- sknirb0 contributionsOk. Definite tourist trap. Here are my thoughts. It’s a tourist trap. We primarily wanted to do the buggies. They were fun but it was 45 minutes of the excursion. We arrived at the park at 8:45am and didn’t leave until 1:30pm. We had 3 buggies for our group. 2 of the 3 were good. 1 buggy had to get swapped out 3 times due to various mechanical issues. The cenote is a hole in the ground. No caves. The waterfall basin is a man made concrete pool. The lunch after was good. Chicken, beans and rice, but you have to buy your drink. The staff are nice. There’s really nothing “natural” about the park. The bird sounds are pumped through speakers. They don’t let you take your bags/phones/cameras with you citing “safety” reasons. The real reason is they want you to rent one of their lockers and then sell you a photo package at the end of the tour. Photos are $16 each or $175 for your group package. It was something we did to break up our week. If we did something similar in the future we would try to find something that was more focused on the activity we wanted to do and was more in a natural setting. I know there were people on the excursion that thought it was fun. I did find the buggies fun, but the rest I could have dealt without.Written 2 January 2025

The Bavaro Adventure Park excursion was pretty fun! A little pricey, but felt it was worth it.
Breakdown: we went with a group of 10. First we had a traditional Dominican lunch, followed by a trip to the waterfall pool. We then took a fun ride on a Polaris to a cenote then to the Dominican Village. there, we received a brief history lesson, participated in a cigar, coffee, chocolate, and mamajuana tasting. We were also able to purchase various local goods before heading back to the main area.
Guides
Carlos was our tour guide. He was very informative and entertaining. His interaction with the other tour guide, Panda, was HILARIOUS!
Polaris
You get to choose between the dune buggies and the Polaris. The Polaris is faster, more comfortable, and has power steering. Would highly recommend riding the Polaris cause that thing was a blast to drive!
Lockers
They don't allow you to any items on the vehicle. At first we were a little put off by this rule, but I could definitely see why. They do provide small and large lockers. The small lockers were TINY. Only bring the necessities on this excursion and share a locker as a group.
Recommendations
I would highly recommend bringing ski-goggles or something similar. Our entire group bought sunglasses and those did not do anything. I would also highly suggest bringing a bandana to cover your mouth and nose. If you want to enjoy the dune buggy/Polaris to the fullest, goggles and face covering are a must.
Overall
Our group really enjoyed this excursion. If I were to offer one area of improvement, it would be to provide some way for people to carry a camera or phone on the vehicle to the cenote and village. Maybe a storage compartment on the vehicle?

Hey Joseph! Greetings from Punta Cana. We really appreciate your time to leave us your comments and your rating about our park. Regarding your recommendations, due to security issues it is not allowed to carry electronic equipment during the activities, we have presented problems in the past so we need to be strict with this, security comes first. We hope to have you back in the park for more adventures. Best.

We visited in the first week of our holiday as my 7 year old was desperate to do ziplining. It was great fun, and the water splash ending makes it different to any other ziplining available. If you don't have closed sports shoes with you, they sell water shoes for $25 that can be worn for all activities.
The place was so great that we decided to visit again in the second week of our holiday and booked the full access option. I would say this is much better value than one activity - it was only about £100 more for 2 of us to do buggies, horse riding and the jungle river as well as the ziplining.
My son says it was the best day of his life!
Definitely bring a bandana and glasses/goggles for the buggies. You have to figure out how to drive them yourself but it's great fun once you get it! Buggy activity is a couple of hours as you stop for a swim in the Cenote and for a visit to the Dominican Village where you can sample coffee, hot chocolate and Dominican cigars (all for free) and have the option to buy things.
The horse riding was great and it didn't matter if you've never been on a horse before, they were really easy to handle.
Ziplining is brilliant, you get 6 lines plus a bridge (be warned, if you choose not to do the bridge you also skip 2 lines), and the final line ends in water. Everything felt really safe and the staff are responsible for all the clipping/unclipping as you go round.
Jungle river is nice and leisurely, with a few waterfalls thrown in.
You then get access to the Cenote, waterfall fall and a playground with any activity you book. You can't take phones or cameras on the activities but there are photographers everywhere. We paid $79 for all the photos taken of us on a full day which was 80+ (you can get photos taken by the waterfall as well if you want)
The staff were all lovely and helpful, and I expect we will be back in future!

