What to expect
Once your cruise ship docks in the Amber Cove Port, meet your guide and transportation outside the port gates. Climb into a vehicle and travel just 15 minutes to a local ranch, where the zipline course is located.  Disembark and listen to a safety briefing before getting fitted for a helmet and harness. Clip in and follow your guide down 7,900 feet (2,408 meters) of galvanized steel cable, holding on to comfortable handle bars as you zip. No experience and no active breaking is required. Walk between the lines at your own pace, with instructors by your side, stopping to try local fruits fresh off the tree.  Return to the cruise port for drop-off at the end of your excursion. This tour ensures a flexible schedule and undivided attention from your guide.

    Stop: 2 hours
Country World Adventures is just an 10 minutes drive from the Amber Cove Cruise Port and 20 minutes from Taino Bay! After the meet and greet at the Country House Bar, you will get equipped for the ziplines. Also, a bottle of fresh drinking water will be attached to your harness, to make sure you stay well hydrated during this adventure. After the safety briefing, it's time to feel the adrenaline on the 8 ACCT certified zip lines, with a total of more than 7,900 feet of double, galvanized aircraft steel cable. The longest ride is 2,460 feet. No experience is required. Contrary to many other zip line parks you are not involved in any active breaking, like using gloves for stopping. An Excursion You MUST do!!
This was by far one of our favorite excursions while in Puerto Plata! The owner D and all of his employees extremely friendly, welcoming, and most importantly fun to hang around!!
The day started with ziplining which we had never done.. it was so fun! 8 different zip lines which my 4 year old did all except one of them solo!
We then did horseback riding through some trails and saw all kinds of wildlife. The horses very well trained and well behaved and easy to control. Our son rode with one of the tour guides and had a blast!
A homemade Dominican lunch was included with a couple cocktails. Lunch was amazing!!
Ended the day with ATV riding.. through streams and jungle and part of the mountains.
There was a gentlemen carving out of soap stones and we bought one of the sculptures. Before we left we explored the gardens which had beautiful flowers, talking parrots, and flamingos!
We definitely 100% recommend visiting Country World Adventures you will NOT be disappointed!

Thanks D!!

Fun zip lining experience as shore excursion at Amber Cove
Dec 2019
We went to the Country World Adventure Park as part of a shore excursion when the cruise ship we were on was in Amber Cove in December 2019. We only did the zip lining although they also offer packages that include horseback riding and ATVs.

I, my wife, and 12 year old son had a lot of fun during this outing. The staff was very friendly and the zip lining was very fun and exciting. All of the ziplines and harnesses are redundant and we felt very safe. You don't have to do any of the braking on the ziplines which is nice. Overall we would definitely recommend others go to this park to take advantage of the packages they offer.

A couple of things to be aware of:

1. You do need to walk between each of the zipline stations which I didn't find to be a big deal but others might. Originally I thought this was a zipline park where you stayed in the tree canopy the whole time but found out I was wrong about that. For the most part the walking is not very strenuous but for several of the ziplines you do need to walk up a small hill and for several of them climb several stories up a tower.

2. One thing to note is that the tips for the driver and the folks actually working at the park are separate so be sure to leave tips for the folks at the park within the provided tip jar. I didn't understand that and so regrettably we did not leave any tips for the folks that were working the ziplines that very helpful and friendly.

3. If you are coming in on a cruise ship then be aware that it is a good 10 minute walk out to where the vans are parked for the shore excursions not booked through the cruise line. Again not a big deal to me but others in my party weren't overly thrilled with that.

The entire experience was great and a lot of fun. Our driver and guide were very nice pointing out the different points along the way. Even showing us the mango trees which were full of fruit and letting us taste let me tell you this was the best mango i ever had.

Such a great experience!
We chose this as part of one of our excursions as part of our cruise on Carnival Glory. I won’t lie, I was completely nervous for this because I knew it would get higher and higher and lord knows I’m afraid of heights. A tour guide by the name Frank and bus was waiting for us to be taken into the country side which was about 12 minutes and you got a look at the normal country folk. Upon getting there, we were welcomed by the head leader of the operations and he gives you a detailed explanation of what we needed to know regarding safety while on our zip line adventure.

