- honeyb9030 contributionsFriendly Horses and Nice Views, More than One Hour ThoI truly can say I enjoyed my time! The views were nice and it was a long view of the water on the shoreline. It starts with them picking you and all the rest of your the groups that booked up from different hotels. Then drive down to their ranch to sign a waiver and get helmets (lockers are free! And transport there and back) then on to a horse! The horses were very easy to control and friendly, I loved my horse! 1/2 through they start taking pictures and you get a little break off the horse to look out at the sea and have a coconut if you have $3 extra dollars. Then a ride straight back to the ranch for them to show/try to sell your pictures to you. Ranging from $15 to $60+ dollars if you choose to buy. I loved my horse ride and my guide, but do not be fooled this is NOT a 1 hour tour. We were picked up at 2:48pm and then started at the ranch around 3:30pm and didn’t get done till around almost 6:45-7pm so if you have reservations I’d be cautious of booking it in a close proximity time limit because it is definitely more than an hour. I could tell we was taking longer than normal because the guides kept making the horse go faster towards the end of our journey lol but if a safe way. My boyfriend didn’t like it because of how long it was, but then again he probably went only because of me but I had a good time! If you have some hours to kill and you love horses and nature I’d say go, also the bus doesn’t have Ac but it is widow less so there’s air flowing. WEAR SENSIBLE CLOTHES, NOT JUST A BATHING SUIT! The group before us were not happy in their swimsuits. At least wear shorts if you think it will be extremely hot. I’d recommend, just remember it is DEFINITELY more than 1 hour, and that’s not including the ride there from our resort. I had a great time and I could see going again knowing what I know now!Written 27 May 2024
- TouchDWorld210 contributionsRelax Day On The RanchReally enjoyed spending the day at the ranch. I truly felt like I was in the wilderness with some of the most amazing scenery ever. The hosts Felix and Charina are top notch. They were very hands on and made the trip exciting. I enjoyed riding the ATV’s to the top of the mountain to take in the breathtaking views of the mountains, rivers and ocean all in one place. While riding we passed cows, horses, donkeys as if they were in their original habitat. The food was excellent! I am a world traveler of 49 countries. I totally enjoyed this experience. You will need insect repellent but it was well worth the scratch.Written 20 May 2024

- Q7512YYnicolep0 contributionsPuke and trash beachNope. So unorganized. Walked through puke/trash filled beach. Got on a weird looking “glass bottom boat” where you can’t see the water above and it leaked. Brought you to see dolphins which consisted of parking next to the swim with the dolphin pen and see other people paying to see them. Did get to see one jump. If you have any balance issues whatsoever do not do this. You have to jump over from the beach to the boat that takes you to the glass bottom boat and transfer to that then you have to transfer to the barge and then off the barge to another boat and then jump out of the boat onto the beach. Transportation was hectic. They wouldn’t pick up at our hotel we had to meet outside the gate. We got 5 minutes down the road had to turn back because they forgot two people and drove by our hotel to get them. Now to the snorkeling and scuba doo. They ask if you want to snorkel and give no other instructions from that. We just jumped in on our own and swam around. The scuba doo was cool but if you don’t like tight spaces or have problems with your ears popping don’t do it. Cool experience but really it was driving out so they could take photos of you and then you “drive” back. I was traveling with my kids and we definitely did not feel safe during this excursion. Disappointed for sure. It says half day trip. We were only gone 3 hours max and that included 30 minute commute to and from. Go to monkey land and plantation tour if you want a fun half day trip.Written 24 February 2024

- G8866NRjeffreys0 contributionsGreat half day activity! The trip was very fun. The pictures were priced reasonably so you don’t have to choose 1 or 2. The team was flexible whe I need to switch my reservation day after waking up under the weather on our original date. I would definitely recommend this.Written 4 January 2024

- Ragirl110 contributionsPacked lots in to half a day - ideal length if travelling with childrenOur guide Diomedes (sorry if I spelt it wrong!) was great. He helped us practise our Spanish whilst telling us about the sites we were visiting and the wider Dominican Republic life, economy, places etc. We visited a coffee and chocolate plantation and saw the beans/coco pods growing on the trees. We tried the finished product and there was opportunity to buy products from the local farmer if you wanted to. Then to the cigar factory which we enjoyed even though we don’t smoke. We got to roll the cigars ourselves and try some local alcoholic products. There is a gift shop here if you want to buy anything. Finally we went to the beautiful cathedral in Higuey which was really stunning, the architecture is very special and worth seeing, as was the local market where we tried sugar cane drink. The market was very authentic with many fresh fruits, spices and meats for sale at butchers stalls and live chickens. Our kids (14 and 11) enjoyed this tour and taste of local real Dominican life and half a day was a good length of time to enjoy the local culture for them. Would recommend.Written 30 October 2023

- I5944VXbarbarab0 contributionsAn Enjoyable DayOur guide, Diómedes, was excellent. He was very informative and had a warm, welcoming manner. We especially loved seeing the typical house where we learned about coffee and cacao production. Going to the cigar factory was a great experience as we saw how cigars are made. I would recommend this tour if you care about having authentic experiences that show aspects of local life.Written 4 October 2023

The yacht ride to the island was very nice. The crew was great. The island it’s self was a sand bar in the middle of the ocean. It was beautiful. We did some snorkeling and stayed with the guides as they were feeding the fish.
