About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Patric010 contributionsWonderful Yanmingshan and Beitou thermal valleyThe tour covers wonderful Yanmingshan and Beitou thermal valley, plus visiting cherry blossoms park. It’s a nice and attractive tour, but can be improved further by better organized itineraries and ‘stories’ and include guided trail walk. It’s recommended for nature lovers.Written 2 February 2025
- DayTrip609325826960 contributionsBeitou & Yangmingshan National Park Day TourOur experience with Edison Tours on the Beitou and Yangmingshan National Park tour was fantastic from start to finish. The itinerary was well-paced, covering some of the most stunning natural and cultural sights in the area. We visited Lengshuikeng, where we admired the scenic hot spring pools and serene landscapes, followed by Xiaoyoukeng, a striking volcanic area with steaming fumaroles and bubbling sulfur pits—a real highlight for nature lovers! Yangming Park was in full bloom, and we were lucky to catch the beautiful cherry blossoms, adding a magical touch to the journey. In Beitou, we explored the famous Thermal Valley, a fascinating hot spring area with its signature misty, jade-colored waters. The Beitou Hot Spring Museum provided a fascinating insight into the history and culture of Taiwan’s hot spring traditions. Our guide, Kia, was exceptional—knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing Taiwan’s history, geography, and hidden gems. Their enthusiasm made the tour even more enjoyable, and we truly appreciated their insights and attention to detail. We highly recommend Edison Tours for anyone looking to explore Taipei and beyond. Whether you're interested in nature, culture, or history, their tours are well-organized, informative, and a great way to experience Taiwan!🇹🇼Written 1 February 2025
- Patric010 contributionsVery nice views and experiencesVisiting Jiufen and Pingxi while in Taipei are must things to do and this tour makes it easy and convenient. Jiufen is very interesting place, especially the tea houses (make sure to visit and experience the tea culture). The views are very nice as well. While in Pingxi make sure to try flying the lantern, it is indeed an interesting experience. Shifen village and water falls were offering good experiences and nice views as well. And not forgetting the Yehliu national park, which offering natural wonders, make sure to see the ‘Queen’s head rock’. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Taipei/Taiwan.Written 31 January 2025

- ruiw4030 contributionsExcellent tour at an amazing price!Loved this tour! Highly recommend this tour. So happy it was in Mandarin and English because my mother speaks Mandarin better and I speak English better. Really liked that different nuances could be captured too in the each language. Alan was our tour guide and he was amazing! Very funny and smart, knew history, literature, and culture in depth, not just Taiwanese but also western cultures like America, UK, and Australia, which helped him make points of comparison. Very impressed with him! It's a bit of whirlwind with some time on the bus but I felt that we got to see so much. The hotels were all excellent, way more luxurious than places we'd normally stay. The driving was great too, very smooth and safe. Take this tour to get out of the city!Written 19 January 2025
- Go271692895170 contributionsan amazing experienceEdison was phenomenal - I couldn't recommend them more highly. We went on a private family six-night tour that took us to Sun Moon Lake, Xitou National Forest, and Kenting National Park. Holly helped us with the planning. She was responsive and her English communication was excellent. She was particular good at problem solving a tricky last-minute change that we requested. Our guide Gordon was also amazing. His English communication was superb, and he was easy going and flexible to our needs and changes to the schedule. I was particularly impressed with his ability to anticipate our needs.Written 8 January 2025

- stccali0 contributionsEdison 5 Day Best of Taiwan Tour = Great! My family and I (wife, 10 year old child) recently completed the 5-Day Best of Taiwan tour -- it was great! It was an informative, fun tour around the island, visiting many of the popular and cultural sites. Along the way, we learned a lot about Taiwanese culture, history, and language. Our tour guide (Chia-Hao) and bus driver (Sei-Chong) were both great! Chia-Hao was organized, informative, helpful, friendly, and kind — he was a big reason why the tour was so special. We definitely would consider another tour with Edison, especially if it is with Chia-Hao.Written 4 January 2025

- thomaslX5041OX0 contributionsWonderful cultural and sightseeing experience.I write this message on behalf of my mom. She had a great time embarking on this tour with Edison Tour Company, calling it fantastic and enjoyable. The tour entails both cultural experience and wonderful sightseeing in th3 trip. Although my mom didn't have any intention to do shopping in taipei 101, it would be great for other guest could be able to spend more time in 101 rather than only having 10-20 minutes. If I have an occasion to visit Taipei, I will definitely book this tour.Written 22 December 2024

The Taipei National Palace Museum harbors the rare, unique and traditional Taiwan's national treasures and artifacts spanning centuries and dynasties. It has many local visitors and tourists.
At the entrance is the imposing Mao "The Chairman" statue and other oriental statues. One cannot complete the tour of the museum due to the number of items inside and can easily get lost in the many compartments inside the museum. Some of the treasures are stored away from view for security reasons. There's also an eatery within the museum with mouth watering and sumptuous meals.