We booked this through destination services, there were 2 in our party and we both wanted our own buggy, so it was a 30 upcharge per person for that. Mr coca cola was our tour guide and he was great!! Just fast enough to keep your heart pounding, but not so much you ever felt like you were out of control. The cenote was fun and the included lunch was very tasty.

This is a total ripoff, the only thing they want is your money. NO PHONE - only because they want your money. My son wasn’t driving and he kept his cell phone, when one of the guy saw it, he came to me, in the middle of nowhere and said the phone or the buggy. WOW customer service. Anyway, I have driven buggy in many other places in the world but that was the only place to focus on exploiting tourists that much, I get that everyone suffered from COVID but that is not the way anyone should do business. At $90 USD per person for approx 65 minutes inside the buggy, I think that we should be allowed to take pictures at the beach when we stop by. Anyway, who are they to want to seize your phone?

Hello Steve,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. But, we don't allow the use of the phones during buggy tour for safety reasons, and the safety of our guests is our priority.
The main idea of the park is to provide a safe and fun activity for all guests. However, once the tour has done, you can use your phone and take pictures.
We would like to welcome you again for a better experience!

Literally the biggest waste of money. They make you pay for a locker to lock your belongings. You are not allowed to bring anything with you during the buggy/polaris ride. No phones allowed. They basically demanded my husband empty his pockets because they saw a phone print in his shorts, then made him put the phone back in the locker You drive the buggy’s around the same loop a few times. The total buggy driving time is only 45 mins. You drive in a straight line with 15 other buggies at a max speed of 15 mph. The cenote is a man made hole. They give you small pieces of wood to use as “tokens” for lunch and when I told the worker I lost ours (considering we had no bag/purse to put them in on the ride) the worker didn’t care and said “oh well”. Once you enter the park you are trapped there, they have workers standing at the exits to prevent you from leaving. We wanted to leave early and they told us we couldn’t leave and that taxis would cost $60 to go back to the resort. Literally found an Uber for $10. Nothing is “authentic” about this park

We went today on the 29th August 24 as a family of four, our sons are 15 and 13 years of age and my husband is 6'8 and loved the the polaris buggys because he actually fitted in them. What a trip! Great memories all around and a action packed day. Staff were very friendly and helpful and big willy was hilarious on the coffee/ chocolate stop shop he really entertained the group! And he really sounded like Kevin Heart!
Very beautiful park, man made or not it was beautiful and refreshing! The dominican house is a example of how dominican people live no one actually lives there in a theme park but it was interesting to see! Zip lines was awesome plenty to do expecially the water zip line! Horse riding was brilliant and the horses looked like they are looked after properly too. Lazy river was so relaxing and good fun, just what we needed after the horse riding to cool off. The waterfall was beautiful and clean we took some lovely photos down there as phones was allowed there.
None of the staff was pestering us for tips either so it was encouraging for us to drop a few here and there.
The cenote was stunning and just what we needed to refesh during the buggy experience to cool off and clean the mud off of ourselves!
There was two minor things that caught us off guard and that was there was no drinks with the meal but the meal was super delicious. We brought some drinks for $3 each which we didn't think was too bad considering they could of charged more. We found most thing reasonably priced in the gift shop too. Secondly we couldn't take mobile phones with us and had to buy a locker for $9 but to be honest I wouldn't of wanted to take my phone on the zip lines or buggys because we got totally soaked and the could of easily flew out your hands as it was really bumpy.
The photo people took pictures around the park getting pictures, you would of never of got with your cell phone I wasn't going to buy any but ended up getting 88 pictures for $129 memories over money I'd say and if you can afford to take a day trip out to a park like this then it's a minor dent in your wallet!
Take spare set of clothes and shoes. A bandanna and sunglasses for the buggys is a must have! And take some drinks if you want to keep the price down!
We would definitely go back and recommend this park to families and couples or anyone that want a adrenaline rush! We need something like this in the UK but with heated pools! Lol

This excursion package was AMAZING!! From the amazing staff, Coca Cola, Jason, Kelvin, & Tomas just to name a few! We booked the full access package which was $170, VERY affordable to do about 6 different activities. This took about 7/8 hours & included lunch, coffee & cocoa tasting & an overall wonderful experience! If you are in DR pls give them a visit! Also note they do not allow phones (they capture moments) for this excursion, respectfully!!!

