About
Join this first-of-its-kind tour to discover an incredible hidden treasure not far from Tokyo. You will discover an ancient Buddhist temple carved out of rock, and see glimpses of Japanese rural life.
We will take a cable car up to Mt. Nokogiri, from where you can enjoy a stunning view over Tokyo Bay. On a clear day you can even see Mount Fuji in the distance. Here you will explore the ancient Buddhist complex of Nihon-ji and its thousands of stone sculptures.
After descending from the summit, a delicious seafood lunch awaits, followed by a scenic drive through an authentic Japanese countryside of terraced rice paddies surrounded by bamboo forests (from spring to autumn). In winter, instead of the terraced rice paddies, we visit Okamoto Pier, a romantic spot to watch the sunset over Tokyo Bay.
Finally, on our return to the city, we cross Tokyo Bay on the Tokyo Aqua Line, an incredible feat of engineering.

- Voyager432296586840 contributionsMobal SIM - hit or miss, only partial refundI have used Mobal SIM cards on two trips to Japan now. The card works fine in my phone. However, in an older phone of visiting family it did not. The refund policy seemed to imply a full refund if you cancel within eight days but only the SIM card is refunded, the larger (almost 4000 yen) line charge is lost. We wasted quite some money for nothing. For the phone that works the SIM card does well.Written 8 November 2024
- RAS12530 contributionsGood summary of Nikko in one dayThe tour covered the key world heritage sites in Nikko. Coach was comfortable with good leg room. Tour guide was well briefed. Coach driver was excellent. The only issue we faced was being emailed incorrect information regarding the coach colour and registration number for pick up at Shinjuku. Also we were lucky to find our tour guide at the pickup place as she was not waving her flag as also advised.Written 5 November 2024
- K3819DRlisaw0 contributionsAn amazing way to visit Mount FujiThe tour was absolutely amazing. The tour guides were really friendly and helpful, the stations were amazing and the food was great too. I can absolutely recommend it.Written 7 September 2024

- JanaCapri0 contributionsNikko Toshogu shrine in Unesco and Nikko national park mountain beautiesNikko world heritage is not very known by tourists and also therefore we were just small minibus with 7 people. Unfortunately on our way to Nikko there was a traffic jam which shortened a bit time on each location. The tour was well organized and our English speaking guide (lady) was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately as she did not have a microphone - when traffic around was loud, we could not hear her properly. Our 1st and most important stop was Nikko Toshogu Shrine which is complex of several temples, pagoda etc. which are registered in Unesco. You could spend hours here. Beautifully carved wooden temples. As there are many stairs - this place is adventurous for people with walking difficulties. Then we stopped at Kegon Falls - which is 100 meter high waterfall (I recommend also to take also a lift down to the bottom of the fall). Then we stopped at lake Chuzengi which mountain lake and to it we took 24 curves road. As we had only half hour at the lake - we just had short walk - as it was not able to take a boat. Several people including me had lunch option which was vegetarian lunch - it was ok, but nothing special. Overall it was nice trip and Nikko Toshogu shrine is really worth to visit.Written 15 June 2024
- karenmM6294YT0 contributionsMonkey memory'sWorth going again , wonderful experience, would get shoe clamps at the shop before the climb as the path was very slippery ,wrar shoes that don't slip on ice path.Written 16 March 2024
- 969burtg0 contributionsDelicious lunch. Cute monkeys.Despite the long drive, it was worth it to see the really cute monkeys. They are definitely not shy, though only one was taking advantage of the hot springs. The sukiyaki lunch was one of the best of our stay in Japan. I would recommend renting the spikes if the path is icy. I got away with trail shoes, but other people were slipping and sliding.Written 12 March 2024
- D3580DQliams0 contributionsMonkey 🐒Guide was awesome, lunch was amazing and monkeys were cute. Long day but well worth it. Even got a surprise trip to the snow dome park in Kamakura village!Written 22 February 2024
- 266cherf0 contributionsSo very worth the drive for a really fun experienceAn amazing day trip from Tokyo! Yes, the drive is long and so worth it to walk in the snow and see these wonderful animals. Truly the highlight to this visit. Our guide, Masa, was wonderful and let us relax on the drive with a well timed stop at the halfway mark of the drive in each direction. The drivers were so friendly, too. The Sukiyaki lunch was fresh and delicious. Everything was setup and ready for us upon arrival which helped us keep to the schedule. The snow monkey park was enchanting with fresh snowfall. Definitely check the weather and come prepared for cold and slippery footing. Crampons are available at the shop for those who show up in sneakers. The monkeys are fun to watch as they scramble around the hillsides and play in the hot water. They really don't care about the humans walking around. Since I visited in late January, we also got to visit Kamakura snow huts. Hard to believe you'd want to enjoy dinner in a snow hut, but they are cool, especially as night fell and the lights were brought in.Written 28 January 2024
- susansK7935DQ0 contributionsSnow Monkey Tour was awesome! One of the highlights of our Japan trip! Travel to the Snow monkey park takes around 4hrs and then it’s a 30min walk before you actually see any monkeys. The walk can be icy so ensure you wear appropriate shoes. The sukiyaki lunch was delicious and filling. Our tour guide Keiji was engaging and played a Japanese trivia quiz with us while on the bus to pass some time. Once at the park, you are free to roam, observe and take pics while the monkeys are not at all intrigued by the humans. A very well organised tour - highly recommended!Written 19 January 2024
- jeremiahs8030 contributionsA “must do” while visiting TokyoWhat a great deal! My wife and I had a wonderful time! Worth every penny! We enjoyed wonderful freshly picked varieties of grapes, had a delicious lunch, saw lots of great views of Mt. Fuji, and the tour guide was very nice.Written 12 November 2023
- janetteo15110 contributionsValue for moneyThe tour was good as we got a good glimpse of Mt Fuji. The tour included a fruit farm which was a highlight for us as it is peach season so we had a great time fruit plucking. There was also a cable car ride to a hill where we can see Mt Fuji too. Also included was a traditional Japanese lunch which was sumptuous. We also en route to a small flower farm where lavender was flourishing. Finally, the last stop was the fifth station of Mt Fuji.Written 7 August 2023
- C2606LEwendym0 contributionsMonkey nature hikeLoved it! The hike up the mountain trail was beautiful but a little muddy. So nice to see the monkeys up close and enjoying their natural habitat.Written 12 March 2023
- rowiecantuba0 contributionsA MUST IF YOU LIKE A PERFECT SPOT TO SEE MT. FUJIAmazing! This tour is friendly to your pocket. You get to enjoy unlimited seasonal fruits, on out trip its the strawberries. The panoromic view of Mt. Fuji is perfect. For someone like me, this is a perfect spot. If you'd like to experience the swing though, you got to reserve ticket as early as possible as it took us quite a time because of long queu. Over all this tour is highly recommended.Written 7 March 2023
