Overview
With so many different ways to see the Grand Canyon, it can be difficult to plan a trip and pick your mode of transport. This Grand Canyon Railway tour makes it easy and allows you to see some of the most scenic views the same way people did back in 1901—by train. Plus, you can pick from two seating options and upgrade to add lunch at the Maswik Lodge inside Grand Canyon National Park.
What to Expect
This Grand Canyon Railway adventure tour starts at Williams Depot in Arizona. Check in and, before boarding your train, watch a fun Wild West shootout re-enactment in an outdoor theater.

Then, aboard your train, settle into your seat and get ready to journey across Arizona’s northern countryside to the Grand Canyon National Park. As you ride, musicians will stroll by to entertain and actors will perform a faux old-time train robbery.

Once you arrive at the canyon, get off your train and board a motor coach for a trip touring the South Rim.

If you’ve upgraded to include lunch, enjoy your meal at the Maswik Lodge after the rim tour.

Your Grand Canyon tour ends back at Williams Depot after your return train ride.

When I compare the experiences we had on other trains, the the Grand Canyon Railroad, if I'm being honest, really is just an average train ride. Sure it's a diesel locomotive compared to a steam one, so it's cleaner. And the rail is quieter and smoother....More

The railway hotel and actually train ride was nice and kids had fun. Would recommend taking coach on the train. The Pullman does not have air conditioning. And Arizona can be exceptionally hot so you want to enjoy the two hour ride. You can take...More

Excellent trip to the Grand Canyon.

We spent 2 nights at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel and ride the train to the Grand Canyon. The hotel, food, service, tours, and accommodations were wonderful. Definitely recommend this experience.

Racial slurs have no place in Tourism

I’ll first say that the Railway tour is great, the scenery and the ride to the Grand Canyon is very worth it. On the way to the canyon we rode in first class in the Desert View car and on the return we rode in...More
