Tourist area. You will see a more rural, connected with nature way of life in the locals we encounter along the day. As mentioned, the scenery along the drive and hike is absolutely incredible. Once the adventure begins we will take you thru the jungle. We grew up doing this and know the area like the back of our hands so you are safe with us.
This tour is to a rather undiscovered part of the island, not touristy at all so dont be surprised if we are the only people there (excluding some locals).

John is an absolutely amazing down to earth guide. 100% authentic tour with no wait lines or crowds. I randomly purchased this tour for our girls trip and it was the highlight. John is so amazing that when I lost my phone, credit, and ID to get back into the states, he found it and returned it. This is an active hike. I would not take small children. Thank you so much John for an amazing experience!!!!

I highly recommend this tour! It’s a 10/10. John, our guide, was great! We were a small group, so the experience felt intimate and focused. John was funny, knowledgeable of the terrain and history of the area. The trip felt very comfortable and safe. The thought of hiking a rainforest or swimming through caves was never something I would think of doing, but I’m so glad I did, and that my first experience was through this tour. Puerto Rico is so beautiful and my brief time in Charco Azul is one I hope never to forget.

Brandon was a knowledgeable, personable and extremely fun guide for exploring the caves and waterfalls. There was just enough challenge, yet we felt very safe, allowing us to enjoy the magnificent rainforest, caves and pools. We are a couple in our late 40s and we took our seventeen year old daughter. It was a perfect trip to bond and have fun. I recommend Brandon for all ages and stages to experience the best Peurto Rico has to offer!!

Our host was Brilliam - I may have spelled it wrong. He was amazing !!! He is calm and kind.
He called it "leg day" and that was the truth.
It is a chance to really push yourself. The stories about the caves and the people. So informative.
I will never forget this trip or Briliam - i was so sacred at to jump he held my hand. Spoke to me calmly and I don't know what it was in knew I could do it. When I landed in the water I cried. I was so proud of myself.
I'm 45, I love nature, I don't work out, true thick chick and I smoke.... you can do this.
Just FYI: You should bring a change of clothes to leave in the van
I would suggest tennis shoes that are light weight but with some grip. The hiking boots were way too heavy to swim in.
He took most of the picture so no need to put your phone in danger.
I would do it again every time !!

What an amazing adventure! So much better than I was expecting! Very small group meaning, one other couple. Our guide, John, was so great! He took the time to explain every step along the way. If I needed help with where to step or place a handhold he was right there to help! I’m not as agile as I use to be, but was made to feel confident in my ability. Loved listening to his experience and knowledge. He really cares about the environment and keeping it safe and clean. I highly recommend this trip! Make sure to wear solid appropriate shoes and dressed to get wet! The less you bring, the better. I did bring a water proof pouch for my phone and left everything else behind. Snacks and water provided. Would do is again for sure! Run don’t walk ! 100% legit!!

Knowledgeable & fabulous guide. Awesome caves and trails. If you are looking for a day of adventure this is a must do!! But note this is not a trip if you are not in good physical condition!!

If you're looking for an attraction that feels more local and peaceful and not as touristy, this one is your best bet! We had an awesome expedition through three caves in Puerto Rico. John not only taught us the history of the area, but also guided us and helped us along the way. I truly enjoyed swimming through the caves and being in the forest and rivers.

This tour has it all - hiking through rain forest, scrambling across rocks, swimming through caves, cliff jumping and celebratory sangria. You will be submerged so leave all of your belongings in the guide’s car. I wore my Keen closed toe water sandals and my husband wore regular water shoes and we managed wet rocks and hiking trails fine. The guide had a ton of local knowledge and was very familiar with the area. He was really attentive, helped our small group of four navigate the forest and took lots of photos for us. We saw a few other people but it wasn’t overcrowded at all- felt very secluded. It’s a must do!

What do we do with our cell phones and wallets, keys, etc.? Is there a place to leave them ?

I took a cell phone water ouch so I could take pictures. The rest (including towels etc) are left in the tour guides vehicle. It’s not recommended that you take anything because you’ll be treading through water, but you’ll also need both hands for some of the hiking.
Should a person wear runners and bring extra clothes?

There's a place at the end where you can change clothes (and even shower if you wish). We brought along a change of clothes and a towel that we left in the vehicle (locked) and were able to change before heading back to town.
