About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Susheel_Marcus0 contributionsTyndis TravelI recently embarked on my second outing with Tyndis Travels, a meticulously curated Nileswaram trip. Naveen, my key contact, skillfully crafted an itinerary focused on Theyyam performances and exploring heritage structures in Kasargod & Nileswaram. The schedule, collaboratively designed with local experts for Kaliyattam events, was flawless. Seamless networking for accommodation, transportation, and a knowledgeable guide familiar with temple schedules ensured a trip without a hitch. Tyndis Travels delivered a thoroughly enjoyable and well-coordinated experience. Highly recommended!Written 31 January 2024
- yasuhiroy9370 contributionsWonderful experienceGood knowledge to learn multiple groups of people integrated Kozhikode since more than 1,000 years ago. Could enjoy many sceneries with clear explanation which I never get without this tour.Written 28 January 2024

This agency is simply one of the best that I have used so far, thank you so much Naveen and the team for crafting such wonderful journey for us.Written 19 January 2024

- Landeche M0 contributionsTemple visit, scenic walk, and guide's kindness throughout the tour.Sreekanth, has been incredibly kind and attentive throughout our visit. He took us to visit several magnificent temples and showed us picturesque alleys that we would never have dared to explore on our own. His clarity in explanations and patience in answering all our questions made this experience even more enriching. We are grateful to have had the chance to benefit from his knowledge and company during this tour. Thank you, Sreekanth, for this unforgettable experience!Written 13 January 2024
- Vaibhavdalal780 contributionsWonderful discover of the rich heritageIt was a wonderful 3 hrs learning about Calicut. Great way to discover history and the rich heritage. Sreekanth was a very patient host with deep knowledge of the local. Had a great time..a must doWritten 17 December 2023
- flatbed130 contributionsA lovely day in CalicutReally interesting, informative and enjoyable tour. We combined it with the punting tour of the mangroves at the Kandalundi bird sanctuary. Calming after the heat and bustle of Calicut. Easy to combine if you have a car and driver. Try and start the walking tour of Calicut as early as possible due to the heat.Written 14 November 2023
- Kelvin L0 contributionsDon't do itTerrible experience after booking a mangrove tour for 2 using this TripAdvisor site almost 24hrs in advance! Despite information about the tour saying 'reserve now & pay later' I was required to provide credit card details to complete the booking and the payment was subsequently drawn from my linked account. I subsequently received an email from TripAdvisor confirming the booking but advising it was pending confirmation by the operator - which may take up to 3 days! There was no indication of this potential delay in the tour information - which may take up to 3 days! We duly arrived at the designated meeting point in Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary next morning in the hope that the tour would be delivered, only to be told by staff and other operators that they had NEVER heard of this tour operator! No-one answered the contact number for inquiries to the supposed operator that were provided in the TripAdvisor booking confirmation despite repeated calls over 30 minutes, including by concerned officials from the Sanctuary. The number came up as belonging to Jays Inn, not Tyndis as advertised. It seems this tour page may be a scam. Ultimately we took a great tour with another operator for a fraction of the price we had paid for the boat tour that was NEVER DELIVERED!Written 9 November 2023

- deepakjois0 contributionsWell worth it!The experience was wonderful. It exceeded all our expectations. Our guide Sreekanth was so knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic. We discovered places we wouldn't even have known about if we walked around on our own - a halwa making kitchen, a coconut oil making facility etc!Written 7 October 2023
- 392tanushreem0 contributionsInsight into the stories that make CalicutThis was not like a normal tour, it was the story of a city that you'll never experience or read about on Wikipedia. The storyteller Sreekant took me through the streets of Calicut, revealing the stories that made up the streets and buildings in a way that made everything come alive. The meandering nature of the walk felt like I was back in time and here in 2023 at the same time. He answered all my questions, introduced us to local vendors. It amazed me at how ancient the international trade in Calicut is and how old and instrinsic the multicultural harmony is to its identity. I am so glad I found this company and I look forward to other experiences in the future.Written 4 October 2023
- EmmaJoly780 contributionsWonderful one week trip in KeralaI had a wonderful one week trip to the best places in Kerala! Lux hotels, great food, marvelous landscapes, and an exceptionnal driver!! I warmly recommand Tyndis and Biju as a driver.Written 4 August 2023
- johndX1793MZ0 contributionsThe best planner hands downNaveen was a dream to work with. He was responsive, proactive and planned the trip to perfection. He not only allowed changes but encouraged it so that we get the best experience for me and my fiance. All the hotels were top class and every stay was a picture perfect. Most of all, the staff and contractors he hired were very polite and courteous. Our driver Umesh is probably the highlight of the trip. He made it so special with his warm personality. He made extra effort to ensure we are taken care of EVERYWHERE we went. We have made a friend for life. I still text him even after 6 months. He's a great man. Naveen was the best thing that happened to us when my fiance and I were trying to spend some quality time together before we tie the knot. Now we are happily married and have a lot of great memories from our 7 day trip that Naveen planned to perfection. Thank you Naveen. I was sceptic when I first booked the trip reading the reviews thinking those are fake and all as I was flying in from Washington DC. But all the positive reviews are actually true. He is truly the best. I am so thankful for the time you spent in planning our trip. I'll be using your services again and again coz my wife wants us to make a trip to Kerala for our anniversary. I highly recommend Naveen and his company. Ask for Umesh as your driver if you wanna make your trip memorable. Make sure you ask him to play his music in the drive. He loves classical music and it really goes well with the trip in his gods own country Kerala. CheersWritten 4 April 2023
- Scorpio150 contributionsA whistle stop tour of Calicut history, culture and foodI m so glad we took this tour on our first visit Calicut. Our storyteller - Rajeesh - was an energetic and passionate local with nuanced knowledge of the city nooks and corners. Well versed in the history and culture of the city, he ran the tour at a relaxed but efficient pace. We spent good time at the key temples, churches, mosques in the different quarters of the city. He also gave us a superb insight into the most famous food of the city - halwa, chips, biryani, pickles etc. He took us into the bylines where these things are actually made - he knew the owners of these paces and took us deep inside the kitchens to see, for instance how is the famous Kozhikoden halwa made. For our next trip, I ll definitely sign up for some of their other tours! Keep it up Team Tyndis!Written 4 January 2023