We were asked to sign a waiver in the case of any scenario which I tell you to definitely read so your aware and not just sign away.

All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and ensured us on how our group would go around our excursion which was very helpful.

Once you do the first, the next 7 were so much fun and the views, AMAZING!

I will point out that to get to every different zip line location, you will be walking up steep hills (but with railings) which get harder as you go up higher but, if your a active person - this is a piece of cake. Great TIP - they get around by horse so if you want to get a move on by horse, you can!

As we finished the zip lining, we had fresh squeezed mango juice upon our return which was delicious!

Overall, I LOVED IT! I hope to come back and visit the wonderful staff and team who made this trip worth my while.

Thank You!

Excellent- Must Do Shore Excursion!
Sep 2018 • Couples
We arrived at Amber Cove, D.R. a day early and on a Sunday, but these guys came in on their day off to make sure we could still have this shore excursion!!! Everyone was super friendly, reassuring and knowledgeable. Frank, our tour guide, and Demi, our bus driver, picked us up at the port for a short ride/tour to the park.

The staff at the park were awesome! Being newbies to zip lines, we were a little nervous but they made us feel completely confident and safe along the way. There are 8 different lines of graduating intensity over beautiful scenery that used either gravity or blocks to stop us; no hand breaks, so was perfect for us.

We left wondering why we had waited 44/45 years to try zip lining and are certain this will become an addiction! There is a moderate amount of climbing on sometimes steep and uneven terrain, but if the 76 & 84 year old (who were in our tour group) could do this then most should be able to!

Water, fresh mangos and free online access to the photos the staff took of us were just the cherries on top!!!

FUN MORNING OF ZIPLINE
May 2018 • Couples
Was picked up at hotel in Playa Dorata, taken about 20 minutes through Puerto Plata to the ziplining, great tour of city on the way. Was Greeted at the ziplining and given a briefing and bottle of water, that could be clipped to your harness.
Taken and out fitted with Harness and hardhat, checked to make sure everything was good , then just a few steps to a test line. to check everything out, before making the first zip a few feet away.
Then the excitement really started 7 lines in total no need for gloves here they have breaks to stop you.
Some hills, but not bad im a bigger guy of 57 years and had no problems, there was a rest spot about half way through, just before the longest zip.
Then you zip till u stop a short distance from where you started.
then on to have drink of sour orange juice they make. Its delisious.
Fun Time i HIGHLY Recommend it.

Highly recommended excursion!!
Mar 2018 • Family
We visited Country World Adventure park on March 24, 2018. Our group consisted of five adults and three children aged 7, 10 and 12. We purchased our package for the zip-line and animal farm/petting zoo online directly through the company's website. We emailed in advance about a group rate and they gave us a discount code for booking. I highly recommend booking this way as opposed to going through a tour operator.

We were picked up from our hotel (Riu Bachata) promptly at the specified pick up time and it was about a 20 to 30 min ride to the park. It would have been shorter had there been no construction. The transport was akin to an open air safari truck. So if it's an overcast day, you may want to bring along a sweater as it can get cool.

Upon arrival we were met by our guide who explained how our day was planned out. If you're doing the zip-line, you cannot take any bags/backpacks with you. You can take your phones and/or camera/Go-Pro with you. But you have to carry it the entire time so make sure you have pockets. They have small and large locker rentals. We were able to fit a North Face backpack, a sling sac, and a recyclable hand carry bag in the large locker because we're cheap, lol. The large locker cost $4 or $5 US for the entire stay and you're given a key to keep on your person. They also provide water bottles for each person so no need to worry if you get thirsty during the excursion.

Once we put everything away we went to get fitted for the zip-line equipment. Not much explaining needed. They fit us with harnesses, helmets, and gave us the handles to carry with us. There were also clips on the harnesses for the water bottles so you aren't left holding them the entire time.