Following a N Taiwan tour, we decided to join the Taipei City tour the following day. Hotel collection was spot on time and we had a mini-city tour to collect other folks. Our guide Yuki, was knowledgeable, entertaining and a great personality for an introduction to another culture. Our driver, Vincent, expertly navigated the warren of streets around the city. We visited a diverse collection of temples, monuments, museums, markets and shopping malls. Yuki respectfully explained the cultures at the sensitive shrines and museums and gave us lots of time to wander around. We feel like we are experts on Taipei and had a great day out

If you are interested in Chinese culture, especially from the Qing dynasty then this is definitely one of the best museums in the world to see it. In fact my Chinese friends from Xi'an in China, which has one of the best museums in China, including the Terracotta warriors, were really envious that I was able to visit. Even they, with all their rich culture, and Xi'an is an incredible place to visit, told me this was the best museum in China. Quite an endorsement I thought.
I would happily visit here again should I ever return to Taipei, to admire the art and the beautiful, intricate, skilled Chinese craftsmanship.

My husband and I visited Taipei in March and we had a half day tour. Sherry was our guide and she was great. She tailored the tour to our schedule. We wanted to stay in the national palace museum longer so she moved it to be the last site which we are visiting, even though it meant more driving back and forth. She was knowledgeable and warm. We learned about history, culture and even recommendations for some of the food places. She didn’t take us shopping or try to push for product placement. We highly recommend the service.

We travelled from Taipei all the way south to Kaoshuing with Mr. Vincent Chang as our tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our 9 day adventure. Mr. CHANG was extremely helpful and solicitous. He engaged us in conversations about Taiwan ‘s history and Culture. One of the members of pur group has mobility issues and He went out of his way several times to make sure that she was safe and able to keep up with the group. We enjoyed his dining choices and went the extra mile and stood in line to make sure we purchased our pineapple Cakes. Our driver, Mr. Lin, was very helpful with our suitcases

Connor was a great tour guide. We stopped at about 6 place in the few hours of our tour. The van was comfortable and we didn't feel rushed at all Connor knows his history and was great at explaining little details about each site we visited. I would offer the suggestion to the van driver to practice a little patience - he was very aggressive unnecessarily.

The museum is the main reason for this tour. Sharon showed great knowledge and enthusiasm showing the Chinese artifacts of centuries and millennia past. The Palace hotel is grand and shows the beautiful Chinese architecture. The Chiang Kai Shek Memorial is open to everyone and you can visit anytime, however, Sharon timed it to the changing of the guards, which added an extra layer of memories.

Our guide was always in a hurry and driver must of been a race car driver in another life. Never had a chance to really enjoy most of the sights. The souvenir shop was the longest place we stay, maybe 45 min. The other place, it took longer to walk from the bus and climbing the stairs the actual visit to the museums.

This tour is a good choice to quickly take in the sights, but bring along your own water, packed lunch, and/or snacks because the tour guide we had was downright rude about allowing us a moment to buy anything. We were fainting in the heat and starving. We passed a perfectly good noodle stand but were rushed into the bus. Once he said no to food stops, his jokes and pleasantries diminished. He began to not understand my English and react oddly. At one point he said, “You can write whatever you want on Trip Advisor. No problem!” Therefore, here I am writing, warning. Aside from this, it was a good tour with good air conditioning inside the comfortable bus.

We were in the city for less a than 24hr layover and looking forward to making the most of our time. Tour guide was not great at managing a diverse group, he also kept disappearing for 10-20 minutes at a time. We’d ask questions and he’d say he would answer when larger group was together but never would. Because he was switching between three languages, we really didn’t learn much about the culture, history, and any of the areas we were driving through, only a few military history facts. The whole experience was disappointing. We felt like we could have taxied to each site and read a Wikipedia page in half the time it took us to drive around on the tour.

Written 26 August 2019
You may be cutting it very close if you are landing at the International airport in Taoyuan also called the Chiang Kai Shek International airport. Taxi to and from Taipei from the airport is usually fast (about 30 minutes) and inexpensive (1000 NT dollars) which is about 31 dollars. Just keep an eye on your time. 7 hours under normal circumstances should be just enough time assuming no delays. Upon finishing the tour get a taxi and head back to the airport ASAP and don't get side tracked by the markets, museum etc or you could miss your flight.