Well, Wayanad is a very beautiful place with lots of attractions. Tyndis Tours’ arrangements and guidance was excellent. We booked the Tyndis Wayanad tour on 17th Jan 2020. Everything was great and special thanks to Mr. Sohal for making it a memorable experience.
The day tour included the tribal village visit, which was exciting. We loved the interactions with the tribal folks of Wayanad! Really welcoming people they were. The tribal colony is a place where one can experience the indigenous culture and tribal tradition of Wayanad. Our storyteller was enthusiastic and explained about the tribal colonies and their livelihood. We interacted with the tribal chieftain - called the Mooppan. He talked in the local dialect, which Sohal translated for us!
The Ambalavayal village ensured the local essence, the Wayanad Heritage Museum added the heritage flavour to the tour. Wayanad has various varieties of rice. In our village walk, we saw agricultural activities going on in the farmlands of Ambalavayal village. Sohal explained about the arrival of Rubber and single crop plantations in Wayanad. He seemed to have an interest towards agriculture! The walk also covered local interactions, primary schools and many such places! The Edakkal Caves was yet another awaited experience and yes, finally we were able to climb up the famous historic place of Wayanad! I could read a lot about Edakkal on the internet during my travel research last month.
This Edakkal climb – it was not a very difficult hike, and the pace was not very crowded, but it was a great way to get to explore the wilderness of the place...and the views were absolutely amazing! Our storyteller Sohal did a fantastic job keeping us all together and provided so much information and great tips for all the stops. The experience at the archery making unit of Wayanad was mind-blowing. We thoroughly enjoyed the place…
Wayanad is famous for its tribal arrows and bows. We could meet a person who makes these. The archery making culture of Wayanad is on a declining phase as explained by the old archerer. He shared his concerns about this with us. I personally was overwhelmed with his passion towards the craft. He even taught us how to shoot the bow. Tremendous experience it was!! This Wayanad tour by Tyndis was a great example of how community engagement tours should be! I specially thank Tyndis team for curating such an experience.
It was a great way to get to experience the entire area for me, including time with/without the group to allow for exploration of each point along the tour. I would definitely do this trip again.

I had a great day with our storyteller Sohal and Abu. I was searching for something unique to do on my next day in Wayanad and that’s when I came across the Wayanad village tour with a storyteller offered by Tyndis. I checked the description and was fascinated by what was offered. The price was cheap as well. I booked the tour for next morning – they arranged things quite well within the short notice!
I was packed for the day. Sohal joined me at the entrance of the Edakkal caves. We experienced the famous caves and headed to the tribal village nearby. It was an overwhelming experience for me! Tyndis has curated this tour to a next level with amazing stories and lots of local essence. I interacted with the tribal people, took snaps with them and they sang tribal songs for me! What a feeling!
Sohal next took me for a walk through the rural roads of Ambalavayal – a beautiful village. I shared stories about Wayanad’s agriculture, the varieties of rice grown, the livelihood of farmers, etc. In some random farm midway, I even exchanged ideas with a labourer who didn’t understand English and I didn’t understand a word of the language in which he responded! All thanks to Sohal for translating things for us!! Sohal was extremely informative and spoke great English.
Our next stop was at the heritage museum in Ambalavayal – it is better known as Wayanad heritage museum. It is not so well organized. A basic gallery of Wayanad’s archaeological artefacts. But again, Sohal came to help with his knowledge and connected it with the mythology and tribal folklores of Wayanad – that amazing skill of a storyteller! Another highlight of this tour was the visit to this superhero called ‘Govindan’! He is the master archer of Wayanad! Such a kind soul! Govindan was so passionate about his job that he spent years together in preserving the craft of tribal archery. Govindan invited me to try my archery skills – I’m happy that I could impress him!!
What a day…What a great tour of Wayanad!! This tour was just the kind I was looking for – right amount of stories, right amount of descriptions, well organized, amazing local experiences and hands-on activities! Couldn’t ask for more! Brilliant effort team Tyndis!! Impossible to recommend these guys too highly. My day in Wayanad was one I will never forget.