The zip-line safety precautions and procedures were explained to us on the first zip-line and away we went. There were a total of 8 zip-lines on our excursion. With a little walking in between. The first few were relatively quick and lower to the ground. The sixth zip-line was the highest, longest, and fastest. All the zip-lines were single riders only, except for the sixth. If you're travelling with smaller children, they'll allow tandem riders where the child is straddling the adult. The only rule is that it's a total 260 lbs maximum for both riders. My sister took her son tandem and they actually stopped quite a ways from the end. Most likely because they were holding on to the handle incorrectly causing the emergency brake to engage. One of the guides on a horse threw them a rope so he could pull them to the end!

I don't know if they normally do this for everyone but they offered us the choice of doing the sixth zip-line again if we wanted. We declined as once was enough for all the kids and we didn't want them waiting around.

All that said, the zip-lines were a great experience! When we were done, we were expecting to go for the included lunch buffet but I guess we had finished the zip-lines so early that it wasn't ready yet. So they offered us the horseback riding excursion at no cost!!!

We each got a horse with a saddle. I don't have much experience with the upkeep of horses so I will say that the horses didn't look like they were in the best shape. But they also didn't look like they were being abused in any way. We had three guides with us. One leading the pack, one pulling my daughter's horse as she wasn't entirely comfortable on her own. And one in the back making sure no one fell behind. They took us on a trail which was basically a dirt road within the park which crossed a small stream. And when I say small stream, if you got off of your horse you'd be ankle deep at most. We appeared to reach a point near the park edge that met the highway as you could hear vehicle traffic. At that point, we turned around and went back the exact same way we came.

Along the route there were many different fruit trees they pointed out. We also saw a couple of locals that lived on the land along with some farm animals. Nothing spectacular but for my first horseback ride, it was entertaining. The horses for the most part got along with each other, but they did warn us to ride in a line rather than beside each other as sometimes the horses would try and bite each other. Our guides did an excellent job keeping everyone and their horses in check.

The horseback ride took less than an hour and once we were back the traditional Dominican lunch buffet was ready. It included white rice, beans, fried chicken, a couple of vegetable dishes, and a fruit platter. Not a grand selection, but very good food nonetheless. Beer and spirits were available at an additional cost.

After finishing lunch we did the last part of our excursion which was the animal farm/petting zoo. We walked through a fenced area where animals were kept in cages. A guide would take animals out for everyone to hold and/or feed. There were a couple of monkeys that everyone got to take a turn holding and feeding. The monkey would climb onto your hand or shoulder and take the beans that the guide gave you. There were also a few birds that you could hold or place on your head and shoulders to take pictures. The kids loved that a couple of the birds had learned to say Hola! We also saw a few flamingos but weren't allowed near them. And the last one they brought out was an iguana. My wife wasn't as satisfied with the animals as she expected that there would be more of them around, expecially the monkeys. They only had a couple and I believe in some website promo material they had quite a few roaming around. After the animals, the guide took us on a short walk to show us the various fruit trees up close. There were so many different types. It's amazing to see how the things we go to the store for can just be grown and plucked in your own backyard here. Our guide was very informative when it came to the various plants and trees grown in the Dominican.

That ended our excursion and we were taken back to our hotel and arrived just before 3pm. In total, the excursion was just under seven hours. Plenty of time to hit the pool or beach before having to get ready for dinner.

Prior to booking our excursions we did our research and this one consistently had great reviews. You can add this one to the list. Unfortunately, I didn't get the names of all the people that made our excursion a great one. But from the transporation guys, our guides, the ladies who cooked the food, everyone we met were nothing but helpful, courteous, and always had a smile on their face. I would definitely recommend this tour. If we ever return, I hope to do the waterfall excursion. Other people that were there said it was amazing, but something that was definitely not for smaller children.

Thank you again Country World Adventure park! Keep up the awesome job!=