Not really my favorite activity. The Polaris was fun. It was fun driving through the water and mud tbh. But the rules say if you break anything then you have to pay. That's strange we would need to pay even if it's normal wear and tear for an ATV in this type of terrain and going the speeds the guide was goi g. I did feel bullied by the guide. I was going fast except one part where the water splashed so bad I couldn't see and it blocked my goggles. Later he said if you cant go fast enough to the back. I guess they would rather you run into trees instead of slowing down to see better. That's not safety. I also felt like it was a lot of waiting. Got there at 1 and waited until 3 to ride. Doing that time we just sat there or had an option to look at a waterfall. After the ride we sat another hour waiting for the busses to arrive. So a lot of down time that I feel could be filled better some type of way. I wouldn't return.

Hi,
Thank you for visiting us. Your opinion is important for us, it help us to improve.
Regarding of paying something if you break it, it happens when you do not respect the rules and put your safety and that of others at risk.
The 3rd shift, starts with lunch and relaxing at waterfall pool before go to the buggy ride. We apologize for the inconvenience.

What a tourist trap. If you go in the morning expect a Disney type line. If you want them to be quick be ready to pay for upgrades. Then they take you to the buggy. Its you and another 20-30 cars. Buggy ride is a start and stop given the amount of cars plus to make it worst several groups just as big after/before you so you end up spending more time on the buggy under the sun than riding. Limited time riding was not exciting just thru some trails (less than 30 mins was the riding). The Blue Lagoon Cenote is a JOKE. Literally a hole made by a digger. To end the comedy, the “waterfall” is a pool with a man made waterfall. We were 10 and the only one that enjoyed it was my 12 yr old niece. Never going back and hope this review helps someone. Oh by the way. They don’t allow cell phones for “safety reasons” maybe I could understand that, they take you photos thru the day, but then we took a group photo and they wanted to charge $20 per person on the photo. Thats right $200 dollars for a digital copy of our group photo.

Hi,
Thank you fos sharing the details of your expereince.
Safety first, the buggies are vehicles that needs your attention at all times as you drive through uneven roads shared with the other participants and driving and filming or taking pictures may cause a distraction that affects you or the others.
The welcome picture that is normally by families, couples or groups, is for free to all our clients.
We are sorry to read that our concept was different than expected.

Let me start off with the pros….
It’s worth the money! You get ample time to do each activity. Some at your leisure, some scheduled. The food that’s included is Dominican rice & beans & chicken, which was good. Soft beverage drink NOT included. Bathrooms were clean to be enclosed but outdoors. You have to pay for lockers which is $9 for a large one. They’re password coded so no keys to keep track of.
Now for the cons…..
The staff was not very friendly. Each activity you’re switched off to another tour guide. The entire excursion was UNORGANIZED!!! Nobody knew what we were doing next. The only thing they knew was we were doing the buggy first. After that it was all a guessing game. You didn’t know whether to stay in clothes or switch to your swim stuff. We didn’t have access to our lockers throughout because they randomly say oh we’re going here now and the lockers are at the main entrance. We did buggy’s, which you go to the denote and get wet so you get back on the buggy WET, then go back to eat, then zip line where you get wet, from there they took us horseback riding soaking wet, then pool and jungle river, which basically a lazy river. The wet and dry activities mixed were very annoying and UNCOMFORTABLE!!! Who wants to horseback wet or finish off a buggy ride WEt. It’s a lot of walking in a trail type environment.
Furthermore, they do not allow your phone basically at any activity other than the pool and jungle river. Horseback and buggy or zip line is not allowed bc they want to take your money with the photos they take. For $300 Iused my phone. I got into an argument 2xs with the supervisor and tour guide because they told me I can’t use it but if I paid $300 I should be allowed to take my own photos. Keep that in mind. They tried to take my phone but I refused to give it to them.
Hi,
Thank you for your feedback nd sharing the highlights of your adventure.
Personal items are not permited to avoid any distraction during the zipline and horsback ridding as you need both hands at all time. To drive and film or to take pictures sounds fun but may cause a distraction. While you are in between of the activities, you have a chance to get ready for the next adventure thats why recommend to bring an extra clothes.
We hope to see you again for more and new adventures. 🤙

Hello,
We are a group of 16 coming to Punta Cana. I really would love to book this but I have some questions. We know which 3 activities we would do as group but since the group is large we would love to know how do we do them while staying in group? I'll look forward to someone getting back to me so we can discuss this. Thank you,
